The rhyming pattern in Me and My Mama is near perfect. This story is a fun little ditty that kids will be read over and over again. I love the illustrations, especially that it shows various black families because in picture books it’s either multicultural or all white kids or animals. I love to see that representation and I think this is a fabulous book for story time and library collection.

Gorgeous illustrations. The book is organized like a "day in the life" as characters go through a day full of activities - breakfast, playtime, snacks, dinner, bath time, bedtime. I think this book will appeal to patrons looking for uplifting books about parent/child relationships.

Beautiful illustrations, short rhyming text makes for an excellent book to read with toddlers to prompt a discussion of reasons why they love their mama and how they know their mama loves them. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

The rhyming board book celebrates the many reasons that children love their moms and how much their moms love them in return. This book offers a great opportunity for parents to affirm their safe attachments with their young children and remind them of the love that exists between family members. I really like this book and would recommend it to families of children in the infant to toddler range of 6 months to age 3 or so. My only wish is that wonderful children's books like this one offered similar stories about other family members because families are so diverse and loving your nana, daddy, auntie or foster parent are also important bonds that need just as much if not significantly more opportunities to affirm and solidify.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this lovely book.

Weatherford presents a sweet and simple rhyming story about mothers and their little ones, and the happy days they all spend together. The bold and colorful illustrations by Ashleigh Corrin are a perfect compliment to the text.

Such a very sweet ode to a mother's love! The book follows the activities of a day shared between mother and child, from eating to playing to getting ready for bed. The story is told in rhyme, so it has a soothing rhythm and can be used a game to identify rhyming words. The illustrations are soft and lovely and show a beautiful variety of moms and kids. This would make a great bedtime book for toddlers and young pre-schoolers and could definitely become an oft-repeated favorite!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I love this picture book of different Black moms and daughters going about their day together: playing, reading, nurturing. The simple rhymes are charming, and I think young children will love the vibrant illustrations.

What an adorable way to show how Mama is always ready for her child, whether playmate, doctor, or just a helper. No matter what the child needs, Mama has got it covered. Great bedtime story!
I received an advanced reader copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
