Having just broken up with her boyfriend, London Spark is not in the mood to be hit on. Especially not when she’s out celebrating her single status with her sisters. So when a very attractive man pays for their drinks and then slips her his number, she passes it right back to him with a ‘thanks, but no thanks’. As the business administrator for their family’s event hotel, the Spark House, London has more important things to worry about, like bringing in new clientele.
As luck would have it, a multi-million-dollar company calls a few months later asking for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, and London is eager to prove to her sisters, and herself, that she can land this deal. Just when she thinks she has nailed her presentation, the company’s CEO, Jackson Holt, walks in and inserts himself into the meeting. Not only that, but he also happens to be the same guy she turned down at the bar a few months ago.
Funny, emotional, and true, this romance has all the elements that make for great reading. This one is pretty high on the enjoyment meter! Recommended. #Starry-EyedLove #NetGalley #SaltMarshAuthors
I really enjoyed this second installment of the Spark sisters. Man meets woman. Man gets shot down by woman. Man is billionaire. Ohhhh intriguing! lol. Avery drove me NUTS in this book and I liked her in When Sparks Fly! Holy annoying. Hopefully Avery gets over herself in the third book. Or is even less of a side character please. London and Jackson were great together. It was cute and fun and just this side of steamy. I definitely need to visit Helena Hunting's backlog while waiting for Harley's book!!
3.5 stars rounded up-Starry Eyed Love is the second book in the series about the Sparks House and the sisters who run it. London Sparks runs the family event hotel, the Spark House with her sisters. When a multi million dollar corporation is interesested in a partnership with the hotel, London never dreams the head of the company will be the guy she shot down in a bar a few months before. Jackson cannot believe his luck when runs back into London and the attraction is stronger than ever. Both victims of bad relationships, trust doesn’t come easy for either one of them as they chart a course through the tabloids and a whole load of drama to their own HEA. I enjoyed London as a character but hated the back and forth drama that Jackson brought with the whole was she using him for his connections. Overall I enjoyed the second Sparks sister’s story but not as much as Avery’s which is still ongoing in the background of this book. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.
Absolutely charming rom-com! You can’t help but fall in love with London and Jackson. Jackson sure knows how to woo! These two will have you rooting for them. I can’t wait for what’s next! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy!
The middle Spark sister is up for finding romance and...well, timing is everything, isn't it? I mean, London first interacts with Jackson when she was fresh out of a new relationship and she knows herself well enough to know he'd only be a rebound. Seeing as she wasn't interested in making a new mistake so fresh off her last one, she declined his overtures and moved along.
Then she meets the big guy again a few months later and HEH. He pushes all her buttons, my friends. He's hunky and intelligent and he's still interested in her. Working together only deepens their attraction to one another, which makes things a wee bit complicated since there's a whole business aspect they need to factor in. As in, Jackson doesn't feel comfortable pursuing London romantically when he holds such power over her in the scope of their business dealings.
Yeah, complicated.
As for Jackson, he takes a few missteps with London. Mostly because he wasn't great communicating certain things at the right times. Then there's a whole other issue regarding a past relationship that tangles things up even more. COMPLICATED!
A chance meeting at the right time, some sisterly friction, a woman who's close to burning out, and a man who doesn't always see what's in front of his face. *thumbs up*
London Spark is one of the three sisters who run Spark House, a hotel and event center that was started by their grandparents. London is struggling with wanting to run the business with her sisters. But also following her own passions. When she meets media entrepreneur Jackson Holt, she is immediately smitten, but his company had just entered into a partnership with Spark House. Jackson and London spend two months flirting with each other until finally they act on their feelings. There was a lot of anticipation in them finally getting together, but when they did Jackson wasn’t honest about the depth of his relationship with a woman at his company. London broke it off. They were both miserable until they finally get back together and (hopefully) live happily ever after. Along the way, London and her sisters have to deal with the growth of their business and the need to bring in help outside of the family.
Thank you SMP for a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Overall, this book (and the whole series so far) was fine. This was a quick read but nothing special compared to other romance novels I've read. I think I'm missing the banter and spark from the Pucked series which I LOVED. If you want something light and easy I do recommend picking it up - a perfect beach read.
Such an amazing book, I loved it from beginning to end. Both Jackson and London were great characters, I loved the chemistry between them. They each had past relationship issues and were afraid to admit them. This book was such a great read, I didn't realize I gotten near the end until it was over. One of the best books I have read this year.
I liked the first Spark sisters book and I do think I might like this one a little better.
Maybe because I am a creative soul myself and I enjoy folding stars too.
This is a book I will put on my reread list for sure
4,5/5 stars
Spark House sisters are back! After reading When Sparks Fly I was excited to read Starry-Eyed Love and it was definitely just as cute and fun as the first book. I love collections of books like this where each story is focused on different characters but we still get a glimpse at the characters from the previous books, it was nice to see Avery and Declan again. I was quite excited for London's story as she gave the appearance of being the more serious one of the sisters but there is really so much more to her. I loved seeing the progression of her Etsy shop throughout the book and her starting to find more time for doing what she truly loves.
