My Family Tree tells the tale of non-traditional families and what someone's family tree could look like if their family has taken a more indirect route. A little girl, Ada, who has lived in foster care, has a half-sister, foster brothers, and adoptive parents is tasked with creating a family tree for school. She visits family and friends to get help with her project and to gain a new perspective on how she should portray her family and relationships. The artwork is cute and simple.
