I really wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book as I have never been interested in sports romance. I don’t know why but the idea of one or both of the main characters being athletes have never appealed to me. However, upon learning that Teddy Hamilton was one of the narrators of the story, I didn’t seem to care as much because he is a brilliant narrator that brings the characters and the story to life in vivid display.
Secondly, it doesn’t take long for the reader to fall for both Bree and Nathan. These two characters are too adorable and the only annoying thing about them is that it took them this long to figure out they are crazy for one another and belong together. Really, how wonderful is it to be in love with your best friend and they feel the same? Of course, you need to communicate that with each other and they communicate it loud and clear to their inner monologues, but it takes them a while to get with the program. However, I forgave them because they are adorable.
This is the first book in a series and I’m still on the fence about whether I want to commit to another series. If you saw how many titles I have sitting on my Kindle and iPod, you would totally understand my hesitation. This book is my first by author Sarah Adams. I don’t understand why I haven’t picked up anything by her before as she has a fresh voice and humor that comes through so eloquently.
I also loved meeting all the secondary characters and Nathan’s teammates were hysterical. Let’s just say that when I think of pedicures and football players in the same sentence in the future, I will burst out laughing all over again. Additionally, I liked that this story had depth and substance between the characters outside of the bedroom. When done well, the heightened anticipation of what is simmering between the main characters can be much better than just tossing everything out and jumping between the sheets.
My Final Verdict: Overall, this is a great story to choose if you are looking for something that will increase your heart rate and tickle your funny bone. I highly recommend it to all readers of the contemporary romance and romantic comedy genres because it gives the reader all the warm fuzzies we look for in this genre.
Thank you to the publisher, Dreamscape Media, who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.

I usually enjoy a friends to lovers, mutual pining, but Bree was super annoying with her “he could never love me” attitude. It was repetitive and ridiculous that she couldn’t even imagine it when he’s always shown he’ll put her first. However the moments between them and their friendship was really cute, and I really liked Nathan as a main character. But unfortunately I was mostly just annoyed waiting for them to confess their feelings for most of the book. It was a quick easy read and I still really enjoy the author and will be reading her newer books.
Also really enjoyed the narrators, especially teddy hamilton.

I’m so upset with myself for sitting on this one. I had seen that Sarah Adams writes fade to black so The Cheat Sheet kept moving down my TBR, but once I finally listened it was friends to lovers perfection. I ate it up. Sarah Adams writes tension between her MCs so perfectly that I’ll read anything she writes.
Narration: I think it could be better. The narrator does make Bree come off a bit stuck up.
Thanks to Dreamscape and NetGalley for my copy to review.

This title archived before I was able to download it. I was able to borrow it from the library, but didn't really get into it. Maybe I'll try it again at some point.
*Thank you @dreamscape_media for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*

My oh my I just love Sarah Adam’s writing!
You know when you pick up a book and everything about it just connects with you? That’s me with Sarah’s books. Her writing is flawless, her humour is spot on and her characters are so darn lovable.
Nathan and Bree have been best friends since high school. They are both in love with one another other, but keep their feelings inside and feel there is NO way the other could possibly feel the same. After a drunken slip up, a touch of fake romance and some hilarity along the way - you get a front row seat to their love story.
Friends to lovers might be inching its way up to my favourite trope (sorry hate to love you’ve been bumped😬). There is just something about that base connection that best friends already have, the sweetness and awkward blips along the way of navigating a new relationship that gets me every time - all things that the author did seamlessly.
Bree - hilarious, witty, vulnerable, sweet and kind - the perfect lead.
Nathan - charming, head over heels in love, generous, caring - the perfect love interest.
Slow burn, high tension, and intense. You guys know I like my steam - but this is a closed door romance, and I LOVED that it was- all the things I love in a romance are there - and the steam isn’t even missed because you know it’s there behind that door. 😂
I could go on and on about all the things I loved about this, but just trust me. Read this and try not to fall in love with Bree & Nathan too. In fact - read all of Sarah Adam’s books too - if you need me, I’ll be working my way through the rest.

As a big fan of Sarah Adams' other books I was very excited to get an Advanced Copy of Cheat Sheet. I had heard so much about this book and saw it all over booktok. I have to say it lived up to the hype. Usually I am not a big sports gal, but this did a really good job of meddling sports and romance. Honestly I don't understand a lot of things about football and I still loved this book. I would highly recommend it. Sarah Adams is an amazing author and she brings it in this one.

I have now read five of Sarah Adams' books, all read in the last six-ish weeks! I adore her books overall and find the characters are well developed, the romance is clean, and they are so, so funny! Highly recommend her books overall. This is my second favorite of hers (after The Off Limits Rule) but loved this one so much. Both characters were just delightful and sweet and I loved their friendship and inner dialogue. This is a book you cannot not fly through - it's addicting and unputdownable!

