I didn't realise this was a book that's a few years old but it didn't impact my reading, nor was it apparent when I was reading it.
This is a small town (nearly second chance) romance (the female MC knows the male MC's brothers). The male main character suffers an injury putting his NHL career on hold while he recovers. He's returned to town to help out his parents and is doing repairs around their house. He meets the owner of the hardware shop when he's late to buy a Christmas tree. He makes multiple trips to the hardware shop and she has some of his interest by the number of times he visits!
The steam in this book comes out of nowhere - she wants an experience and is sick of small-town. He's happy to provide it. There's some nice scenes where he plays hockey with her nephew and a background storyline of a community festival and a struggle for judging rights of a competition.
Other than the "loving" which is open door and super racey, this is quite a gentle romance.
I've read a few other of Skye Jordan's books and really enjoy them.
