Gabriella Santini had to get out of Chicago for a while and also from her Italian family especially her mother who wants her to be married, now that she has been a doctor long enough. She has arrived in Burton Springs as a temporary doctor and it has fallen in the holiday season. Though she does miss some things about her family she is enjoying her new town and when she meets Van Ferguson blacksmith and a cowboy she is looking at maybe having a fling as well. Not expect to enjoy his company a little each time they are together. Van is taken with the dark-haired beauty who can cook food he has never tasted before and just enjoys being with and around her and when he falls for her he knows he will be upset when she leaves. This is a very good story with excellent characters.
TL;DR:
- 3.5 stars
- Content warnings: unexpected death in sideplot
- A quick hot romance set in a small town, perfect to read around the holidays
Loved:
- Van and Gabriella are sweet characters who are pretty well developed for how fast the book itself goes. Their backstories and the storyline are cute as well.
- The setting of Burton Springs, MT is so hallmark-sweet perfect. How much I enjoy a book really depends on the execution of this type of setting for me and this was executed well.
- Such a quick read. Can get through it on a nice day by the fire!
Less into:
- A lot more tell than show of how much they loved each other (in their own internal monologues, no less) that was a little frustrating at times. Mainly because they weren't communicating at all and it felt like their conflict could've been avoided if they had. But that's this genre of romance for you! It's such a small nitpick, frankly.
Overall, this is a cute holiday read with nicely developed characters and an adorable story line. Pick it up for the fall and winter months.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Book wasn't meant for me. Hopefully someone will enjoy it more. I will look into renting it in the future
A charming Christmas romance that is a great escape.
Many thanks to Bell Bridge Books and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a great book. The two main characters are Gabriella and Van. Gabriella is a temporary doctor in the town wanting on a scholarship to be a surgeon. Van is a blacksmith, had a father who abused him. He landed up in jail when his father abused his mother. When his mother said it was Van that attacked her, she was lying. Gabriella and Van have an attraction and they run with it. They each have some decisions to make, together they do.. they fall in live.
Cowboy Under The Mistletoe was an enjoyable read, with a well written storyline, well developped characters, a joyful small town and a little bit of Christmas magic in the air that will keep you glued to the book.
Gabriella Santini came to Burton Springs to temporarily replace the town doctor. In the few months she stayed in Montana she made a lot of friends but she missed her family back in Chicago. Van Ferguson is the town blacksmith, Burton Springs is the first place where he felt at home. Gabriella and Van don't want to begin a relationship for different reasons but their attraction is too strong to not share, at least, some days together.
Gabriella and Van are so different, bright personality the first and reserved the latter, but together they burn and their relationship bloom, making them grow.
I finished the book in a few hours, I recommend to read it if you need something to de-stress.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
A Dr and. Blacksmith can’t deny the attraction they feel every time they are around each other. They question if starting an affair when Gabriella is leaving in a few weeks is worth it.
Gabriella decides Van was worth it and if she could only be with him for a short time well at least she had that time with him.
But feelings grow between the two and when she is offered a fellowship position can she truly leave the man she has grown to love?
I was given an advance copy by #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review which I can easily say this is a great pre-Christmas read about a Christmas romance the main character has been working with an established country doctor while he can takessome time away. She takes on responsibility and work seamlessly, has quickly earned the trust of residents all the while knowing she will be soon going back to her life in Chicago snd hopefully starting a fellowship in pediatric surgery. Her grandfather eager for her to follow in his. footsteps as well as her fathers. She has promised to set her bar high . And she does that in her own way.. In the meantime she meets the local blacksmith snd starts a relationship she vows will end at Christmas so she can return to family and traditions but it becomes something more for both of themThis romance did not disappoint. Yes I would recommend to anyone who wants a little addedwarmth this season. Thanks to #NetGalley and #PamMantovani for sharing #CowboyUndertheMistletoe
Cowboy Under The Mistletoe was a fabulous romance book to read! I enjoyed this book so much.
Gabriella has gone to Burton Springs to take over temporarily for the town doctor. She loves Christmas and does not want to spend it alone.
She takes a chance and ask Van – the local blacksmith. He is everything that she wants to spend the holiday season. She is returning to Chicago after the holiday to her regular life.
The chemistry is there for both of them and it pops for sure. The author did a magnificent job of making me really care about the characters in this book.
I would love to read more about the people in Burton Springs.
Thank you NetGalley and Pam Mantovani for the ARC. This is my personal review.
A cute story but nothing I could really get into or that kept me intrigued. It was super simple and quick to finish. Thanks to Netgalley for the copy in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Bell Bridge Books for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Christmas romance. Georgiana is filling in for a small town doctor while waiting for acceptance to a fellowship as a pediatric surgeon. Van is the local blacksmith and artisan who has seen too much. Sweet story of how Christmas brings them together to find love and acceptance.
