Despite it being a 50 page read or something, I am so intrigued about the plot line and the characters even the secondary characters, that I just can’t wait enough to devour this book.
It would be safe to say that I’m quite besotted with them because kamila really seems to know best.
This preview was super cute. I liked the hints of Jane Austen's Emma. I could see foreshadowing to events later in the book, based on events in Emma, but it was also a refreshing new take on the story. I'm definitely interested in reading the full book.
So I got to read the first 50 pages of this book, and I definitely enjoyed it. Kamila is someone I can identify with, in the fact that she is someone who seems to strive for perfection and prefers to be in control. I would say she's succeeding far more than I ever have in those regards, though. She seems to be always alert, dressed to the nines, and concerned about how everyone else is feeling/doing first and foremost. These are all great attributes, but also contribute to her downfalls. Does she ever have any down time? What about comfort over fashion sometime? What about putting yourself first before you burn out? All of these questions are so relevant for women these days, as we are taught to put ourselves on the backburner. I can just tell that somethings got to give for Kamila, and I feel like she's going to learn how important it is to find balance, and that's something that I think any reader can appreciate. Kamila probably presents as perfect to the other characters, but as the reader, we get to see her flaws, and I really like that in a main character.
All of the characters we've met thus far are very genial and likeable. I'm very intrigued to learn more about her Father, who seems to have a very troubled past, but is doing his best to get better and not worry his daughter. I love his relationship with Rohan, who appears to be the main love interest, and I can't wait to get to know him more as well. He's clearly attached to their family, and while he has a typical "up tight businessman job," he always appears relaxed and kind whenever he's around the Hussain's.
If you want to read a book with POC, sex positive attitudes, and LGBTQIA+ representation, I would absolutely recommend this book based off the excerpt I read.
I only read the first few chapters and I am already excited for the rest. I can’t wait to pick up the full book! I loved the food aspect, I think I will need snacks for when I finish this book!
after reading and adoring accidentally engaged by Farah Heron, I am happy to follow her wherever she wants to take me. And upon seeing this vibrant and adorable cover I was fist-pumping and jumping on board before I even read the summary. Happily, the sampler delivered and I am already hooked! it honestly reminded e of Bollywood-Esque Emma and, as anyone who knows me, I am always here for Jane Austen and Jane Austen like stories. This preview had all the charm and vivid characters that made me fall in love with Farah's writing in Accidentally Engaged and I look forward to reading the full novel to see how things unfold further!!!
This is just a preview of the first 3 chapters of the book, hopefully I will be able to read the entire book soon. So far what I read seems fun and lighthearted.
I can’t wait to read the full book it’s interesting entirely. The first three chapters really drew me into the story.
This was a great sneak peek, which motivated me to download the full copy. I cannot wait to finish this read.
Overall, I enjoyed the preview of this book and I'm interested to see where the story goes. Kamila seems like a really fun character who deeply cares about her family and I do love a good friends to lovers story. I also enjoyed the representation in this book and it doesn't feel like a generic rom com. I'm excited to read the rest of this story!
I liked the preview a lot, but I feel like we jumped into the characters too quickly. It took me a little bit to figure out the relationship with Rohan, and I would have appreciated a little more character description/buildup before jumping right into the story! It also seems like there might be a lot of intertwining plot points that could get confusing as the book goes on - just in the sample there were 3 different storylines, plus the matchmaking parts!
It was hard to put this preview for Kamila Knows Best down! I really enjoyed Accidentally Engaged, so I immediately checked out this sampler. Kamila effortlessly juggles elaborate movie nights, looking after her father, and trying to nab more clients at work. It’s clear that Kamila will have many obstacles to face yet, from the truth about her father’s health to her secret nemesis returning to town. I loved the parallels to Emma that I could see even within this short sampler. The writing is witty, fast-paced, and I’m so excited to read the rest of the story! Kamila Knows Best releases March 8, 2022. Thank you so much to Farah Heron, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and Netgalley for a free preview in exchange for honest feedback.
Reviewing chapters 1-3 only
This book was hard to get into for me, but once I was engaged, I was sad I only had a short preview and not the full book. I am glad that there were three chapters to become enticed into Kamila’s life and see what was driving her to become successful in her personal and professional life.
I am rating the mini read 4 of 5 because it took a moment to engage me, but I am excited to get my hands on a full copy! I am excited for it to come out in 2022 and see how it ends.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the chance to read this preview! I was hooked from the opening pages--the Emma tribute is set up perfectly with immediately recognizable character traits, and cute winks to Austen (Lizzy and Darcy the dogs!) without being heavy-handed. Can't wait to read more!
This was a decent book although not my style. Glad everyone is enjoying it and I would still encourage others to check it out. It had too much telling and not enough show in my opinion, but worth a read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.
Thank you for this preview! I downloaded it in order to decide whether or not to get the full book and ended up really enjoying it. The writing style is simple, yet charming, and I can already tell I will love the story. I'm going to download the full book right now! I recommend it to fans of Farah Heron's previous books or people looking for a fun read.
Whenever there's a book preview, I always take the chnace on reading the first few chapters in order to decide if I would like the book. These few pages in Kamila Knows Best were really fun to read. This is my first time reading something by the author, and I have to say that her writing style is easy to follow and understand. She has a way with words that make the story more enjoynful. I look forward to knowing what will happen in the rest of the book!
