this is exactly what I was looking for. a light fluffy read with such a cozy feel. I loved the Montana setting and both main characters.

This book was awesome. I loved the plot, characters, narration, and the pace the story unraveled.

I received a reviewer copy of Six Months in Montana by Pamela M. Kelley from the publisher Piper Plover Press on audio from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What It’s About: Christian Ford's grandpa has passed away and left behind his beloved ranch that employs a good amount of the town, but he will only inherit if he marries Molly Bishop, a friend from years ago and remains married for six months. Molly, though no longer lives in Montana and runs a New York City hotel, where she's dreaming of promotion. Molly agrees to enter in to the marriage to help save the town she loves.

What I Loved: This was a fun marriage of convenience, it didn't feel like either party was pressuring the other and that they realistically made a thoughtful decision. I really loved that this book was set in Montana, a place I really fell in love with and you know what I love even more? We have a man who lives in Montana and isn't a manly man who needs to be the provider and be sexist. This book is like Debbie Macomber's books but honestly I find the characters a bit more progressive and less traditional, while still being a quiet, fun, sweet romantic novel.

What I didn’t like so much: A bit cheeesy. I couldn't really keep track of the side characters. But mostly I wish that the 'necessary conflict' hadn't happened because it seemed avoidable with confidence and communication, which frustrates me, but also it was meant to be thoughtful and supportive so it didn't bother me too much.

Who Should Read It: People who are looking for comfort books but get frustrated by the some of the sexism on display in books set in more rural or country locations!

Summary: A marriage of convenience in a small Montana town? Yes, please.

I like the marriage for convenience trope but this book didn't bring anything to the table except a lot of recipes. Molly (or is it Holly) is just so boring/perfect that I can't even remember her name. There was very little romance and I didn't feel any chemistry between Molly and Christian.

Oh Dear Lord. This premise does not work in contemporary romance. A will forcing people to get married to inherit? Also, this is a sweet romance. So they get married AND it's a sweet romance. The heroine is supposed to be ambitious but the book seems to condemn ambitious women. no. this is crazy.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. Wow this book is so unbelievable. Such an unrealistic story plot.

Basic plot: Christian Ford’s grandfather passed away and in his will, made a condition that Christian and his old friend Molly Bishop become married. They are to stay married for at least six months to meet the terms of the will. Will this arrangement work?

Rating: 3/5

What I enjoyed the most: While I enjoyed getting to know Molly and Christian in this audio book, the basic storyline has been written plenty of times before. It was slightly cliche but I did enjoy it.

I enjoyed the style and expressiveness of the writing. The narrator was not my favorite choice.

Thank you to NetGalley for granting me permission for an advanced copy of this great book!

I love me a good “friends turned lovers”, warm, fuzzy story. I was super excited to listen to the first book of this new series by Pamela Kelley. Cute premise of successful boy can’t commit but is unwillingly pushed to try out a relationship with someone he’s known all his life but never considered a romantic relationship. Christian has the restraint to say all the right things at all the right times….except “I love you”. He just can’t commit. It is nice that he’s not pushy or domineering.

Molly puts her career on hold to honor her a will created by her old friends grandfather upon his passing. It was nice that she didn’t actually have to completely surrender because her facility was undergoing renovation, so she was given a hiatus. Unbeknownst to her, over time, she develops real feelings for Christian. Where will the romance go? Can Christian change to be the commitment type?

While I enjoyed the characters I did feel that the emotion from the male protagonist was lacking. It was so sparse and you didn’t get any spark of heat from his characters voice. I also admit that I found myself disappointed in Mollys character. Compromise in a relationship is one thing but I think this relationship felt way more one sided. Maybe there wasn’t enough of Christian’s perspective/voice in there???

The narration was great! Special thanks to #PipingPloverPress #NetGalley #SixMonthsInMontana for early access to the audiobook version

I listened to the audiobook version, and appreciated it was on the shorter side so I could finish it in a couple of listens. The storyline for the book is what really drew me into the story, as I find the fake marriage trope to be a fun read/listen. I thought that this book had a lot of potential, but if I am being honest I struggled with it as a whole. I think one of my main probems was the author was so descriptive when it came to the meals and the cooking that at times it felt more along the lines of a cookbook rather than a book that was more relatioship or loved focused. There were times where I sort of was wondering how many times there was going to be a mention of steak. This is very much so could be a "me thing" and not be noticeable to other readers though so I would say that it isnt necessarily a deterrant- but something that I did find to be a bit odd. I also will say that I sort of wished for a bit more of a development between the main characters. I sort of felt like we were introduced to them, we knew they had a history, but werent really told much about their history or got much of a look into the present to sort of piece together why it ended up the way that it did. Overall I think that this was a sweet story, but I also saw so much potential that I felt didnt really build up to what I had hoped.

Another delightful read from Pamela Kelley. Kelley does an excellent job of creating small worlds that readers want to visit or live in themselves and Six Months in Montana is no different. The only problems that arose for me during the novel was how there were a few conflicts or off handed comments that were made, but then never explored in the novel. Overall though, listening to this novel was an enjoyable experience with excellent narrators as well.

Molly Bishop loves her job in New York and is expecting to be promoted to general manager of the hotel she manages any day now. However, after a brief trip to the small Montana town where she grew up, the grandfather of her childhood friend Christian Ford decided to do a last minute will revision only a month before he died. Now, Molly and Christian must marry and live as husband and wife for 6 months, or else Christian won’t inherit the family business, and dozens of people will be out a job. Can the two wait out their 6 months and move on with life, or will they discover what they are looking for in each other?

