Thank you NetGalley & HTP books for an eARC of On a Quiet Street. I absolutely loved Such a Good Wife, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book as soon as I saw it available on NG.

I chose this book off my NetGalley shelf at 9pm, hoping for a quick, twisty thriller read. Well, this was SO much more than I expected! I had to force myself to fall asleep after a few hours of binging and finished the book shortly after waking up. It's just THAT good.

I absolutely love domestic suspense/thriller novels where everyone in the idyllic neighborhood has a secret. And boy, this group has lots. This book has a little bit of everything - even a slight touch of romance and spice - and I was constantly left guessing. There are a few different plots intertwining in this one and Seraphina Nova Glass tackled this masterfully with no holes to be poked in the story at the end. The alternating chapters between the three main wives were equally easy to devour, and I found this book to be both character and action driven which I love.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 massive stars and will be recommending this one to all my bookish friends this year!

It's a fun read so I've decided to forgive the occasional stereotypical ancillary character and the wild ineptitude of the local police force.

Trigger warning: domestic violence

On a Quiet Street is a domestic thriller you won’t want to put down! Fans of Lisa Jewell or Liane Moriarty will want to check out this book!

I had low expectations going in and was pleasantly surprised. The book centres on three women who all live in a quiet suburban neighbourhood. Cora is the classic PTA mom who can always be relied upon to organize and volunteer; Georgia is a young new mom who recently moved to the street; and Paige is a middle-age mother who is mourning the tragic and recent passing of her twenty something son. All three women have their issues and secrets and Glass does a wonderful job of slowly unravelling them while creating endearing characters along the way.

This is a 4.5 rather than a 5 star read for me simply because Glass’ literary prowess is not quite on par with Moriarty and Jewell. The book was a great page turner with good reveals, but everything is a wee bit flatter than other heavy hitting books in this genre. That being said, Seraphina Nova Glass is now on my list of authors to watch and read! I will definitely pick up a few of her older books and recommend this one to family and friends!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for a free digital copy in exchange for a fair and honest receive.

Ok if you are looking for a domestic thriller, this right here is it.
Pros: the turn this book took! I was completely blindsided, thought this was another generic scandalous affair but NO. The plot completely took a left turn and intertwined with the affiar plotline perfectly.
The pacing was great, I was reading fast because it had me TENSE when things started going sideways.
Men being douchebags and getting exactly what they deserve? Say less. I’m all in.

Cons: *sigh* ok. I didn’t think I could be so annoyed with characters, then root for them immediately after. Two of the MC’s Cora and Paige were just insufferable at times, that I thought it was satire and a housewife cliche?? It was odd, they went from being annoying to having me root and love their actions. However because of the plot and them giving cheating spouses what the deserve, I have to stan.

If we are going on pure entertainment value, plot twists and keeping me hooked….I got to give it 5 stars.

Paige’s son Caleb was murdered last year, and she is just unable to cope and put her pieces back together, as any parent would. The police still haven’t found who killed him in a hit and run
(But I must say the first chapter with her and the water hose had me cracking up 🤣🤣🚲)
She turned into a grumpy recluse, forever searching for the person responsible for killing her only child. And she’s a woman on a mission …
Cora watches Georgia Kinney from her back deck. They’ve lived across the street from each other in a gated community called Brighton Hills. Georgia’s husband is a judge, and she’s drop-dead gorgeous. Her husband Lucas tells people she has agoraphobia, but that’s not why she never comes outside. Or socializes.
He’s tormented her through their entire marriage and does unspeakable things to her (read the book), and every time she’s tried to leave before, he finds her. And it’s worse each time she comes back home
Cora’s husband, Flynn, has thoroughly checked out of his marriage. And he’s entirely not the person she thought she knew. But how can she prove what she suspects ??
This book is DEF in my top 5 of 2022.
I stood up and cheered load at the end
You must get this book. #highlyrecommendthatyoudorightnow!

