I really liked this sweet romance which also highlights pet adoption (a cause near and dear to my heart. I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator was fantastic and did a great job with the different voices. I do think this story in itself is probably better for a young adult or new adult as I just didn’t get the main issue (not wanting the sister aka best friend fiend out she is dating her brother). But again overall nice, sweet and fast paced. Thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

What the Cat Dragged In was just the book to help get me out of a reading slump! It was fast-paced and enjoyable, and I loved that the meet-cute was at a cat rescue event!
I think this is a fun story that lots of people will love, but my main problem was just that I wanted to see more of the two characters together before the whole "we can't be together" drama occurred. But, I don't think this will bother everyone and if you're interested you should definitely give it a try!

A fun dual perspective romance between a young lawyer and a cat cafe event planner who try to find love amidst their busy Brooklyn lives. I loved returning to the Whiman Street Cat Cafe and the great cast of characters. This story feature's Lauren's brother Josh and her employee Paige. Contains some spicy open door scenes and lots of great touristy Brooklyn adventures. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!

I listened to an audiobook version of this book and I really liked the narrator! I think they did a great job with the different characters and making the voices different enough that it was super easy to follow along. I’d recommend going with the audiobook for sure!
As for the actual story, I loved the beginning. With the two of them meeting over rescuing cats, it seemed like this would be the perfect book for me. I also enjoyed the forbidden romance aspect when they find out her one night stand was actually her best friend’s brother.
But after the discovery, things went downhill. The third act breakup seemed to happen really early on and just dragged. The characters went from tons of chemistry to seemingly having none so when they end up back together by the end, it was satisfying at all. I almost started seeing them with the other people they meet.
So overall, it was a sweet romance in the beginning but dragged on too long with the breakup for me to love the entire book. Though if you enjoy cats, forbidden romance, lots of lawyer talk and cat cafés, give this one a shot!
2/5 ⭐️

I liked this one a bit better than the first book in this series. Overall I liked the characters, and the fact that they kind of ish communicated with each other. I wasn't so sure about why Josh's sister held so much sway over their relationship. I mean, I get that she's protective of him, and that Paige doesn't want to lose a friend if the relationship ends (because that suck) But still. They're both adults, and should be able to make up their own minds about who they want to date.
It was a fast read, and I loved the cat element of it (which is why I was drawn to it in the first place.)
Thank you to Netgalley ans Sourcebooks for giving me the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy of the audiobook.

Oh my goodness! This one was pure joy. Paige works as an events planner for Whitman Street Cat Cafe and one of their pet projects is to help wrangle stray cats and while volunteering she meets Josh and they are paired up. He is there as a requirement for work to do volunteer work. After a night of wrangling strays they have amazing chemistry and hook up...until Paige finds out he is Josh, her boss's brother. Oh no, now she wants to keep their hook up quiet. This was just a fun and cute story with purrfect four-legged side characters. Just what I needed!

The second book in the Whitman Street Cat Cafe
Paige and Josh meet while doing some volunteer work and hit it off. They go for drinks and it leads to more. The morning after, Paige notices a picture in Josh's apartment where he has his arm around HER best friend. Turns out, Josh is Lauren's brother. Lauren is very protective of her brother, and Paige is afraid she will not approve of the relationship. But she really likes him. Is he worth the risk?
This is a quick read. I enjoyed it a lot, but had some issues with plot points. The conflict was weak and I hate how Paige kept offering to break up with Josh.
I listened to the audio version of the book. I am not familiar with the narrator, Suehyla El-Attar Young, but she does a good job. It is clear and well paced (I read it at 1.25 and it was still easy to follow). My only complaint is that Josh's family is from Ohio. When she narrates dialogue with his mother, she reads it with a very Minnesotan accent. As a Michigander, which basically means I speak exactly like Ohioans, it was cringe worthy.
I am going to go back and read book one. I didn't realize it was a series until I was in the middle of it. Wish I had known...
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was relatable and funny. Fast paced. I loved the instant attraction and the best friends brother thing that was going on here. I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrator. I missed the first book and plan to go back and read it. This can totally be read as a stand alone. I'm happy I found this book to read! Thank you to the publisher, Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

So...the story is cute and a very quick read BUT - I have a few issues with the story. I'd say I quite enjoyed the first 60% of the book until the "problems" became so repetitive. Josh and Paige meet unexpectedly while helping capture stray cats...and there is an immediate spark. Shortly thereafter, Paige realizes that Josh is her friend's little brother. I am sure you can guess the ups and downs that occur during the story.
BUT - here are my issues... 1. everyone is making decisions for Josh - everyone keeps telling him he isn't over his ex (no matter how much he protests), 2. Paige is so obsessed with what her friends will think of her dating a friend's sibling (even though the friends couldn't care less and the sister gets over it fairly quickly), 3. the characters are suppose to be, for the most part, in their 30s but act like they're in highschool with the DRAMA! 4. Josh is suppose to be a lawyer but sounds like a frat boy and not at all how you would expect a professional to sound.
The story was cute, incredibly predictable, and not a bad way to kill a few hours...but not a book I'd tell anyone was a must read. It was just okay.
I did throughly enjoy the narrator for the story- gave me total Sex in the City vibes. She made even the mundane pieces of the story enjoyable.
I was given an ARC of this story to read; but thoughts and opinions are all my own. Thank you to @netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the chance to read this title.

