I found this book to be exactly what I needed and wanted at the time. It was an enjoyable read and great for the Christmas season. However it did at times feel forced and I just didn’t believe it. This isn’t a new favourite but I did enjoy it.

A sexy cowboy. A beautiful nurse. This Christmas, romance is the greatest gift of all... This book is so good that I couldnt have put it down even if I had wanted too, which coincidently I didnt want too.

This is another good book from Leslie North. The two main characters are Scarlett and Travis. Scarlett is a nurse for Travis’ dad and Travis is a rodeo star. They have a mutual attraction from the first time they meet. They each have their own problems and both have to work through them. To come out the other side, to declare their love.

3.5 / 5 stars, rounded up to 4.

Cowboy’s Christmas Return is the second book in the Harvey Ranch series, focusing on the middle brother of the familyl. Travis is a rodeo star, and he’s home for Christmas for the first time in years, per a request from his niece. While he’s there to spend time with his family, he meets Scarlett, his father’s nurse, and there’s an immediate attraction between them. Scarlett has a foster son that she’s fostering, and she’s determined to give him a good first Christmas with her. As nothing seems to go right for Scarlett, she ends up spending Christmas with the Harvey family while her apartment is being repaired. I’m not going to give anything away plot wise, but this is much of what I expected from a Hallmark-style Christmas novel.

Much of my feedback from the previous book is the same as this one. I loved the characters, both the main characters and the rest of the supporting cast, and I love how we still get to see the main characters from the previous book playing a role in this one. The author’s writing style wasn’t for me, as there were times when the writing and dialogue just read awkward, but I liked the premise of the story.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I wish I could say I liked this book for a fun light read, but it fell a bit short for me. To be honest, I read about 30 pages and then put the book down for a few weeks because I just could not get into the beginning. It felt a little too forced and the characters felt a bit shallow.

That being said, once I picked it back up and kept reading, I found parts of it quite enjoyable. There were some very touching moments about love, family, and vulnerability that felt very genuine. Even though you know what’s going to happen, you root for the characters to work things out between them. It was fun and flirty, but just not exactly my cup of tea!

A cute romance set on a rural farm. Travis is a rodeo rider who is feeling dissatisfied with his life, Scarlett is his dad’s nurse. As our couple find themselves, we are taken on a satisfying exploration of their own family relationships. The author deals sensitively with issues of fostering and how hard that is on the development and deepening of ties as well as problems within families as offspring struggle to find their place.

4.25/5 stars!

When the prodigal son returns to the Harvey ranch to celebrate the holidays, he meets the heroine, wo is the nurse to his father. They are attracted to each other, but it wouldn't have been explored until the oldest Harvey brother had an accident and the hero decided to help around the ranch. The heroine is concerned about her foster son adapting to his new situation, but the prolonged exposure to the hero deepened their relationship. Will they have their happy ending?

I really enjoyed reading this Leslie North book. I enjoyed the relationship between the hero and the heroine. I don't like the hero type that this hero has as his rodeo persona, but seeing another part of this hero helped me like him in this story. I also enjoyed the holiday vibe in this book and has read enough Leslie North books to appreciate the author's writing style. I also liked the hero's family, even the father and his communication problems with the hero. I would have liked some more details added in the story but overall, it's an enjoyable addition to the series.

Cowboy’s Christmas Return by Leslie North.
Christmas at Harvey Ranch #2
A brilliant read. I loved Travis and Scarlet. How they were with each other. I love this author. Great story. I loved the cover. 5*.

This was a nice addition to the series, as Travis's story was hinted at in the previous book. Christmas didn't play as big a part in this one and the relationship was a bit straightforward. I liked seeing both characters develop, but I wasn't as invested in these characters as I was with Alex and Juniper in the first one.

Cowboy's Christmas Return has just what you need for a fun, steamy, holiday romance. When rodeo star, Travis Harvey returns to the family ranch for Christmas with his brother, nieces, and dad, he meets Scarlett. Scarlett has been Abbot Harvey's nurse for the past few years and doesn't like to let people in for fear of getting hurt but Travis finds a way into her heart.
This read is relaxing and enjoyable but North still provides character depth and strong relationship building. One aspect of the plot is that Scarlett is a new foster mom. Readers will see her build a relationship with the child but only as she learns to let down her walls and be vulnerable. I enjoyed seeing this relationship play out.
This book is good for readers that like a little bit of spice and a little bit left up to the imagination.

Unfortunately, this book was not as interesting for me as the first one. The story didn’t take me away like that of the first book and I found myself putting this title down and not really wanting to read further. I guess the story just didn’t click with me. Nevertheless, I’ll still read the third book in the series!

Another great story from this author, when Travis’s brother Alex has an accident leaving the ranch to resume his rodeo career is no longer an option as he steps up to run the ranch. His fathers nurse catches his eye but she needs long term for her and her foster son, can Travis give her that ? Everybody need somebody especially Scarlett, as she has to learn to trust that she is worth the future she deserves a. HEA.

I really enjoyed this. Romance, family, commitment, heartache and addressing, at times, difficult emotions. The way Lesley North wrote main characters, Scarlett and Travis, looking at themselves, coming to terms with what they saw and then taking a leap of faith and acting on it was beautifully written. I also thought the way the experiences both Scarlett and Denver had had of the foster care system was sensitively done as well. The writing flowed and was a heartwarming read.

A feel good Christmas romance. Definitely a perfect book to curl up with, short and sweet, just what you need as the winter nights grow closer.

Trust is a hard won thing for everyone in, Cowboy's Christmas Return. Travis is back home but does not feel needed. He shouldn't have to prove himself to his family but there you go. Scarlett seems to go one step forward and two back with her foster son. this book is a great book where second chances are given to all for the holiday's.
