There's a part of me that feels that this book was just slow, and part of me wonders if it's me. Domestic thrillers are my jam, and this one seemed right up my alley! Unfortunately I had the hardest time getting into this one. Once I did and felt like it was hitting its stride, the ending was sadly a disappointment. Like I said, it absolutely could be me and this is fantastic for those who are super into the genre, but at the moment this one was like walking through molasses. You can get there, but it's slow and painful.

I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Anna-Lou Weatherley. ❤️
I enjoyed this book throughly except for the ending. It didn’t leave me satisfied, it seemed a bit weak to be honest or rushed.
Thanks to Netgalley and Anna-Lou Weatherkey fir the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.
This is a book which is a quick read with lots of twists. It is a good, light read with interesting characters. My unpopular opinion is I feel it finished off a little weak, although many disagree with me. Absolutely recommend; I may be just burned out on thrillers right now!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My first book from this author and it did not dissapoint .
I was hooked from the first chapter but did think the ending was lacking something., however I do recommend.
3.5 stars if I'm honest so I've given 4.

This is already the fifth book in the Dan Riley series, and even though I haven't read all of the previous books, I found this one reading nicely enough as a standalone. The book was thrilling, entertaining until the end. Recommended for anyone who loves a good read that doesn't waste your time.
I didn’t realize this book was part of a series when I requested it, but it read great as a stand alone as well. I really liked the writing style, although the author loved the phrase “…you see?” way too much. Very overused and to the point in got really annoying. But I liked the characters and loved to hate some others. Libby, smh girlllll was a hot mess lol. Looking forward to this authors other books.
An enjoyable read! A few good twists that I didn't see coming, but also a few that I did. I can't say I was a fan of the characters and I found it particularly annoying whenever Dan Riley said 'as my old man said...'., but it didn't put me off. Definitely worth a read.
This was such a gripping read. Full of secrets that are gradually revealed. A fascinating set of characters and a plot that keeps you guessing. Loved it!
That completely blew my mind. I’m fully attached to the characters right until the end. I loved it. Can’t even sum up all the good things about this book in one simple review.
Cheers indeed, Netgalley.
I love a book that starts off with a dinner party. This one is fast paced with lots of twists. Interesting characters but wish the ending had sucked me in a bit more.
Story 3.5
First time reading this author and would definitely try another book.
This was a good quick read. I have to admit I kept changing my mind as to who did it.
**update 5.11.22**
So I found myself thinking about this story every now and then over the last few month but couldn't remember the name. So after slogging my way through my library I found it and started to read it again for a second time.
I don't know what was wrong with me the first time I read this. Was I in a bad mood? Because this time I could not put it down!! I was reading it late into the night highly addicted to it.
Now that I've finished it I absolutely want more from this author so I purchased the first two books from kindle and can't wait to start them next.
Reading Between the Wines book review #87/135 for 2022:
Rating: 4 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 📱: The Night of the Party
Author: Anna-Lou Weatherley
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers
Available now!
Sipping thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. So many twists and turns. So many lies, deceit and secrets. You really think you know what is going on, but you don’t, and I love those type of books. With that said, as soon as the killer was introduced, I knew it was going to be them just based off of the dynamics in the story. This is not my first Weatherley book and it won’t be my last. I love how she gives twists that are not unexpected or way unbelievable. I can’t wait for the next release.
Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @TheNightOfTheParty.

This was a really gripping read. I loved how the story unfolded and we learned that everyone was hiding something. It made the story flow and I enjoyed the constant of the police character.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Night of the Party by Anna-Lou Weatherley
A dinner party with friends, a daughter is murdered and the secrets come out!! I honestly didn’t like the book at first and almost quit reading it but I’m so glad I powered through because once the layers of everyone started peeling back….goodness gracious…no one and I mean NO ONE is without secrets!! Evie thought she had an angel daughter in Libby but we slowly learn what an awful person she really is and so many people who would want her dead!
I received an eARC of The Night of the Party by Anna-Lou Weatherley from Bookouture and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
4 stars for this unputdownable psychological thriller! Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Fast-paced and gripping, I recommend this book to fans of psych thrillers.
I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series.
I couldnt put this book down. The plot grabbed me straight away. I loved the twists and turns. I love a fast paced read. Even though its number 5 in the series you can still read it as a standalone. The ending was what made the book for me.
Absolutely love this book
Plenty of twists and turns
When you think you know who the killer is there’s another twist
Will have you hooked
Brilliant
Thanks NetGalley
This story was a unique twist on the missing girl trope. It is a fast paced and seriously addicting thriller. It jumps right into the action. When teenage Libby doesn't come home after promising she'd be home by 10:30, panic ensues. You don't know much about what happened to her yet but we do know that Libby is not the perfect angel her parents think she is. In reality, she is a wicked party girl who likes to hang out at dive bars with older tattooed men. It's possible that she may be one of the most unlikable characters ever. Honestly, the girl felt like a sociopath. Libby's secrets are deadly. Many people have reason to want this girl dead...but who would hurt her? The author does a great job of using multiple POVS to create surprises and cliffhangers, but also weaving the story together. We also have flashback sequences, which give us more answers but also more questions. It was a fun guessing game. I stayed up WAY too late trying to finish this one. I can see this being turned into a deliciously dark mini series- like Mares of Eastown on HBO. It's binge worthy.
Stunning to read, absolutely brilliant. Clever, sharp and incisive. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but it is a must read.
