CHARMING.

I gratefully enjoyed this more than I hoped for, even if a few things took it down here and there.

I really liked Isla as one of the main points of view. She was optimistic and full of light. I was willingly cheering her on through the ups and downs of trying to be a good caretaker and parent to her sister and finding a new path after losing her job. Isla’s resilience knew no bounds and I was proud of what she accomplished.

Theo was the other point of view (YAY for double points of view in a romance!). More gruff around the edges and unwillingly to see past his own walls, he took some warming up to see his soft side. I ADORE the grump/sunshine trope and thought this was an excellent execution of that.

Mixed thoughts towards some of the plot. I think there was almost too much focus on other things and at times I noticed a repetitiveness to the inner dialogue about varying situations. It took me awhile to feel invested in the romance because I thought things jumped off too quickly since the focus kept turning to other matters.

The conflict had me shaking my head a bit as well. It was heavily hinted throughout buuuut still. I guess I just hoped it would work a bit differently or there’d be a spin on it that I could get behind. While that wasn’t the case, I did absolutely LOVE the grand gesture at the end and the sweetness that followed. FYI this was steamier than I expected and there’s a few scenes, easily skippable if you prefer that like me!

Also yes, the dog, Camilla, is feisty and lovable and played a good sized roll. I loved her spunky vibe and how incredibly touching she could be. Pulls at your heart strings for fellow animal lovers!

Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: a little strong
- Romance: multiple open door
- Trigger/Content Warnings: recounting loss of parents (car wreck), parental abandonment, grief, brief mention of suicide ideation, loss of a grandparent

The Dachshund Wears Prada is a sweet story about loss, love and finding your way. It's a bit sad at times but I still enjoyed it. Isla learns the hard way that social media doesn't forget and forgive easy. She's still looking for a job a month after her awful run in with a young starlet. She's desperate to find a job to help care for her younger sister. She runs into Theo and his late grandma's dog Camilla at the park. She takes him up on his job offer of caring for the dog. Theo is a loner, who's lost everyone he loves. He's not looking to make friends but he finds himself drawn to Isla. This story was sweet, a little sad but heartwarming. I really enjoyed it!

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, HQN and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this digital ARC of The Dachshund Wears Prada.

I was convinced I had to read this boo based on the title only (I mean if you don't love the Devil Wears Prada - be sure you check to make sure you have a pulse). This charming story just pulled me in. Social media whiz Isla loses her job after one huge mistake. But as her sister's guardian, she needs a a new one fast and jumps at the first one she's offered: As dog sitter for Camilla, a bad-tempered doxie, whose rich owner Theo is considered equally difficult. This was such a fun, quirky, enjoyable read! The characters were GREAT! Everything about this from the backstories, the Grandma, the feel-goods, the strength and resilience…and of course…Camilla, the pampered dachshund (who may or may not wear Prada), just kept me from wanting to put this down! The storyline flowed really well. The twists, character traits and actions, kept me engaged. And the way Isla turned a job with a “misunderstood” dog into a popular trend was hilarious! There were several literal “LOL” parts in this book! Be warned, though…it also broke my heart in one part! But seriously…this was such a joy to read and it is now my favorite book by author Stefanie London! This is a romantic comedy with some definite heat. 5 famous stars from me!

What a wonderful story! Isla was taking care of her sister the best way she knew how, and then one mistake ripped the ladder away. Theo had only know heartbreak. When Camilla, the dachshund, comes barking and growling to Theo, Isla saves the day! This was a story full of sweetness, chemistry, and the struggle to achieve.

"The Dachshund Wears Prada" is a romance about two people who have sworn off relationships after past hurts, but they just can't resist each other. The romance is in the background for about 40% of the novel, but then the characters suddenly get together and things steam up quickly. The perspective shifts around throughout the chapters, which was a bit confusing as it's not indicated in any way.

Readers who enjoy quirky dogs, boss-employee relationships, commitment phobes to lovers, and unique family units would enjoy this novel.

