A well done book that would be suitable for a teen to read and understand the message. It is Christian based however the message inside touches on more than a Christian mindset.
I would highly recommend "Who Are You Following?" for anyone on social media, but especially those in the teen and young adult age group. Sadie Robertson Huff uses statistics, facts, and personal experience to really help you think about how you view social media apps and your relationship with them. This book had me thinking about who I follow and how it affects my mental health and the way I view myself. I love how Sadie weaves in scripture verses through out the book, and the encouragement to use our platform no matter how big or small for God's glory.
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are completely my own.
I loved this book. It takes a good look at how social media affects all aspects of our lives. I enjoyed the real life stories, the facts presented to go along with the points that were made and the inclusion of scripture to back the comparisons Sadia makes that shows how social media can be damaging to a relationship with Jesus. Like with all Sadie's books, this one left an impression on me and caused me to look at my own social media usage and where I can make adjustments to deal with some of the issues I personal experience from social media. A must read in my opinion.
Very insightful and well written. Had me thinking about the tough questions. I really enjoy the way Sadie writes because it’s relatable and easy to understand and I enjoyed how each section had some questions to ask to dive deeper.
This book was a great reminder of how to live a life following God and not the world. It was a little repetitive at times but it really did drill in the point that once we choose to follow Christ, we are to live set apart. I loved the amount of scripture that was woven throughout the book as well as the sharing of the Gospel and call to Salvation. She also shared some tips for not letting social media rule your world which was helpful. Thanks to Thomas Nelson—W Publishing and Netgalley for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review!!
“In the Bible Jesus’ disciples knew exactly who they were looking for, and when they found Him, they stopped “scrolling” and dropped everything to follow Him. That seems like a wild concept: to be able to just drop your plans in life and follow someone you have never met. But many of us do that all the time without even realizing it.”
I really liked this book! Sadie is an inspiring teacher of the current generation and I hope they pick up this book! I have so many quotes I highlighted and loved what she had to say!
I want to thank Thomas Nelson Publishing through NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
As always, Sadie delivered a wonderful book with such good truth! Sadie is so talented, she knows the truth and she shares it so well. She connects with readers and makes it feel like you are sitting down with her. I loved it.
I enjoyed this book. I think the advice mixed in with scripture go hand in hand. I also feel like this book may be geared toward a younger generation. Her writing was easy to follow but very conversational. It was like being in her livingroom having a conversation. I would recommend this book to young women who are on social media a lot and need guidance and wisdom in this area.
It has been so neat to watch Sadie continue to grow and flourish over the last few years. This book is one that I can see myself passing on to college students and youth groups. It is very relevant and well done.
