Ann Saffi Biasetti presents suggestions for self-compassion through stories of her own experiences. The card format, rather than the audio format, may be a more beneficial way to interact with the suggestions.
Nicely designed cards, each one filled with good information and exercises to practice to bring more self-compassion into your life. Some of them were a bit wordy, but overall very helpful.
Dr. Ann is amazing! You feel like you're talking to your best friend when you read her cards. There are so many that I've read and think the card was written for me. This deck is distinguished from the others through the practices it offers on the back of each card. These cards have helped me to become more compassionate towards myself every day. These cards are my way of practicing self-compassion everyday. Thank you, Dr. Ann!
This was just what I needed at just the right time. I stumbled across it on NetGalley and am happy that I did. I plan to read more of the author's work in the future.
Ann Saffi Biasetti is a psychologist and clinical social worker. She created this set of 52 cards to help the reader pursue their own path of self-compassion, meditation, mindfulness, and self-confidence.
There are 52 cards in the deck, and she encourages readers to use the deck and cards in whichever way works for them. You can use one card per day, or stick with a card for a week or until you feel ready to move onto the next. You can work through them in any order.
These cards are lovely, gentle reminders to take time to take care of ourselves when the world and everyone in it keeps demanding more and more of us.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this text.
These cards are great! My therapist and I have been working on self compassion a lot lately, and the addition of these cards has really helped progress things. As someone who has struggled with self compassion, I’ve found the guidance and practices provided are really helpful. I like that they provide tips on different areas where we need to practice self compassion, as well (i.e. being kind to your inner critic or permission over perfectionism). Definitely going to be recommending this to my therapist to read through and use with her other clients.
Welcoming and soothing. I suffer with anxiety and self doubt. This book has helpful practices to ease these issues. You can either work your way through the book or you can find the section that is your issue. I felt so peaceful after doing a few of these practices.
I really enjoyed this card deck. Due to the format, I am not planning to purchase a set for my library, but I do plan to recommend it to others and will also likely buy it as a gift for someone that I know. I really liked the way that there is information, as well as exercises on the backs of cards to try to implement. I have previously done a lot of reading on the topic, and so while I feel it provides some good background information, it also included nuggets written in a way that was fresh and refreshing to me.

There are 52 cards in this deck. While there are many ways to use this deck, Biasetti encourages users to work with one card at a time. Stay with your card for one week, or until you’re ready to move on to the next. Ultimately, do what works for you!
These cards are thoughtfully written. Each one encourages you to connect with your mind, body, and spirit. There are gentle reminders and positive affirmations to help you along the way. I especially love the “How Human of Me” card. I highly recommend this deck for everyone. We could all benefit from self-compassion and be served gentle reminders in our fast paced society. Thank you to NetGalley and Shambhala Publications for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
These cards are fantastic. I feel confident that anyone who used even one of the 52 cards from the deck will be able to awaken self compassion. Both sides of the cards will be helpful to users. I love the idea of carrying around a card for a week as a regular reminder of the message. Highly recommend!
This is a lovely collection of meditations and exercises for developing self-compassion. The exercises cover a variety of modes, from mental work to physical activities. All encourage growth and self-knowledge with an overarching theme of being kind and accepting toward oneself.
There are 52 cards, so they can be worked through as a weekly exercise or shared across a group. The design style is calm and simple, allowing the focus to remain on the content of the cards rather than their appearance. There is no one who couldn't benefit from spending some time on these ideas and this would make a lovely gift as well.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
