I really enjoyed The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane, so I was excited to have the opportunity to read and review Only Home with You. It did not disappoint. This was such a cute, fun, small town novella. This story was a well written and the hero and heroine (Zoe and Devin) had a compelling ride to their happily ever after. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future. Huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.
Jeannie Chin provided us with an interlude back in Blue Cedar Falls with this novella as we wait for her next novel, Second Chance at Blue Cedar Falls. This sweet love story provided a welcoming back into the community I fell in love with during The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane. It was nice to see friendly faces and get to know more about Zoe, a very minor character from Sweetbriar Lane, and Devin, a new face in this novella. I felt that Jeannie Chin packed a punch in this novella giving readers a full story, which I don't feel is often given in novellas.
I hope we get to see more of Devin and Zoe in future novels along with more of Harvest Home. By providing more of Blue Cedar Falls in this novella, it makes me think that Jeannie Chin can provide more stories in Blue Cedar Falls, if she'd like, once she's done telling the love stories of the Wu sisters.
Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for providing me with a copy in exchange for my honest review.
I just love when we get an extra novella to tie us over with the series. This is a perfect novella! Book one was wonderful and now I’m even more excited for book two! We get a cute story of big brother BFF - small town- home from college love story! It’s out now and perfect if you need some quick- not super steamy romance!
Here we are back in Blue Cedar Falls. I enjoyed my first time there and I'm happy to say my second visit was just as nice. You meet Zoe in the first book and I'm glad she was given a story.
What I really loved about Only Home with You is the fact that it didn't feel like a novella. I didn't feel cheated out of a complete story. I totally enjoyed their story and loved how they fell in love with each other. It seemed so seamless. Of course, they really didn't need the 'getting to know you' part of their relationship since they've known each other for a long time.
I so loved Devin and felt bad for him. His childhood was so bad and you felt so sorry for him. Thankfully he had people in his life that helped him through it. He's such a great guy and you won't be able to not like him.
The romance between these two is cute and heartwarming. I liked how much they enjoy each other and want to be with the other. Of course, if Zoe didn't make a move who knows how long it would have taken Devin. I get it, she's his best friend's sister. This was a lovely story and I was glad to go back to Blue Cedar Falls. Did I mention that I love the title?
I thought the first book in this series, The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane, was absolutely charming so I was more than happy to read a novella set in the town of Blue Cedar Falls. I have to put this disclaimer that I am not a big novella reader in general (I like big commitments I guess, haha), but this definitely surprised me with how much it was able to cover in a short amount of time. It surprised me in a good way. This quick read was just as charming as the first in the series, and I thought Zoe and Devin had a lot of chemistry that worked within the confines of a novella. I was impressed!
I think Jeannie Chin put together another absolutely charming romance and I am not mad about it. I think if you have not read The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane or this book, this is a romance series worth putting on your radar, especially if you like romances set in small towns. Each character and their backstory is well-written. Their storylines are compelling and the romances worth rooting for.
It says a lot that it was able to win over a non-novella reader like myself. I got invested in these characters in a short amount of time and cared about what happened to them right until the end. I am also very excited about where this series will go next. I think this is an underrated series definitely deserving of more readers. It is charming from beginning to end.
Thank you to Forever Publishing for this read in exchange for an honest review.
I am thrilled to have this novella to read to tide me over until the next book in this series comes out! I absolutely love the diversity represented in this series. The characters are all so unique and I loved returning to them! The romance was sweet and spicy! 🔥 This was a great addition to the series!
I loved Zoe in The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane, and I was thrilled not to have to wait long for a story for her. If you love the best friend's brother trope like I do, then this one is for you.
Both Zoe and Devin volunteer at Harvest Home, a food bank and soup kitchen. I loved reading about it and the impact it had on Devin as a child. The two main characters are both such good people, and the book left me with such positive feelings.
I sometimes find novellas too rushed. That wasn't at all the case here. It was the perfect amount of story for the length. And I felt there was great growth in Zoe and Devin's relationship. This was a fun afternoon read
Thank you to Forever for this novella. These opinions are my own.

A sweet novella about a couple- Zoe and Devin- who do their best to resist one another but, well, you know what's going to happen. She's biding time and trying to figure out where she wants to be while he's more grounded and established. I'd not read Chin before and this small taste of her work makes me want to seek her out again. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
I was delighted to receive an invitation to read this new novella by Jeannie Chin. Time wise it falls between "The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane" (Blue Cedar Falls series) and its sequel to be published later this year. Zoe is home after graduating from college and is crushing on her older brothers best friend Devin. He started noticing Zoe after she graduated high school but is unsure if he can cross out of the friend zone. I love that Zoe is the instigator to move things along. It works in a novella format because they have known each other so much of their lives. Even with the shortened format the author brings in playfulness, passion and a smidgeon of drama. I loved getting to spend a couple of hours with these characters in the small town of Blue Cedar Falls, NC. And I can't wait to read the next in the series. Thank you to the Forever and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. (4.5 stars)
Chin’s second installment In her series is just as good as the first one. Zoe has a degree she never wanted and is back in town, trying to figure out her next move. Devin has wanted Zoe for years, but it’s complicated. Zoe has been waiting for Devin to make a move, but can’t wait any longer. I liked that Zoe finally took the bull by the horns and made things happen. I liked that both of them are family oriented and have goals.
It’s a comfortable read about a picturesque town that everyone would want to visit, and even reside permanently.
This was a fun treat that showed up in my inbox this morning. It's a novella that will bridge the gap between the first and second book in the Blue Cedar Falls series. It is a best friends little sister romance involving some of the side characters from The Inn on Sweetbrair lane. It was fun to return to this world. The book packed a full plot into a novella and it really worked. I'm now very excited for the next book in the series.
There is a lot packed into this short story. Sweet romance, family issues, work problems, a little steam, and more. Engaging reading.
