In Kennedy Kerr’s Daughters of Magpie Cove, the third installment in the Magpie Cove contemporary romance/women's fiction series, this tale deals with family secrets, a second chance for love, and the ties that bind us together. For Connie Christie, her return to her beloved Magpie Cove in Wales had a rough welcoming return. She ran into Alex Gordon, someone she knew from her past schooling days, at the pub. They had a rough start. Besides a family reunion with her mother and uncle, she ran across some old classmates from school that gave her a hard time. Someone had been stalking her and leaving her nasty notes, while she worked as her family’s museum manager and tour boat guide across the waters. As she had gotten closer to Alex, the more she was in peril to stay at her hometown. She didn’t know who wanted to do something harmful to her, though she wanted it to stop before it would drive her away. Would she follow her heart to stay at home with Alex or take a chance on her dream career?

This compelling contemporary romance pulls at your heart and deals with bullying, mental health, and finding true love unexpectedly. This is beautifully written and heart-wrenching to see what Connie had gone through. I also cared for Alex as he became the hero for her and loved her with his heart. The location of Magpie Cove, Wales, took you places with lovely scenic settings. The theme of the story is love one another and bury the past since people can change over the years.

This moving romance tugs your heartstrings. I rated this book, four out of five stars, because I would’ve loved to see Alex’s POV. If you love women's fiction novels and contemporary romances with non-stop dramatic action, plenty of romantic intrigue, and heart-stopping twists and turns, Daughters of Magpie Cove will make you weep. This is recommended for fans who love contemporary romances and women's fiction novels like Marion Keyes, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Susan Wiggs, and Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Thank you to the publisher, netgalley and the author for allowing me to read this eARC, I feel so blessed to be able to have critical conversations about great books and recommend books to my book club.

This is a beautiful women's fiction novel by Kennedy Kerr, I have never read her books before but I enjoyed this book a lot as it was slow but heartwarming and makes you feel like you are in the novel.

This third installment in the Magpie Cove series is easily my favourite. The first one was good but the second one turned out to be disappointing (for me) so I wasn't sure what to expect from the third book. With a plotline that involves a history of family feud/rivalry, smuggling, piracy and a touch of mystery, Magpie Cove truly comes to life in this book. I honestly couldn't find anything to dislike in this book. Loved it!

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture and the author Kennedy Kerr for the e-Arc of the book.

A heartwarming and emotionally satisfying tale about starting over, the power of forgiveness and finding somewhere to belong, Kennedy Kerr’s enjoyable new novel Daughters of Magpie Cove is just the ticket for a cold winter afternoon.

When Connie Christie’s mother summons her back to Magpie Cove, she is not exactly thrilled at the prospect. The cove is full of bad memories Connie is not exactly keen on revisiting and besides, taking over the family business as her mother had suggested, is the very last thing she wants to do. Connie imagined a life far from the cove and not managing the tiny coastal museum that has been in her family for generations. However, when she returns back to the cove, Connie quickly realises that this town is in her very bones…

No sooner has she returned back home that Connie begins to fall under Magpie Cove’s spell anew. With the museum currently struggling, Connie vows to do whatever it takes to save the business from going under. When she discovers a dusty box containing her great-grandmother’s diary, Connie is immediately intrigued and the more she reads about her ancestor, the more she finds herself drawn into her story and the more she realises that within these pages she might find the answers to questions that have plagued her her entire life.

Since Connie has settled back in the cove, she feels renewed, reenergized and like she has at long last found somewhere she belongs. A chance encounter with local entrepreneur Alex Gordon has Connie wondering whether romance might be in her future – until a face from the past returns to Magpie Cove that threatens to jeopardize the new life she has built for herself back home.

Will Connie end up having to leave Magpie Cove again? Or has the time come to finally vanquish old ghosts and put down roots in the place that has come to mean the world to her?

A glorious Cornish escape I loved curling up with, Daughters of Magpie Cove is a wonderful tale about following your heart, healing from old wounds and forging forward even when everything seems hopeless that touches the heart, brings a smile to one’s face and will have readers reaching for the tissues.

Kennedy Kerr writes about real characters readers relate to, warm to and root for. They are flawed, strong, vulnerable and believable and they will feel like old friends by the end of the book.

Kennedy Kerr’s Daughters of Magpie Cove is an emotional and engrossing tale that is hard to resist.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the oppotunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

Magpie Cove would a be a lovely place to visit. The people who live there, who we have met over the last three books are lovely. Wandering the beaches of the coves, checking out the smugglers's cove, what a way to relax.