Wow! One of the best domestic dramas I’ve read in a long time! Absolutely glued to the pages.

I’ve never been one to really socialize with my neighbors. (Perhaps I just live in the wrong neighborhood?)💁🏻‍♀️. But that doesn’t stop me me from wondering what they are all up to!

In the gated community of Brighton Hills, wealthy families feel they are protected from the outside world. But are they safe from each-other?

Paige has recently lost her son and is now separated from her husband. She is grieving and maybe a bit out of control. But no one really blames her. Though, it might be a good idea to stay out of her way. Then again, she is the one you want in your corner if you need help.

Cora
Georgia. The beautiful English wife of the local judge. She is always seen on her porch with her baby, but never ventures further. And avoids chatting with the neighbors at all costs!

Can these women trust each-other enough to tell their darkest secrets. Will they end up helping one another or create more damage that will tear the neighborhood apart.

The storyline unfolds from the perspective of all three women. Their voices were clear and distinct and I had no problem following along. I loved all three, and my heart broke for what each was going through.

⚠️Be prepared there are dark themes of abuse, gaslighting and infidelity (among other horrible behaviors).

This book was insanely good! I love a good domestic thriller and this one fit the bill perfectly.

The book starts out with a hit and run and from there you learn the victim was the twenty-two-year-old son of Paige and Grant. Paige is obsessed with finding out who killed her son, and that obsession has led to problems in her marriage. Paige will stop at nothing to find justice for her son, Caleb.

Cora, a stay-at-home mom to 17-year-old Mia is married to Finn who she suspects of cheating. Finn is not very nice to Cora, putting her down and accusing her of being crazy for thinking he is cheating on her even though there are signs everywhere.

Georgia is married to a well-respected judge with a baby who never leaves her house. The neighbors are led to believe she suffers from mental illness when in real life her every move is being controlled by her husband.

These three women come together when a secret is uncovered amongst them. I thought the twist was crazy and the ending even better!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my e-ARC.

I love a thriller about the "perfect" neighborhoods that turn out to be quite sinister and dysfunctional. On a Quiet Street is an interesting book with three points of view. I thought all the characters were interesting and I loved how everything merged together, This book had excellent pacing and was interesting from start to finish. Thanks for the advance review copy.

The better things may look, the worse they may be in reality. It's a beautiful, 'safe' place. Except it not, someone is killed by a hit a run that may not have been that. The stand offish neighbor maybe snobby, but maybe not. As the story unfolds, there are more twists and turns, unveilings and revelations. Some of these you can see coming, others are quite the surprise.
This is a nice story and a fun one to read- if you are always looking to second guess the book, try it with this one.

This was MARVELOUS. We have a toddler and a year old baby who still sleeps in two-hour shifts (sleep is hard to come by!) and I’m wired as can be with that post-book wonder at 4 in the morning.

Typically, I would say that I had so many guesses as to what the ending was going to be. (I did. They were all wrong). This isn’t a guess-the-ending book. It is immaculate in its character development and unnervingly realistic, creating a twisty and intricate mystery that is pieced together in real time by three different perspectives.

My heart beat out of my chest, my throat was tight. I wanted to look away but couldn’t pull my eyes away. Not since “Verity” have I been so in awe of a book.

BRILLIANT read. You had to love the characters. I swear, this book was one you will read without stopping. It would be a great film. Women unite to help one another on Quiet Street, full of not-so-perfect people. 100 stars.

This is one of the best domestic thrillers I’ve read in a while! It was sooooo good! I read it in one afternoon, I just couldn’t put it down.

The book explores such things as family Infidelity, grief, separation, imprisonment.
The characters were really well fleshed out, and easy to empathize with.

I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a good domestic thriller!

Another addictive, character driven domestic thriller: Three neighbors who suffer from dysfunctional marriages.