This was a cute romance book about a woman who works at a cat cafe and a man that is in his first year at a law firm right out of college. They both meet at a volunteering event to trap feral cats to have them spayed/neutered. They meet and have what should be a one night stand but find that they actually like each other and want to see if it will lead to more. The twist is she finds out that the guy is her best friends brother. She has issues about not wanting to ruin her friendship or job because the sister also happens to be her boss and best friend. After calling it quits they both find out they cant stop thinking about one another and in the end they make a life together.

Super cute and fun read. I loved the chemistry between Josh and Paige although it was a little predictable. I really enjoyed the little peeks at Lauren and Caleb's relationship from the first book too. The animal rescue aspect of these books is totally heartwarming to me as an animal lover and put a smile on my face throughout the whole book. If your looking for a quick read that's sweet and a little steamy I recommend picking this one up. I listened to the audio and thoroughly enjoyed the narration.

Cute story about Josh, a super busy first-year attorney, and Paige, who works with Josh’s sister. I enjoyed getting to know both the characters. Their story was believable and I was rooting for them to work out. I loved the cat café concept and wish we had one near us. Josh’s sister, Lauren, however, I found was not believable and unnecessarily lengthened the story. Overall, I recommend as a quick beach read.

This is a really adorable best friends brother romance! I think the author did a really great job of portraying the internal struggle that Paige went through on trying to do the right thing for Josh, Lauren and as well as herself. They almost seemed like star crossed lovers.
P.s. how cute is this cover?!

The cartoon cover is adorable and I looked forward to a cute contemporary romance with cats. Sadly this really dragged for me. Paige Danvers is an event coordinator for a cat cafe (I don't know if that is a real job). She made a lot of money working for a large bank so really only works to be with friends and do a job she enjoys. While volunteering for a night with a cat rescue she meets a Josh Harlow, a dreamy lawyer in his first year at a big firm. The pay is great but he has little time for anything else. After they have romantic sparks Paige learns he is the brother of her boss and best friend.
The characters are fine but I felt like nothing really happens. They just keep having the same dilemma, can she date her bosses brother, does he have time to put into dating. He seems to manage to make time for a few dates and she does go so it makes the whole dilemma weak and repetitive. I listened to the audio book and the narrator does a good job with what she is given. I just wanted something more. Some language and intimacy behind closed doors. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook in exchange for an honest review. (2.5 stars)

Paige is your typical girl down on luck with dating. Josh is your overworked first year lawyer trying to make it with his firm. But when Paige and Josh meet at a cat roundup event, sparks fly. It isn't till after does Paige find out that Josh is her best friend and boss' brother.
The story line was great. I wish there were more cats involved considering Paige works at a cat cafe, but love trumps animals. I like how tall the story line is about the dating aspect. It seems implausible to not know what you're best friends brother looks like, but I guess that is what made the story so interesting.
This book is very well written and the narrator (listened to the audio book) was excellent!

This was super cute!
A huge thank you to Dreamscape Media, Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for my gifted audiobook.
What I Loved-
*The Audio-Suehyla El-Attar Young was such a joy to listen to! This is my first audiobook narrated by her and I was so entertained. If the audio was being rated on it's own it would get all of the stars. Loved It!
*The Characters- I loved Paige and Josh!
*The Romance- I felt like Paige and Josh's romance was so fun and realistic. I was rooting for this couple throughout the book. What the Cat Dragged In falls into the category of best friend's brother romance.
*The Humor- I definitely laughed and smiled while listening to this audiobook. I needed that.
*The Conflict- Very well developed. I am so very glad the author wrote this couple the way she did. I so often read books where the characters don't communicate. Not the case with this book. At all. What a breath of fresh air.
Overall- Recommend. One of the best books I've read this month. I am excited to read more by this author in the future.

Just a sweet lovely book. This story is about two people living in Brooklyn trying to find their way in life. Josh is a lawyer & just moved to town. Paige is an event planner that’s not terrific in the romance department. Paige works at a cat cafe. The cafe is as much a character as Josh & Paige. I’m not a cat person (silly allergies) & after reading this book even I am tempted to go visit and adopt a cat. There are a few umm adult scenes but nothing too graphic.
I really enjoyed all the friendships and the couples. This was an extremely realistic sweet romantic story. I hope the characters are all in another story by this author.

Paige and Josh were super cute… sexy as could be! But, their story seemed to drag on just a little bit. The romance was steamy, and there were definitely some sweet parts. I loved the cat café and the supporting characters!

This was a sweet romance with the "secretly dating my sister's best friend" trope. I absolutely loved the setting, the cat café, NYC and Brooklyn were described so well. I felt like I was there discovering the sights and sounds of the city. The love interests, Paige and Josh had great chemistry. Their relationship was so cute and electric! As with all romances there is conflict. Both Josh and Paige are at a crossroads in their life where they are trying to determine their priorities between work, friends and family. What risks are worth taking? What sacrifices are worth making?
All in all this was cute. There were some parts that dragged on towards the end for me. I also got a little frustrated with Paige and Lauren, Josh's sister. I felt that the end could have had a little more substance. I enjoyed it when Paige and Josh were together. Their banter was written well. I also loved the circle of friends and the CATS!! 😻 I listened to the book on audio and it was narrated very well.

I absolutely judge books by their cover and this cover is adorable! I discovered that this is the second book in the series so I quickly read the first—super cute, loved it—before I started this one. The story itself was just as adorable as the cover, perfect for a fast, fun read! I can’t wait for the next in the series! I listened to the audio version and the narrator was perfect!!