This is the third book in the Magpie Cove series, but could easily be read as a stand alone book. In this book we meet Connie Christie. Her work at a theater house has come to an end due to funding and she is faced with the prospect of having to move home to live with her Mom, in Magpie Cove. Connie agrees to the move and takes over the Smuggler's Cove museum and Pirate boat tours for her ailing uncle. Connie throws herself into her work, but keeps running into Alex Gordon, whom seems to rub her the wrong way every time. Why does he bother her so much and why does she find herself drawn to him?

Meanwhile, someone is not happy to have Connie back in Magpie Cove and she wonders if the person eaving threatening notes is the same person from her highschool days who tormented her and frightened her so much. Then, Connie starts to wonder if the person is Alex.

This was a nice read, great characters and an enjoyable storyline of what is a cute, cozy love story in the end. I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book in this series.

Another great read from Kennedy Kerr with further adventures in Magpie Cove. Daughters of Magpie Cove primarily focuses on the age-old feud between two families, the Christies and the Connors. We see how it affected each family through the generations, right up until the present day when Connie Christie returns home to Magpie Cove and continues to receive threatening notes and the feeling that she is being watched, just as she did all that time ago when she was at school.

With talk of smugglers and disused tunnels, gossipy village life, and the wildness of the sea, we can't be anywhere else but Cornwall. Who else reads books like these and wants to go and explore those tunnels for themselves?!

Kennedy Kerr drew me into the story from the beginning, from wanting to grab a pint at the new pub, to relishing those cakes at Maude's Bakery. For those of you who have read either of the other two books in the Magpie Cove series, you'll be reacquainted with some familiar faces, even if only fleetingly. There is Lila, Mara, and Maude, each getting on with their own lives but still very much a part of Magpie Cove life.

This can easily be read as a stand-alone novel, but why not read all three and immerse yourself in life around Magpie Cove. If you love contemporary romance with a hint of mystery thrown in, then check this one out.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of Daughters of Magpie Cove, by Kennedy Kerr.

Set on the coast of Cornwall in the small village of Magpie Cove. Connie returns home after the theatre she worked as a stage manager closed. Connie is not happy to be home, she has unhappy memories of being watched as a teenager. Not long after her return she finds she is being watched again and threats made against her. Who can she trust?
Connie helps her Grand Father by taking over and running his museum but struggles with the stalking and harassment and her mother’s pressure to settle down to married life in the village.
Lots of twists and turns. I loved the descriptions of the coast and the stories of smuggling history.

What happens when you go back to your childhood home where you have bad memories from?
Connie Christie’s mother asks her to come back to Magpie Cove to help her Uncle run the family business. It takes a lot of courage for Connie to return but she does.
So many suspenseful moments and lots of mystery.. Throw in some romance and twists and turns…..makes for a interesting read.
Will Connie find peace in Magpie Cove?
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A lovely, cosy small town story that has a bit of everything in it. I really enjoyed the read.

I love a cosy emotional read set down here in Cornwall. I curled up and read Daughters of Magpie Cove during the recent storm here and I couldn’t put it down. It’s just as good as the previous Secrets of Magpie Cove!

In this one, Connie returns home to help run the family museum, It’s not something she wants to do, as the cove reminds her of her troublesome teenage years. But no sooner as she’s back, it seems her past has come forward as well. The threatening messages are starting all over again. Who is leaving them? Can she trust Alex? Is it a childhood friend still holding a grudge?

Daughters of Magpie Cove is a fantastic read. Mystery, romance, intrigue, and suspense, all set on the stunning Cornish coast. You don’t want to miss this one!

Daughters of magpie Cove by Kennedy Kerr.
Magpie Cove book 3.
When Connie Christie’s mother summons her home from the city to Magpie Cove to take over the family business – a quaint, charming museum – Connie is reluctant. The cove holds nothing more than bad memories for Connie, memories she’d rather leave buried…
I did like this book. Good story and characters especially Connie and Alex. 4*.