Paige lost her son at hit&run, spying on neighbors who were probable person of interests related her son’s crime. She lives secluded life, cutting off all of her social life, leaving their family restaurant as her husband moves to a new apartment. But now she has another task to concentrate: she will seduce her neighbor’s husband to prove he’s a notorious cheat!

The neighbor Paige helps is Cora: sweet, domestic, curvy, noisy, mother of Mia who is about to leave for college. Several times she attacked to her husband for cheating of her. She even busted him at a bar when she only wears bathrobe, her face covered in aging cream. Not a nice disguise outfit to catch your husband in the act!

She needs a solid proof for showing her husband restricted the clause on their prenup agreement and Paige is here to help with her seductive skills!

And Georgia: a young woman with a baby, seems like suffering from emotional breakdown, having panic attacks to leave the house. The very same woman was carefree young girl traveled around the world, working at temporary jobs till she tied the knot with her older husband. Why she cannot leave her own house? She’s afraid of something or someone!

Three women’s dysfunctional marriage relationships collided each other with surprising twists, shocking infidelity moments.

The conclusion is relieving!

Overall: it was definitely great kind of domestic/ psychological thriller with slow burn pacing. Three flawed characters are so different from each and it is easy to empathize with each of them.

Well earned four mysterious, abuse, secretive, cheating, dark stars!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

The families in Brighton Hills may be quiet, but they all have their own secrets behind closed doors.

It may start as a quiet street, but it’s not going to end that way! It also started with me thinking the main women of the story would be annoying and vapid, but I LOVED them; especially Paige. The story just crept up in excitement and had my anxiety going. It was a very quick read and got good fast.

“Last week I hosted a Girl Scout craft fair, and now I’m … what, exactly? Very different, that’s what.”

On A Quiet Street comes out 5/17.

HOLY MOLY...I could NOT put this down. It begins with a young man laying on a dark street. What happened to him? Who killed him? Or was it an accident? His mother sets out to find out. The book explores the neighbors - each family has secrets. Infidelity, grief, separation, imprisonment - all made it impossible to put down.

I love that the neighborhood ladies support each other no matter what. I don't want to give too much away (no spoilers here). But these women are bad a$$. I was so disappointed when I finished it - I wanted more!!

I could not put this book down. I was intrigued from the very first sentence. How often does that happen?

The story was extremely well written. So suspenseful with many plot twists from start to finish. Every page was interesting and relevant to the plot. I loved the three main characters and the way the story was told from each of their point of views. Everything came together in the end perfectly.

I can't recommend this book enough if you're looking for a mystery/thriller/suspense

Oh how I do love a good neighborhood drama and this has it all, a fatal hit and run, infidelity, domestic abuse and that’s just to name a few of their problems. Just sit back and enjoy the show!

There is a lot more going on in peaceful gated communities that you could ever imagine. Why, On a Quiet Street there’s murder, adultery, blackmail, physical and emotional abuse and more. The neatly manicured, well-landscaped beautiful lakeside homes of Brighton Hills are hiding a lot. This thriller is told in the voices of three women.

Paige: Grieving the loss of her twenty-two year old son Caleb in an unsolved hit-and-run, she’s separated from her husband, alienated the police by her suspicions and lost most of her friends. Her neighbor Cora remains loyal and begs Paige to help her with her suspicions about her husband Finn’s behavior.

Cora: Married to Finn for twenty-two years, she’s a stay-at-home mother to teenage daughter Mia. Once a successful TV journalist, she’s caught in a downward spiral of insecurity, worried about her weight, her daughter’s secretive behavior and her belief that Finn is unfaithful.

Georgia: She is the beautiful young English wife of an esteemed local judge and mother to a baby daughter. She knows the secrets she is hiding will destroy lives, possibly her own.

These women come together to help each other. They have no idea how their personal secrets are linked, linked in life-changing ways. Revealing these secrets will take courage. How will they find the strength?

What a thriller this is! A suspenseful, deliberate plot, three strong female characters and action that mainly takes place on one short block, On a Quiet Street has it all! 5 stars.