The dachshund wears prada by Stephanie London.
Forget diamonds—the internet is forever. Social media consultant Isla Thompson learned that lesson the hard way when she went viral for all the wrong reasons. A month later, Isla is still having nightmares about the moment she ruined a young starlet’s career and made herself the most unemployable influencer in Manhattan. But she doesn’t have the luxury of hiding until she’s no longer Instagram poison. Not when her fourteen-year-old sister, Dani, needs Isla to keep a roof over their heads. So, she takes the first job she can get: caring for Camilla, a glossy-maned, foul-tempered hellhound.
Absolutely loved this book. The cover the story. Couldn't put it down. I loved Isla character. 5*.

The Dachshund Wears Prada is a delightful story of Isla Thompson and Theo Garrison, who connect thanks to Theo's inherited dog, Camilla. After an unintentional, catastrophic mistake at work, Isla is dropped like a hot potato and finds herself in need of a new job. Having inherited his grandmother's pampered pooch, Theo finds himself in need of assistance with it as of yesterday so when Theo offers Isla the job of being Camilla's dog sitter, she readily accepts it.

I absolutely loved reading this book. Every single character was wonderfully crafted and complemented each other perfectly - I really liked the way Isla gets along with her sister with the perfect balance of carer and friend. Theo had me right from the first page; the perfect combination of strength and vulnerability and his chemistry with Isla was such fun to read. Once again Stefanie London has given us a story with lovable characters, funny moments, punch-in-the-gut moments and a book I will go back to plenty of times. Can't wait for the next one!

Cute, tender, and light!

The Dachshund Wears Prada is a heartwarming, uplifting tale that takes you on a journey into the life of social media specialist Isla Thompson as after an unfortunate turn of events, her career is in tatters, and she finds herself inadvertently taking the job of dog carer for the spoilt, spunky, four-legged Camilla whose owner the aloof, sexy Theo Garrison may just require a little assistance of his own.

The writing is humorous and sweet. The characters are hesitant, charming, and supportive. And the plot is a delightfully engaging mix of friendship, family, life, introspection, secrets, communication, compromise, taking chances, and finding love.

Overall, The Dachshund Wears Prada is another adorable, passionate, addictive read by London that, as is typical when I finish any of her books, has left me already looking forward to whatever she comes up with next.

This is entertaining and sweet romance. Isla Thompson takes a hard fall in her career in social media. But she needs to stay on her feet as she supports both herself and her 14 years old sister Dani. She happens into a temporary job working for Theo Garrison. He is known as a misanthropic recluse and successful workaholic. After burying his beloved grandmother he finds he has inherited her pet dachshund. Isla connects with the terrifying Camilla unlike the previous dog sitters. Camilla has a full schedule of play dates, pet psychics and even a Vogue photo shoot. Along the way Isla uses her talents to create a pet instagram that quickly is gaining attention. Isla is also breaking down walls with the grumpy Theo. He is genuinely sweet and kind but afraid of being used for his name and money. I normally have issues with power balance especially when one is an employee. The author acknowledges it, and gets around it enough that I’m okay with their relationship. The two together are hot and steamy. I like sister Dani. Her issues add to the story and I love how both Theo and Isla interact with her. I should mention the cover is perfect for the book. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. (4.5 stars)

It’s not a book about a dog wearing a designer harness, but a Cinderella story turning into 50 Shades of Gray. I didn’t realize it was a romcom book, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. It’s a fun and easy vacation read!

Ahh, I love Stefanie London novels. She is such a wonderful writer. I will read every romance she writes. She puts so much heart into her stories.

This story centers on Theo and Isla. Theo is a rich recluse who inherits his grandmother's pampered dog, Camilla. She has a big attitude problem and Theo doesn't have the time to take care of her while he's at work. Isla is a former social media consultant who loses her biggest client due to an accident where she showed her client throwing up. She has a little sister, Dani, that she has to take care of, so she agrees to be Camilla's dog handler after a chance meeting with Theo in a park. Before long, Camilla is a sweet dog, and Isla has shown Theo what it is like to live and love life.

One of my favorite parts of the story is the grump/sunshine trope. Theo is even MORE of a grump than normal. He's made life about business and reclusion in his apartment. He thinks he has no need for anyone else, Then Isla shows up with a can-do attitude and breaks down Theo's walls, brick by brick. Isla is also such a relatable character. She's the caretaker of her younger sister and loves her dearly, but it also unhappy with so much responsibility put on her at a young age. I enjoyed seeing her succeed and how she shows Theo that love is possible.