Daughters of Magpie Cove
by: Kennedy Kerr
Bookouture
In the third of her Magpie Cove series, Kennedy Kerr delivers an intriguing story of memories, mystery, and romance set in Cornwall. The leading lady is Connie, who returns home to Magpie Cove to take over the Shipwreck and Smuggling Museum due to her Uncle Bill's failing health. Her job also includes boat tours aboard The Pirate Queen, leading tourists to learn of Cornwall's history while exploring beaches and coves.
Although Magpie Cove is quaint, quiet, and charming, Kerr deftly weaves in a thread of heart pounding events which threaten Connie's safety and seem to trace back to her high school days. As Connie works to modernize the museum and pay homage to its human history, she seeks to find out who is stalking her. Her re-acquaintance with Alex from her past leaves her torn and confused, becoming involved with him and his role in the community as a business owner.
The small coastal village atmosphere of Magpie Cove is captivating, with its artists, landscapes, shorelines, cliffs, and caves. The component of its past with smuggling and family feuds adds exciting, historical drama. Kerr's book is a perfect blend of suspense and love amid a contemporary young woman's journey of career path, loyalty to family heritage, and passion for community history. I read the book without having read the first two in the series.
Thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for the advance reader's copy and opportunity to provide my unbiased review.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Daughters Of Magpie Cove' by Kennedy Kerr.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Kennedy Kerr, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 9th December 2021.

This is the third book I have read by this author. It is also the third book in the 'Magpie Cove' series but can be read as a standalone. I have previously read the first two books in the series 'The House At Magpie Cove' and 'Secrets of Magpie Cove' which I would also recommend reading.

I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'Fans of Sheila O’Flanagan, Mary Alice Monroe and Pamela Kelley will adore it. .' I am a huge fan of Pamela Kelley so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Kennedy and if this is half as good as 'The House At Magpie Cove' and 'Secrets Of Magpie Cove' it is sure to be a gorgeous read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue and 31 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in Cornwall, UK 🇬🇧. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture. I have actually visited and had holidays in Cornwall on several occasions so am looking forward to seeing if I recognise anywhere that Kennedy has based the book on.

This book is written in third person perspective and the main protagonist is Connie Christie. The benefits of third person perspective with are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

Well done Kennedy on yet another absolutely beautiful and perfect read!! This is the ideal beach read where you could sit there and turn around and just imagine Magpie cove. The book is very well written with beautiful descriptions that completely drew me in. The synopsis and the cover match the storyline perfectly!!

The storyline itself completely swept me away. It is filled with love, friendship, secrets, mystery and drama. It kept me turning the pages late at night. I really enjoyed having the insights into Connie's life and seeing what brought all the pieces together. It was an absolutely compelling and addictive heartlifting read that kept me turning the pages until late at night. This book would make a beautiful movie!!

Although this is the third book in the series I had absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.

I was completely invested in the characters we were all absolutely fantastic with their own individual personalities and quirks. I really enjoyed learning some Cornish slang and loved that Kennedy explained some words. I also really enhoyed the historical aspects and the fact that Kennedy has done her research shines through!! I loved watching how Connie developed and went from strength to strength. It is fantastic to read about strong females who make their own way in lives and she definitely made the right decisions. It was also intriguing discovering who had been taunting her and I would never have guessed who was behind it all. There's nothing worse than a mystery that I work out within 50% of the book so a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO KENNEDY there as its getting harder to surprise me but you managed it. I loved Alex who I thought was quite sweet, romantic and just a great guy. I loved meeting some old faces again and getting to know new ones. This is one of those series which could go on and on and I wouldn't get bored. Here's to meeting them all again along with the next new faces of Magpie Cove!!

Congratulations Kennedy on another gorgeous success!!! Looking forward to my next holiday to Magpie Cove!!!

Overall a perfect mysterious beach read with a great gang of characters!! Pick this up and kept swept away at Magpie Cove.

Genres covered in this novel include Romance Novel, Domestic Fiction, Contemporary Romance and Holiday Fiction amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of as well as fans of Nicholas Sparks and any lovers of a book that you can float away with at the beach!!!

238 pages.

This book is just £1.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

Another Magpie Cove novel which swept me away. I was hooked from the beginning to the end, only putting it down when I had to go out or sleep. Connie is home to look after the family's museum and boat trips but her heart lies in Plymouth as a stage manager. What will she do? You need to read it to find out!

Great to be back in Magpie Cove on the amazing Cornish coast. As with the other books in the series this book draws you in from the first pages and is a good mixture of secrets and a slow burning romance while also dealing with important issues of bullying and the affects on mental health. Great story and well worth reading the whole series

Returning home to take over the family business proves no easy task for Connie Christie. Assailed by bad memories, Connie is about ready to leave as soon as she arrives. However, Connie knows her mother and uncle really need her help, so does her best to build up the family’s museum by creating new exhibits and strumming up business.