And the romance..... It was just wonderful. As London's luck would have it, Jackson, the very man she turned down a while back just happens to be the CEO of the multi-million-dollar company that is interested in working with Spark House. I enjoyed Jackson and London having more of a friendship at first before jumping into a relationship, even if it was very obvious that there was lots of chemistry between them right from the start. I thought their relationship progressed nicely. There was definitely some miscommunication between the two, as well as between Jackson and an ex, that definitely seemed a bit immature in the way it was handled. The whole situation was worked out in the end and I thought it got cleared up well.
I think Jackson definitely helped and encouraged London to stand up for wanting more time to spend on her own interests. It led to an important conversation between the Spark sister which I was glad to see happen. I think the London's story ended really well and I was happy to see her be able put more focus into what really matters to her.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the ARC
A nice, easy, late-night-insomnia read.
London, fresh from a breakup, celebrates with her sisters by going out and getting hammered; a guy slips her his number, and later turns up wanting to do business with her hotel. He's an environmentally-conscious zillionaire, and you know exactly where it's going from there.
And Hunting delivers the goods. I loved the sisters especially. While the book didn't stand out, the romance was sweet, and the book left me smiling. That's a real plus these days.
great book and had me on my seat. I enjoyed the characters and all that happened in the book. I enjoyed being in this world and seeing the growth of the characters. I enjoyed the drama of the story and I can't wait to read others books by this author.
What's not to love! Jackson is my man crush! The relationships between London, Avery, and Harly is amazing. I can't wait for the next book!
Starry-eyed Love is such a wonderful, entertaining, heartwarming read that put my heart through the ringer.
This is London Sparks story and it really packs a punch, I loved everything about it and read it in one sitting!
There is something special about a book that grabs you from the start to the end and makes you want so much more.
London is a creative, caring, heart on her sleeves woman, shes sassy, fiery and a talker. She does her utmost to help her sisters with running Spark House. When an exciting opportunity comes their way, she jumps at the opportunity, albeit until she sees the CEO. Needless to say this book is nothing short of entertaining and I just thoroughly enjoyed every word.
A book to put high on your tbr list for sure!
I enjoyed reading ‘When Sparks Fly’, so when I recognised the characters and saw this book was London’s story, I was excited to read it.
Focusing on London, the middle sister, this book felt like a modern day fairytale story.
Having just got out of a relationship, London is enjoying an evening out with her sisters, when a handsome and generous guy picks up their tab, and offers his number. Not being in the right head space, London politely declines.
As, London is trying to juggle working at Spark House while trying to balance her personal interests. So when a multi-million-dollar company calls a few months later asking for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, London is eager to prove to her sisters, and herself, that she can land this deal.
Poised and ready to go, London feels great and fully capable until the CEO Jackson decides to sit in on the meeting. Not recognising him straightaway, Jackson turns out to be the handsome and generous guy from a few months ago, the guy who asked London out.
The more time they spend in each other’s company, London and Jackson attempt to remain professional, all the while their undeniable chemistry crackles and is ever present.
When Jackson’s secretive past and London’s struggle with juggling the relationship between her sisters and Spark House becoming more and more busy, it leaves London questioning how to make it all work.
Second book in the Spark House series and I thought it was as enjoyable as the first but this one is definitely a slow burn romance, so it might take some time for some readers to get hooked into the story.
As I said this is a slow burn but I liked reading how London and Jackson's relationship develops, how their feelings start to change and grow, there is also quite a bit of humor is great.
I think Helena does a great job writing characters that feel authentical and that are easy to relate to. It's a bit more emotional and not as funny as the first book I'd say but still this is a well written and entertaining contemporary romance and I'd recommend it. I'm really hoping we get Harley's book next!
When I got the ARC, I had no idea this was the second book in a series. But it doesn't seem like it when I read this story, which is super cute and charming by the way! The plot keep me reading because I wanted to see London succeed in a career and love. I needed a lovely book to enjoy during the winter and this was it for me!
I really love the Spark sisters, and after reading and enjoying When Sparks Fly I was looking forward to reading Starry-Eyed Love. This book focuses on the middle sister London Spark and her love story with the handsome billionaire Jackson Holt. I could really relate to London and liked her personality a lot. The same goes for Jackson, I thought he was a very nice guy.
However, the main reason I rated this book 3 stars is because it was lacking passion. I was waiting for the sparks to fly off the pages. I liked London and Jackson together, but it wasn't like I needed them to stay together forever. Their romance felt like a subplot. What I did love was the bond between the sisters. Also even if I didn't love this book it still kept me interested enough to finish it. It also had a lot of great moments. I am definitely looking forward to seeing who the youngest sister Harley ends up with.
Loved this book! I think I liked it better than the first one actually. I love getting to see London's story. This series is so good but what do you expect when it's by the great Helena Hunting! I can't wait for the youngest sisters story!
Second in series about the Spark House and the sisters.
London meets stranger while at a bar with her sisters.
Jacksons ask fer out but she turned him down.
At a meeting to meet a potential client she meet the stranger again.