I absolutely adored this rom-com, and I'm so glad that I read this. Stefanie London is an auto-buy author for me!

Loved this newest book by Stefanie London. Full of doggy fun and people drama. I admit to being truly angry in a couple of places, but all worked out in the end, of course with the requisite HEA. This has it all, humor, drama, romance and steam. Definite add to your TBR list.

After her fall from social-media-grace, Isla took a position caring for a spoiled dog with a bad disposition. With her sunny personality, Isla managed to win Camilla’s doggie heart, but she may have won the heart of Camilla’s grumpy owner, too.

This book made my list of miles-of-smiles because it provided me with so many warm and humorous moments. As I read, I was either laughing, giggling, smiling, or drying a stray tear. It was just a sweet and lovely story.

Isla was a ray of sunshine with a big heart. She was dealing with a huge career setback and panicking about how she would provide for her teenaged sister. Isla had to compromise and accepted the role as Camilla’s caretaker. Being part of the world of wealthy and pampered pets inspired Isla to create the persona of The Dachshund Wears Prada. I must admit, the social media post described are ones I would 1000% subscribe too. I wish there had been pictures in this book because every Dachshund post sounded amazing, and needless to say, I was pleased as punch to see Isla getting back in the game.

Theo was a loner and so gruff, but he would reveal these small parts of himself that broke my heart. Underneath his grumpy exterior was a lonely person who had been betrayed on too many occasions. What was brilliant was how much he and Camilla had in common. It’s subtle at first, but watch for it. There are these really wonderful and meaningful moments between the two, and I adored watching them grow closer as much as I loved seeing Theo and Isla bond.

Both Isla and Theo had built fortresses around their hearts, and there is nothing I love more than seeing two people like that fall for each other. Seeing that trust and affection slowly build was a thing of beauty, and as I had already mentioned, you can see those parallels with Camilla as well.

The romance, doggie antics, and sisterly bonds all elevated this story for me. It was fun, sweet, charming, heartwarming — this book gets all the positive adjectives from me. As I read, I experienced multiple heart explosions, and cannot wait to return to Paws in the City.

If you are looking for a great romcom, I highly recommend The Dachshund Wears Prada by Stefanie London. Isla is a social media consultant. When Isla accidentally videos a client getting sick and the video goes viral, Isla loses her job. Now Isla needs to figure out how she will support not only herself but also her younger sister who she has been raising ever since their mother left them years ago. Fortunately, Isla gets a job taking care of a spoiled and ill-tempered dachshund named Camilla. Camilla’s owner is Theo Garrison, who is from a very wealthy and famous family. As a result, he prefers to keep to himself. As Isla tries to win Theo and Camilla over, many funny and romantic passages await the reader.

The title and cover totally grabbed me, and the charming story just pulled me in. Social media whiz Isla loses her job after one huge mistake. But as her sister's guardian, she needs a a new one fast and jumps at the first one she's offered: As dog sitter for Camilla, a bad-tempered doxie, whose rich owner Theo is considered equally difficult.

What Isla finds is that Camilla is really lovable, as is Theo, who has shielded himself from amour due to past hurts.

I absolutely loved this funny, delightful, joyful RomCom, and look forward to reading any book Stefanie London writes.

A thoroughly delightful book! Ilsa has a booming career as a social media consultant, when one viral mistake gets her fired and makes her unemployable. She needs to support her younger sister, so she takes a job with Theo Garrison as his dog sitter. Theo comes from the New York society elite. His father owned a publishing company and his mother was a famous actress. When his parents died evading the paparazzi, he closed himself off to the world. The dachshund in question was left to him by his grandmother in her will, and had already been through 10 pet sitters prior to Ilsa. This is a nice grumpy guy, sunshiny girl romance. All of the characters are likable and the journey to their happily ever after was a joy to read. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Perfect for classic rom com fans, Between our New York City setting and the cute dog you really can't go wrong. I am hoping fans of Lauren Layne pick this one up.

In short: I loved it! It is such a great mixture of human problems (beginning by small faults and the never forgetting or forgiving internet, over family responsibilities to falling in love with your "boss") and the absolute winning addition of spoiled pets that add to the charm of the whole story! And of course there is a hea!
I am just glad that this is the beginning of a series and I am looking forward to the next story.
