A sweet, feel-good historical romance with very little angst and a whole lot of fun. The plot doesn't always make sense, but it's still a delightful read the whole way through.

I wanted to love this book being on the cusp of watching Bridgerton and craving all things period, but it just fell short for me. There wasn't anything terrible about it, but overall it was just ok. The relationship felt meh, their passion... meh. The conflict was kind of silly and didn't even make sense. To me when I think of period romances I think of angst and scandal and forbidden moments... this one was very very tame compared to my expectations.

Another Martha Waters book that I enjoyed. She always has such fun characters. This one was really cute. I appreciate good dialogue between characters.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I have read all of the other books in this series and this one is my favorite. The series keeps getting better and better!

I enjoyed this series very much. The story line is amazing. It has one of my favorite trope, which is convenience marriage and is also a historical romance. Great book.

I had high hopes for Emily and Julian, but sadly, they were dashed. Julian completely trivialized Emily and does not listen to her. That pretty much killed it for me.

god I love this series. I didn’t expect emily and julian’s story to make me cry as much as it did, but I’m a sucker for a marriage of convenience. I enjoyed the second half of the book much more than the first half and wished the pacing was more even.

Emily Henry calls Martha Waters' newest book, To Marry and To Meddle, "sweet, sexy, and utterly fun." Read this book if you like historical romances.

Thank you so much to Atria and Netgalley for providing me an e-arc of this. All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

This was another fun addition to the Regency Vows series. I've been looking forward to Julian's story since we met him and this was just as fun as I'd hoped for.

I really enjoyed Emily's personal growth throughout this book. We meet her as a quiet, perfectly poised debutante. But throughout this book we get to see her loosen up and make decisions for herself. And I really enjoyed getting to see that other side of her.

I also thought the theatre was a fun premise/setting for this. It definitely set this apart from other historicals since that's not a setting we get to see very often - especially one that contains society members.

Unfortunately this book just didn't make me feel much. It was a fun, lighthearted good read. But it's not a story that will stick with me. I didn't feel the chemistry or a connection the characters or romance. And for me, a favorite book is one that illicits an emotional reaction. And I just didn't get that from this book.

But if you're looking for a quick read that's a fun twist on Victorian society, I definitely recommend checking out this book/series!

It was a light and fun read. I enjoyed watching Emily and Julian's relationship flourish from being convenient to being anything but.

It had a light level of steam, nothing explicit but steam nonetheless.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another fun book from Martha Waters! I adore the ladies in this series of books, they are always up to something. This book is filled with romance and mischief!

This is a marriage of convenience regency story… usually that is my kryptonite, but this one kind of fell a little flat for me. I definitely get why people love it, particularly people who don’t read a lot of the genre or a backlog of the genre.

I love that more and more authors are getting some mainstream treatment when it comes to historical romance and that there’s some modernization going on. That said I didn’t really grow an attachment to these characters. I am a mood reader to that could have been my issue. Overall it’s a really good story and I think there’s a huge audience for it. I will continue to check out her books.

Thank you to netgalley for my copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love this series so much and Martha Waters is one of my favourite new authors! I love these characters so much I can't wait for the rest of the series!!

I was so excited to read this book after being introduced to Emily and Belfry previously. I definitely think the instant marriage of convenience was easier to swallow after the hints in book 2. It was a slow build but the two started to get more heated up about halfway thru. Even if the trope isn't my favorite, I really did end up enjoying the story as a whole by the end.

DNF. I really liked the premise but the writing did not work for me at all. It wouldn't be fair to the book if I finished reading and gave it a low rating.

Lady Emily Turner is bordering on spinsterhood, given she's still unwed after six seasons. Any interesting suiters have been chased away by her lack of dowry and her father's large debts.

Lord Julian Belfry, has scandalized the ton by owning (and running) a theater of ill repute. He's looking to change both his, and the theater's, reputation and the best way to do that may be to wed a society lady.

Enter a marriage of convenience. Rather inconveniently they both start to catch feelings though. And what are they to do with all this sparkling chemistry between them?

This is the third in The Regency Vows series, and while I’m a huge Martha Waters fan I found myself a little less invested in these characters than I was for the last two books. I didn't feel there was as much witty banter in this one either…and you know how much I adore good dialogue. It was a really sweet and enjoyable read though, and perfect for time spent by the pool. So if you're in the mood for a little Regency romance, you might like to pick this one up. Plus, I hear there will be two more in the series, and I can't wait to pick those up!

I’ve enjoyed this book series so far and appreciate the whimsical nature of these books. That being said, this wasn’t my favorite of the series.

I don’t think it’s the fault of anything but that the two main characters in question were a little bland to me. I appreciate that the author is writing different sorts of characters. They can’t all be outspoken and feisty women! I just felt that the main protagonist did not have as many layers or have her internal conflict fleshed out as much as I would’ve liked.

That being said, it’s still an enjoyable escape to the Regency world with appearances from the prior loved characters (cough…Diana…cough) in the previous books.

This was just ok for me. I liked the main characters but would sometimes grow frustrated with them and their boneheadedness. Julian was lovely and Emily ahead of her time. Their chemistry was palpable and I wanted more of it. Not sure why they fought their feelings for so long - for most, love came after marriage. Just didn’t wow me.

This book had potential but fizzled out quickly. The problem was that there was no real conflict. Not even a hint of one. Nothing to excite me and keep me hooked.

To Marry and to Meddle was a good ending to Martha Waters Regency Vows series. I had been waiting on Emily's book since the beginning and I enjoyed reading this one. I am excited for Martha Waters to keep writing Regency titles because I think she has so much potential in this genre.
