I’m convinced this author can do no wrong. I’m not a huge fan of slow burn romance. I like it,but it’s not the first trope I pick up, however I run to pick up a Katherine Center book. Her stories are so rich and emotive. They leave me feeling like I’ve just received the best and warmest hug.
The Bodyguard is no different. I loved Hannah and Jack’s story immensely! It’s a quick paced read filled with great banter and a cast of characters I immediately fell in love with.
Another five star read!
This is a perfect summer read. An unlikely assignment for Hannah, a Protection Agent, protecting a Hollywood heartthrob but every bit of it is unlikely but unquestionably fun. I smiled through the entire book and beyond.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
After really enjoying What You Wish For, Things You Save In A Fire, and How To Walk Away, I knew when I got the e-ARC for The Bodyguard I would read it ASAP.
What I liked:
The cover is ADORABLE. Heart eyes!
Hannah. I loved her as a character. She was funny. Smart. Kick butt.
The chemistry between Hannah and Jack! ❤
Bottom line: If this book DOES NOT get made into a movie, I’m going to be utterly bummed.

Love this one by Katherine Center. Famous people dating normal people is one of my favorite tropes, and this one did not let me down. The Texas ranch setting was excellent, too.
Cute, fun love story. Enjoyed it immensely! This book is great for anyone who needs a book that is cozy and sweet. If you like Hallmark movies, give this one a try!
Loved the story line, as it wasn’t something that is “typically” done. Would’ve like a little more depth of main characters, but still enjoyed reading!
4 Stars!
Super cute, but very unrealistic...which made it perfect for what I was looking for!! I love Katherine Center's writing.
This book follows the point of view of Hannah who just lost her mom, her boyfriend, and her best friend all within weeks of each other. Did I tell you she's a 5'5" bodyguard?? Super fun! Hannah works as an Executive Protection Agent and was just assigned to protect a famous movie star, Jack Stapleton. During her protection duty, Hannah starts to see that there is more to Jack.
I would recommend this book to my friends that love hallmark movies and rom-coms. I enjoyed this, but for my personal tastes, it was a little tooooo much rom-com. It's predictable and cute, and it would make a GREAT movie! It's a great summer read. I read this in less than one day.
Thank you to netgalley for providing me with a free e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I've already purchased my own copy.
This was such a fun, sweet book and somehow unlike many other romance novels I've read. I enjoyed following along with the characters and it has made me a Katherine Center lover- I now plan to read all of her books!
Okay, so it's been a while since I was approved for this book, but it turns out that it's only gotten better with time! Thank you to Katherine Center, the publishers, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
It was such a fun ride. These are my favorite type of romance book: ones that are equal parts endearing, funny, and action-packed! This book has a surprising amount of heart. I fell in love with Jack Stapleton and his mix of charm, humor, and goofiness. Truly, I loved this book. It kept me hooked and engaged even till the very end. About 70% of the way through I was confused why there was still so much book left, but that last 30% FLEW and I was captivated by what was going to happen next! So great!

Cute, funny and just what I needed. The Bodyguard is a breath of fresh air and a guaranteed smile. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks for the review copy. I’m glad I gave Center another chance. This is a fun, feel good read. I am sure others will really enjoy it.
Sigh! If you are in the mood for: a twist on the bodyguard trope, Miss Congeniality vibes, a totally swoony actor, a ridiculous (in the best way) stalking sub-plot, laugh-out-loud scenes, and a book with so much heart it'll make you want to hug it... then go get this book.
This is one I'm going to reread for sure.
This was not one of my favorite Katherine Center novels.
A PI company was hired to be a bodyguard for a famous guy. She played his girlfriend to cover it up, so that his family didn't know there was danger.
I received a copy of this novel from NetGalley for my honest review.
I'm usually a true crime, suspense, mystery, psychological thriller girl but every once in a while I need a good pallate cleanser and this was just that - a fun, easy to read, feel good romance with a strong lead female character.
Hannah Brooks is an Executive Protection Agent (aka a bodyguard) and has spent her career guarding oil execs and other high up people in that kind of business. She has not ever wanted to protect any one famous like a movie star...until that's who she is assigned to protect. After the death of her mother and a bad breakup (with a coworker) she is on a downward spiral and almost loses her job completely. So when she's assigned famous movie star Jack Stapleton she's less than thrilled. Jack is in town to spend time with his mother as she undergoes surgery and is dealing with a little bit of a stalker situation, warranting his agent to get him a protection agency.
I enjoyed the budding friendship and then romance between Hannah and Jack. I also enjoyed the clean aspect of this romance. There was nothing explicit in this story. When Jacks attitude toward Hannah changes dramatically at a key point in the story I kind of guessed what was up and I was glad for the ending to resolve everything.
This was a sappy, cheesy, lovely, easy romance and I recommend it for anyone who needs something fresh, light, and easy to read. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Thank you to Net Galley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. Hannah works as a Executive Protection Agent but no one would guess. She's consumed by her work, most likely to avoid the other things in her life that she just doesn't want to deal with. Her mother has just died, then her boyfriend breaks up with her and her boss has taken her off a case and sent her best friend along her with ex. Things don't seem like they could get worse. As she tries to put the pieces together she looks forward to her next assignment to get back on track and get away...only to find it's in Houston (her home town) and protecting Jack Stapleton, a hunky actor, along with her ex. Jack has things in his past but at the moment his mother in the hospital and he doesn't want his family knowing that he needs protection. So, he wants Hannah to pose as his girlfriend. Hannah's ex says no one would believe that and, against her better judgment, she agrees. And off we go!
This was a fun, page-turning story. I've read several Katherine Center novels and always enjoy them. This one seemed to lack that extra something special that her novels normally have but still perfect for the cozy afternoon or beach read. 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this book. It was light and fun but with some serious moments as well. I liked the storyline, it was predictable in a few places but it didn’t make it less interesting. The characters were great and easy to like (or dislike in certain cases). This book gave me a lot of the feels.
Really loved this book. I am such a sucker for her writing and I love a fake dating trope. She painted a beautiful picture of the characters that made them very likeable.
AHHHHH I LOVE THIS!!!
This is super sweet and so adorable, I totally recommend!! The plot is perfect, the characters are perfect, and the romance is perfect. I just love it sm!
While the self-talk can be a bit grating at times, the characters are really fun to root for and it's a well-constructed story. Would happily recommend and think it would make a wonderful movie.
