Gotta say, I thought I saw where this book was going and I was sooooooo wrong. Interesting read. Lucy Foley did another good job of spinning a good mystery and throwing a curveball. If you like domestic suspense, pick this one up.

This was my first book by Foley, and unfortunately, this one just was not for me. The synopsis of this caught my attention, but I think it was a bit too much of a slow burn personally.

To be honest, I think this should have been a dnf for me, but I kept holding out hope that something would happen and it would hook me, but that point never came. Not that I necessarily need to, but I wasn't rooting for any of the characters and didn't like or feel connected to any of them. When a book is slow, I find that if I get one of these factors, it's much more enjoyable. The ending did surprise me, but that was really the only saving grace. I don't have much more to say about this one 😕

The Paris Apartment was a fun mystery with a really unique cast of characters. I ended up not being surprised or excited by the ending, and found the Person of Interest rather dull. But, I did enjoy the multiple POV and it kept me reading! I think a lot of mystery readers will like this, and readers who enjoy putting together a puzzle.

This was a fabulous book with twists and turns I didn't see coming! I loved the end! I was enraptured by the characters and the different perspectives we got throughout the book. I also really enjoyed how it read very much like a movie and played out the same in my head.

When Jess goes to Paris to visit her brother Ben, she is surprised when Ben isn’t at his apartment when she arrives. Something isn’t right, and as the days pass she realizes something isn’t right with the luxury apartment building he has been staying at, and that the other occupants might be more than meets the eye. The Paris Apartment promises mystery and a cast of characters with secrets to hide, but it fails to deliver on any of it. The writing drags, the mystery is anything but (it’s quite obvious what is going on from very early on), the characters and their interactions fall flat, and I struggled to care about anything that was going on. Quelle déception!

Another psychological thriller from the author of the Hunting Party.
Fans of her previous books will enjoy.

This book didn't really make a lot of sense to me. I liked it, but the situational irony was just too much to believe. Readers who are not willing to "reach" for a story will not enjoy this book at all. Some of the backstory and the twists weren't believable and this will be offputting for some readers.

Knowing the authors reputation for writing mystery thrillers, I decided to give this missive a try and I was neither impressed nor disappointed. As mystery thrillers are not typically my cup of tea, I found this story hit all of the stereotypes that keeps the genre from ranking high on my anticipated reading list.

Jess needs a place to stay, so she hits up her half brother. When she arrives at his residence, she finds a fancy building with questionable tenants, but no sign of Ben. As she digs deeper and asks around, she starts to realize that all is not as it seems at this apartment building. Dun dun dun!

This is a thriller about a woman who goes to stay with her half brother at his apartment in Paris, but she arrives to find him missing, and she slowly discovers that something weird is going on with all the other residents of this building. She’ll have to get to the bottom of that riddle before she can find out what became of her brother.

This one was on the slower side for a good portion, but when it sped up, it really hit its stride and things came together beautifully. I’ve found that the story has really stayed with me - it’s the kind of book I keep chewing on, and thinking about how good of a job the author did well after I’ve put the book down, which is a major compliment.

I was just underwhelmed by this story line. I found myself bored through most of the book.
There was no one person in the book that I liked. I felt like I have read this story before.

Lucy Foley knows how to add in a good twist or two! She did not disappoint with The Paris Apartment. This thriller follows the disappearance of journalist Ben Daniels. Ben's sister, Jess, came to Paris only to find her brother missing. Once she starts digging into his neighbors she finds herself deeper and deeper and not everyone wants their secrets revealed.

This was a solid whodunnit and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a locked room mystery and a quick read.

Jess is on the run and begs her brother Ben for a place to stay. When she arrives at his Paris apartment, he's nowhere to be found. The longer Jess sticks around, the more she is convinced that something terrible has happened. She sets out to find out the secrets of the building's residents, but people keep secrets for a reason. Soon, she finds herself in a dangerous spot, and there's no guarantee she'll make it out of this alive.
This was my first read by Lucy Foley, and my gut says I should have tried another title first. This was a solid thriller, with family intrigue, a locked room mystery, social power dynamics, and numerous unreliable narrators. Some of the twists along the way are predictable, but it does come to a realistic and satisfying conclusion.

The Paris Apartment was a highly anticipated read for me and it did not disappoint.

It had a unique cast of characters, I loved that it was in Paris but would have liked a more Parisian ambiance to the story.

I enjoyed the numerous plot twists and I highly recommend.

The setting could not be more perfect for, in my opinion, Lucy Foley's most gripping novel yet. A young woman arrives to Paris to stay with her brother, but he is nowhere to be found. It's up to her to find out where he is, and what his apartment building has to do with it. This one is a real page turner, and does not disappoint for all those thriller lovers out there.

Jess is looking for a new start at her brother's apartment in Paris. But when he isn't there to greet her and doesn't show up the next day, something isn't adding up about this apartment or the people living in it.

Foley has become another one of my favorite authors. She is awesome at twists and turns and this book has them in abundance. You ask yourself throughout the book "what the hell is going on?!" A must-read for mystery readers.

The use of the different characters' perspectives provided an incredible view of the storyline.

Oh the twists! I really enjoyed this book despite it feeling slow at times. I especially enjoyed the ending twist but I felt Ben’s escapades were pretty unrealistic/in relatable.
