The Great Indoorsman is a collection of essays that cover many different topics, but nearly all focus on describing common situations and places in descriptive and unique ways. I particularly enjoyed the sections that discussed waiting rooms, coffee shops, and bowling alleys.

Unfortunately, this was a difficult read for me- it's possible that I was just not the right reader for this book, but I never felt connected to it. The writing consists of very long and rambling sentences, and a lot of the essays seemed to lack cohesion. It was like reading a stream of thoughts. For readers who enjoy this style of narration and creative nonfiction, it may be a better fit!

While some pieces of this collection were interesting, I overall felt lost and frustrated while reading it.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC to review with my honest thoughts.