At least one person is not happy about Connie’s return to the lovely Cornwall village of Magpie Cove. She begins receiving threatening notes and these disturbingly remind her of how she was bullied as a teenager. She is saddened and shocked that it seems to be happening yet again. When Alex Gordon shows a strong interest in Connie she begins to wonder if she possibly might have a future there, but doubt still lingers.

Despite the issues Connie is having, making Cornwall her home just might be a possibility. The story was intriguing, with a nice balance of suspense, family and romance. This sweet third book in the series could very well be read as a stand-alone, but the series is just so warm that reading the previous two books just might be enjoyable. They are The House at Magpie Cove and Secrets of Magpie Cove.

I loved the story behind the age-old smuggling that was part of the village’s history, and with the stalker element, it all balanced quite marvelously with the slow-burning romance. A beautiful book indeed.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Connie’s mother asks her to leave the city and come home to Magpie Cove and take over the family business. A charming coastal museum in the wonderful town of Magpie Cove. Even though Connie is reluctant to return home, she does anyway. The quaint museum is struggling to keep going, but it is a cornerstone of the little community. Connie is determined to make her new adventure a success and save the museum that has been in her family for generations. When Connie finds her great-grandmother’s diary in an old box in the attic, it reveals things about her that she never knew. When Connie befriends local entrepreneur, Alex Gordon she begins to realize that she is exactly where she loves to be. But, when someone from her past arrives in Magpie Cove, she wonders if she must leave for good and never return. This awesome romantic suspense has all the feels. This author completely pulls you into the story and whisks away to Cornwall. I am always happy to return to wonderful Magpie Cove it’s such a gorgeous setting perfectly described by the author. The quiet, quaint town is one that you can’t wait to get too and never want to leave. I love the mystery of the story and the plot twists and turns where very engaging. This rapid page turner is one that will definitely stay in your heart for a long time. I absolutely loved the amazing addition to this series. This series is one to be cherished for a long, long time.

Thank you Kennedy Kerr for another wonderful installment to the Magpie Cove series. This series is a wonderful escape to Cornwall, one that shouldn’t be passed up. I loved everything about this entire series, and I highly recommend it.

This is book three in the Magpie Cove series. They can all be read as stand alone stories, but are best enjoyed when read in order.

In this instalment, we meet Connie, who has returned to Magpie Cove to run her uncle’s museum.
As Connie settles back into Magpie Cove, she begins to enjoy life, until her past rears it’s head in a most unpleasant way.
Who is out to get Connie and why?

It was lovely to take another trip to Magpie Cove and the warm community that lies within the pages of this book.

There was a darker side to this story, but it was ultimately uplifting and a feel good read.

Gripping, romantic, charming and full of suspense.

An unputdownable read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Connie's mother asks her to come home and help out at the museum, she does. After arriving, the same things that happened when she was a teenager are happening again. Someone is stalking her. She runs into Alex, and their first two encounters aren't very pleasant. But as time goes by, they get along much better, and he convinces Connie to tell the police about what is happening to her. She does but seems she doesn't know who is doing it to her, there is nothing they can.
Connie, tries to go about her life, but she is living in fear. The story will grip you, and you will at times feel her fear. Connie confronts a person she thinks it could be and finds out it wasn't her, but things get more intense after that. I couldn't put the book down until I read it all.
I received an ARC from Bookouture through NetGalley.

Wow - what a great read this proved to be
I hope you'll try it and then agree!
Ideal for anyone wanting small community and romance
Along with mystery, suspense and giving others a chance!

Connie Christie returns to Magpie Cove once more
To this Cornish seaside community she used to adore
But weird messages, stalking and being watched, too
Took away her joy and made escaping what she'd do.

Now she's back to stay, at least for a while,
Taking charge of the family museum and upping its style.
But when the frightening messages start coming again
Is she brave enough to remain?

Who could the perpetrator be?
Is it a he or is it a she?
As her childhood peers she meets once more
Could it be one of them continuing what happened before?

New friendships are possible, but who can she trust?
Being wary and careful is really a must.
There's even the possible chance
Of her being part of a new romance!

What a fantastic read it proved to be,
Complete with romance and mystery.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you will too,
A heartwarming story where dreams come true.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.
