Thank you Netgalley and publishers for this eARC.
Sleigh Bells on Bread Loaf Mountain is a typical Christmas Hallmark movie in written form. It's perfect for this time of year and definitely delivers, for those expecting the typical outcome.
The novella centres on Roxanne who hates Christmas but has to go and spend it with family as its her Grandma's last.
This novella has it all, of course it has a love story in which opposites attract and the reappearance of the ex-boyfriend to shake things up, but I loved the underlying message of spending time with your loved ones whilst you can.
I can't fault this novella as it's exactly what it advertizes and gives what is expected.

Big thanks to Xpresso Book Tours and NetGalley for providing a copy!
Short and cute Christmas story!
Sure, a lot of Christmas novels are pretty predictable, but that's exactly what I need right now. And of course, there is a mountain man in this book and I can already imagine what he might look like in real life. I really liked the feeling created by the book - to be snowed in the mountains, a house in the middle of the forest, a fireplace, chopping wood and a dog by your side. It seems that nothing could be better than Christmas in a cottage with a mountain man.
Definitely, I see this book as a movie!
Thank you!

This Christmas romance had some good moments. But overall, it just fell flat. Partly it was underdeveloped, more novella, so I never felt connected and the main character felt pretty forced. Her decisions seems random and need more building at the start so I could understand her motivation and change of heart.
I received an ARC from Netgalley. Sleigh Bells on Bread Loaf Mountain, by Lindy Miller. This is a cute love story. Finding out who you are and what you want, bot what fake friends want.
I’ve been in the mood for something light and fluffy, and this was perfect….maybe even “quaint”. 😉
It’s one of those predictable ones that you enjoy because you do know what’s going to happen. A definite holiday mood book! 🎄
Roxanne is a up and coming fashion designer living the dream in New York City. With Christmas on the horizon, she decides to head home to her family’s cabin to spend the holiday with them.
An unexpected meeting with Ranger Foster however turns out to be more than she expected, and when her on and off boyfriend shows up at her family’s cabin - it’s even more unexpected!
Roxanne must make a choice on who she was and who she wants to be.
This Christmas novella is sweet and heartwarming. Roxanne is going to spend the holidays with her family, whom she hasn't seen in a while, in the family mountain cabin. After an accident, Mark, a ranger rescues her but can only get her to his cabin because of weather conditions. She is a fashion editor and not equipped for the weather conditions. Mark enlists her assistance to provide Christmas gifts for neighboring children. While it seems unlikely that Roxanne would fall for Mark and make changes needed to have a life with him, it is the season of magic!
I loved this book! All the coziness and warmth of a Christmas romance, whilst also touching on some important societal issues. Roxanne and Mark are very sympathetic characters and I loved the plot of him rescuing her and them being snowed in together. The little touches of magic were adorable and I can just picture this as a Christmas movie! This is the first book I’ve read from this author, but I’ll be looking for more of her books now.
This novel has a good, solid premise but was not executed well. I found the dialogue sluggish, drawn out and over saturated with details that I feel didn't move the action forward. I read halfway through the story and gave up because it just was no enjoyable any longer. I found the main character, Roxanne, to be vapid and uninteresting. I have trouble finishing novels where I don't like the main character. I was really disappointed overall with this book because the description was very interesting to me, but it did not live up to my expectations.
Roxanne is leaving the city for Christmas with her family for the first time in years.
An accident on the way leads her to meet Mark - they are opposites so do they stand a chance together, especially when he ex turns up wanting another chance.
Great festive read.
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. For the months of November and December I am all about Christmas books and Hallmark movies so I was thrilled to be approved for this short novel. It had me smiling from beginning to end. It had everything I was looking for in a holiday romance…a book filled with Christmas details, a love story of how opposites attract, an ex-boyfriend entering the picture, making decisions about following your dreams while exploring new exciting adventures, the importance of spending time with family while you still have them….and a main male character that immediately makes you crush on him! Ranger Mark Foster was definitely the highlight of this book!
One of my favorite parts of this book was when Roxanne was having a conversation with Grandma Myrtle about love and Christmas time. Here’s just a little sneak peak of that bonding moment that I can vividly picture being replayed in a Hallmark movie. (Grandma Myrtle: “Because it’s Christmas. The season of love - love of the deepest kind. Not the kind that can be bought in a store, either. The kind what makes Christmas so magical is in here” and she places her hand over Roxanne’s heart). ❤️
This wonderful Christmas book will be available on 12/7/21 and I highly recommend picking up a copy!
Thank you to NetGalley, Rosewind Books and Xpresso Book Tours for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sleigh Bells on Bread Loaf Mountain is a Hallmark-style story with all the holiday feels! If you're in the mood for Christmas magic or just a sweet holiday-themed clean romance, this is it. There is also a body positive theme, diversity, and wisdom from Grandma that makes this a festive treat to remember. Can't wait to see the movie!
