Thunderpaws was a delightful book to read, full of history, magic, and humor. I would recommend this light-hearted mystery to anyone who enjoyed the Harry Potter series as well as all cat lovers out there.

An action-packed adventure with cats, rats, ravens, ghosts and more! The narrator is Teufel, a cat who moves from Devon to the Tower of London with his owner the chaplain. He gets drawn into a mystery that will lead him to his destiny.

The book has a wide audience target of 'kids and adults'. I have to admit that I didn't always find the narrative easy to follow and so I wouldn't put it in the children's category.

What I really liked were the absolutely gorgeous illustrations and the way the author has got into the egotistic mindset of a cat. It really could be a cat writing the story. The details were very well-considered, especially the use of 'dog' as a swear word! It's not the kind of story I would usually read but it certainly struck me as unique.

I would recommend the book if you like supernatural reads, cats (obviously), action and a bit of toilet humour.

At last a book told from the cats perspective that is actually believable and quite funny too, lots to love about this book and although a light read a damned good one

Thank you Ben Housden, High gate Press, and Netgalley for this ARC.

This was a light read, despite the subject manner. Cute, funny, and entertaining. Read it if you like all-ages books with talking cats, rats, a mouse, spirit felines and royal ghosts.

I enjoyed the book enough to read so I can provide a review but I must admit at times reading it was hard for me. The way it jumped from narrative to cat, to mouse, go vicar at times was a little overwhelming and tedious trying to figure who was who - and it would make me put the book down and read something else - then later on force myself to pick it up again.

I did like the cat's attitude, the story and the history filled pages and I think it was a very original idea.

I don't believe I was just not the correct audience for the book and I know this is also going to be marketed to YA readers and I strongly encourage getting feedback from them. I read a lot of YA and this is something that on a regular day I would just not finish

Teufel is wonderful! His cat attitude is just as it should be. His thought process as he proceeds to be sick to protest his recent treatment made me laugh.

The humour is sometimes juvenile (ie - potty humour) but it didn't stop me from enjoying this book.

The illustrations are wonderful.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from High Gate Press through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, High Gate Press.

ps - I'm nicknaming the cat in my life "Thunderpaws".

Thunderpaws is a whimsical adventure where a cat has to save London from the whims of ghosts. Teufel finds himself caught up in a plot by the ghosts in the Tower of London. With an attitude only fit for a cat, he has to assemble an unlikely team to foil them. Sprinkled through with real history and some potty humor, this felt like an engaging read for younger readers.
