I really enjoyed ‘Thanks, Carissa, For Ruining My Life’! It was a really sweet read.
It was lovely to see Rose’s journey to self love. The main message of self acceptance is so important and relevant.
This was really easy satisfying read that I found very hard to put down! There were sections which felt slightly unfinished and confused me a bit, which I imagine will be reviewed before final release, but this did make the book feel slightly disjointed, so had to give 4 not 5 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a cute friends to lovers story that was a quick read! Once I got into it, I found myself not wanting to put it down.
Thanks, Carissa was a really sweet friends to lovers story. Like others who've reviewed the book, I found the ending a little abrupt--I would have liked to see Brad and Rose watching some of Rose's reality show--and the miscommunications between the two got a little old after awhile, but on the whole it was a nice story that I think would appeal to YA readers who enjoy romance stories.
A 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars
Sweet and an absolutely charming read. Picked this up for a cute friends to lovers story and that's exactly what I got! I wished the story had more details about the characters and more interactions between Brad and Rose because I loved the scenes at the gym. Suitable for middle-grade and YA readers.
***Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This one was a little slow to begin, but quickly picked up with the development of the characters. My biggest problem is the abrupt ending.
After reading an excerpt on another site I knew I had to read this book. Firstly, that adorable cover and the title really made me wonder exactly what Carissa did to ruin lives. The book starts off a little slow and takes time to really show us the voice and personality of each character but soon enough I was invested. Rose seems sweet and Brad comes across like the usual scatterbrained teen boy, but as the story progresses you can see how they connect and grow. I like how side characters are fleshed out and contribute to the story. Wasn’t the biggest fan of all the miscommunication but it’s understandable when people are too afraid to be upfront about feelings. I wasn’t sure I would buy the romance but sure enough it got me and by the end I was eagerly waiting for them to figure it out. That ending though had me searching for another chapter. I wanted to see them together,( at least for a little while) and how they were planning to make it work. It was such a cute read that I would recommend everyone read.