The narrators of this audiobook were FANTASTIC! They really brought Bree and Nathan to life which made me super excited for the story itself. The concept was super cute and engaging. I normally am not a huge fan of friends to lovers but Sarah made me change my mind on that trope! Additionally, I LOVED how well Sarah wrote this closed-door romance! That coupled with how great the narrators brought Bree and Nathan to life made for the perfect binge read! My only complaint was the ending. It felt very rushed for my liking. But overall I am excited to read more from Sarah!

This book was such an engaging listen, I found myself picking it up almost every chance I got. The character dynamics were so much fun and added a lot to the story as well.

This was so cute! I love the best friends to lovers trope. Everyone has raved about this book and I'm so glad I finally read it!

Loved this friends to lovers rom-com. Such a cute little story and definitely one I would recommend. The characters were super likeable. The writing was smooth and I loved the narration. Definitely a sweet read.

This was adorable. I loved the banter and found myself laughing out loud at work more than once while listening. I thought the narration was great. I enjoyed the love story between Bree and Nathan. I will be honest that I didn't realize this was a sweet romance until the end but it didn't bother me at all. I enjoyed the slow burn between the two of them and thought the story played out perfectly!
I definitely recommend and plan to read more of Sarah Adams books!

An adorable romance about friends to lovers! The characters were cute and relatable. The dialogue was fun and spunky at times. I hope the author keeps books like these coming!

The Cheat Sheet is a friends-to-lovers fake relationship romantic comedy told in dual, alternating first-person POV. It is a true standalone following the story of a professional football player and the owner of a ballet studio who have been best friends for years.
I have struggled for a long time to write this review. My goal in reading/listening and reviewing is generally to support those who create the love stories I hold so dear; so, writing a negative review is difficult for me. I want to communicate respect for all the hard work that goes into crafting these fictional retreats, but also want to give my honest opinion always.
So, I’ll get straight to it - I did not like the female narrator. I thought her portrayal of Bree sounded constantly sarcastic and almost like she was mocking the story; I recognize that this is a rom-com and Bree was admittedly a naïve, stubborn, and oblivious (when it came to the romantic feelings between her and Nathan) heroine, but I honestly felt like the tone the narrator used made it sound like she had no respect at all for the story she was reading.
Every trope in this story is among my favorites, and the humor had a lot of potential (especially when Nathan and his friends are trying to game plan his pursuit of Bree). I am quite disappointed that the narration from Renee Dorian ruined the story for me; I loved Teddy Hamilton’s sections, and I enjoyed the story itself. I think I would have to rate the audiobook as a 2/5, but I believe that if I had read this story in ebook or paperback I would have rated it a 4/5, so I averaged it out to a 3/5 rating overall.

Why did I sleep on this book?? Honestly I listened to the first chapter and I thought ehhhhh not sure this is for me. I’m so glad I can back to it because I LOVED it!! Nathan and Bree are #goals. Friends to lovers is my favorite trope, I love how much they loved each other. They were dorky and awkward and adorable and there was some great little stuff about mental health as a bonus. This turned out sooo much better than I expected. Check it out!

This story was really cute. I love that this story had a friendship as the backdrop
Bre and Nathan were the best of friends until they went to different colleges and Nathan got drafted to play football.
Six years later, they reconciled and their friendship once again resumed. Except, Nathan wanted to be more than friends. I liked this story because Bre had to deal with her own professional and personal disappointment as her dream to dance didn’t materialize but at the same time, Nathan’s star was rising so fast. Their lack of clear communication was a bit of a head scratcher since they were best friends but it added some tension and angst to the story.
A cute audiobook..

I. COULD. NOT. STOP. LISTENING!
This book. I thought about it all day while at work, I snuck minutes here and there just to listen! I absolutely loved Bree and Nathan. I loved the tension build up, loved Nathan's friends and Bree's sister. I loved everything about this book. I will be buying a physical copy and rereading as soon as it is released, highlighter at the ready.
Also, the narration was superb. I will be looking up and listening to everything narrated by Teddy Hamilton!!

What a delightful read, i love how it was a dual narrator and each played their prespective roll in this dual timeline romance. A friends to lovers romance which isn't normally my favorite but I absolutely adored it in this story. Lots of great banter, and friendships

Holy cow. This was the cutest things I’ve read in a looong time. I caught myself grinning ear to ear while listening to this audiobook. I laughed, I cried, and laughed some more. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of closed door romance, but this was cute and sexy the whole way through. I’m also a little partial to the friends-to-lovers trope. 😘
Thank you NetGalley for this audiobook!

Every time I think she cant top the last, Sarah Adams shows up to prove me wrong. The Cheat Sheet was adorable and what I picture as the standard for RomCom. I both read this one as well as listened to the audiobook and you cant go wrong with either. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
