This book was very interesting. You hear alot about the scientists and how things went, but not about anyone else. How did the women function. Why did they decide to come there? What was it like. I definitely think this book answers those questions. It follows different woman's point of view as the the time goes. How it was for them and the struggles of life in this secret town.
While the story itself is a fascinating one, I had a hard time finishing this book and never really felt pulled into it. It'll be a great fit for those who want to learn more about this untold part of history though.
Very readable and fascinating. My favorite parts of American history are the parts of what homelife was like during WWII- I wrote my senior thesis on an aspect of this even!- so this was right up my alley. I wish this one had been around when I was still in college. I love seeing the little bits and the daily life. Definitely would recommend this to other non-fiction readers.