This was a sweet, clean romance set in small town Montana. It was a quick read, with the audiobook coming in at about 4.5 hours. As such, the story jumped forward weeks or months at a time, keeping the story moving at a brisk pace. The characters are all likeable, and other than the main plot point of being forced to get married, there is little conflict in the book. There were a lot of food descriptions in the book, so if you like your books to leave you drooling over their food, you should check this one out. Overall, it was a nice story but would have been better if it had been fleshed out some to show us more of the couple spending time together and falling in love.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

This is a marriage of convenience romances.
Molly Bishop & Christian Ford are childhood friends who grew up and apart its been years since they have seen each other his grandfather stated in his will they have to be married for 6 months for him to get the farm they ran.

So of course she aazgrees to it right at the perfect time to take a leave from her hotel job in Manhattan. They get married she moves in.
You can guess the rest. They have ex drama (that wasn't flushed out enough) they fall in love. Then she gets offered her dream role at work.
Does she fo back or does she stay.

This was a short read and it needed flushed out everything got wrapped up neatly within chapters. I didn't root for them I just went through the motions to finish the book. I wasn't feeling it and don't feel the need to read anymore in this series.

Thank you NetGalley for this audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

It was hard for me to give this one 3 stars but it was too predictable. Sorry. Molly Bishop is up for promotion at her dream job in Manhattan but she doesn't get it. Christian's grandfather passes away and he thinks he is going to inherit the ranch but finds out he cannot unless he marries and has to marry Molly Bishop. Wait! What! Bad B movie time but they agree and plan to keep it platonic even set out to open a B&B on the ranch to keep Molly busy during her six months in Montana. Lots of wine drinking and, you got it, those feelings come out and soon they fall into bed together, but what happens at the end of the six months? Read/listen to the book. It is pretty predictable if you have ever watched a movie or read a "sweet" western romance...

Six Months in Montana is the first in the series of the Montana Sweet Romance books by Pamela M. Kelley. First published in 2013, this book is now an audiobook read by Patricia Santomasso. Molly Bishop has worked very hard to secure her place as assistant manager at a boutique hotel in Manhattan and is in line to make general manager as soon as the remodeling project is completed.

Christian Ford and Molly were best friends when she lived in Beauville, Montana as a kid. But when her father passed away and her mother relocated them to NYC to be close to her sister Betty, they lost touch. Then a couple of years ago Molly’s mother and aunt moved back to Beauville for a quieter life. When visiting her mom and aunt a few months earlier she ran into Christian’s grandfather and had a nice conversation with the elderly gentleman.

When he passed in his sleep a short time later he left behind quite a surprise in his will. In order to receive his Ford family legacy and be able to continue keeping half the town on his payroll, Christian and Molly will need to marry within the month and stay married a minimum of six months. When Molly learns of this she has to do whatever she can to save the jobs of the townsfolk, including her uncle.

This is a lovely story. Orchestrated from beyond, the pathway set for Christian and Molly is perhaps a match made in heaven. But do they think so? This intricately plotted story brings the two together, but will the best laid plans lead to a happily ever after?

I very much enjoyed this book and this author and do recommend it! I will be looking for the next book in the series!

Six Months in Montana by Pamela M. Kelley
Narrated by Patricia Santomasso
Publisher: Piping Plover Press
Genre: Romance
Published November 16, 2021

Six Months in Montana is the first book in the Montana Sweet Western Romance series by Pamela M. Kelley.

I thought this was a fun romance. Childhood friends brought back together as adults in a marriage of convenience designed by his grandfather...what could go wrong? Jealous ex-girlfriends, a promotion in the balance, an injured brother, and meddling family are all added to the dynamic of crazy chemistry! It's so obvious that they were meant to be together and they just need that little boost! The story was great and this is a quick read!

The narration by Patricia Santomasso was so good! I loved how she brought the story to life!

I can't wait to read the other books in this series!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I listened to the audio version of this book on NetGalley. I jumped on it, because I'm a huge Pamela Kelley fan. What I didn't know, was that this is a book that came out originally in 2013. It very much showed that it was an early book.

This is a marriage of convenience trope with too much description of the day to day life of the couple. The narration was good, but the story seemed sort of antiquated at this point. Kelley's writing has definitely improved over the years.

I was gifted a copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.

Six Months In Montana by Pamela M. kelley
is a quick romance about a grandfather willing a romance for his grandson. Molly is as shocked as Christian when his grandfather's will states they must marry and live together for six months before Christian can inherit his ranch.

Narrator Patricia Santomasso's pleasant voice helps this romance progress to its obvious end. Charming and sweet with a satisfying conclusion.

I received a free copy of these audiobook from Piping Plover Press via #Netgalley for fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

She is all about advancing in her career as an up and coming hotel manager in New York City, he is a hard working and successful rancher in Montana. They knew each other as children in Montana until her mom moved her to New York. One day Molly runs into Christian's grandfather and they have a great visit. Shortly thereafter she receives two messages. One that her promotion to manager is delayed for a year while the hotel is remodeled and two that Christian's grandfather has remembered her in his Will with a proposal that she and Christian marry for six months to save the ranch and the employees' jobs.

This is a medium length short story. I really enjoyed the extra length which allowed the author to add more to the story line. The plot was well thought out and enjoyable. I liked the small town atmosphere and would love to read a book, by this author, about more people in this town, or perhaps Christian's brother could use a wife.

I had read this book 4 years ago and was recently given a copy of the audiobook. I had previously given it a 5 star rating and wondered if I would enjoy it just as much the second time around.

I can honestly say that the last 4 chapters are probably my favorite. I could feel the emotions through the words as they were being read.

The arranged marriage situation wasn’t ideal, but I am glad that Molly and Christian gave it a chance. It took a strong man with good intentions to make Molly go back to her original life.
