This is a very Emotional book as it deals with grief after the loss of a loved one. Parents mourning the death of a child, sisters losing a sister, and a twin losing her twin
This is another great book from RaeAnne Thayne. The characters in this book are the Porters. Rosemary and Ted are the parents who are divorced. The children are Cami a lawyer like her Dad, Lily a twin and has recently past away and Violet a twin who is a special Ed teacher. This story is about a family get through a family the has has a sibling or child to suddenly die. It is about the grief, the bonding of a family.
RaeAnne Thayne's Summer at the Cape was an emotional thrill with wonderful characters and a fantastic plot!
This book has a little bit of everything; love and loss, second chances, family dynamics, forgiveness and happily ever afters. In Summer at the Cove, RaeAnne Thayne wrote some loveable characters. I was actually a little sad when the story was over and wanted to continue reading about them. I loved reading about the characters growth, reconciling with the past, and finding hope for the future. I liked that the story wasn't just focused on one couple, but introduced a few love stories as well as love and connection with family and how it's not always easy. Thayne really knows how to tug at the heartstrings and had me tearing up a bit throughout parts of the novel. This novel also had me wanting to visit Wild Hearts campground and book a glamping trip of my own!
Thank you NetGalley, RaeAnne Thayne, and HQN publishing for the opportunity to read and review this e-ARC!
Cami and Violet have both returned home to help their Mother run a glamming site. Ivy, Violets twin, had started the camping site and was working with her Mother when she tragically drowned while saving 2 young children. The whole family is reeling from the death and trying to move on. This is the story about families and also new and old romances. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
Cami and her sister Violet are coming home to Cape Sanctuary to support their mother and remember their sister, Violet's identical twin, who passed suddenly and tragically four months earlier. They each face their own specters and they stand beside their mother in her attempt to carry on their departed sister Lily's legacy.
This book had everything I love. Close family supporting one another. Beaches. Camping. Sweet romance without unnecessary conflict. I can really only describe this book as sad but sweet, and possibly more sweet because of the sadness.
I think this is my first book by RaeAnn Thayne but it most certainly won't be my last.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
RaeAnne Thayne's "Summer at the Cape" delivers all the summer romance and small town charm one needs!
Summer at the Cape by RaeAnne Thayne Well I have to admit that I didn't know what a glampground was. While camping wouldn't be high on my bucket list, the glampground does sound intriguing. In building the dream that their deceased sister's vision, Cami and Violet and their mother work through their strained relationship, sadness, loss, troublesome neighbors and major and minor setbacks. Wondrous things can happen when a family loves and works together.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
Charming and warm slice of life story that had both pain and joy. Cami is an attorney who was left in her fathers custody when her parents divorced many years ago while her twin sisters Violet and Lily went with their mother.
This is many years later, Lily has accidentally died and Cami is visiting to offer her help with a project that Lily had created with their Mother. Glamping. The characters are well drawn out and the storyline is intricate and wonderful. Creative. Romantic. Intelligent. I loved it.
This was a sweet story of a family coming together after a horrendous loss and the beautiful things that can happen when you decide to open yourself up to love. Loved all the characters and storylines!
This is a nice warm weather read that takes place at the seaside. Sisters Violet and Cami are processing the shocking death of their sister Lily (violet's twin), and head back home to help their mother who is trying to keep Lily's glampground dream alive, despite neighbors causing problems with a lease. The sisters work through their strained relationship, the sadness of the loss of their sister, and romance potential that pops up. Is the storyline predictable? Absolutely, but it's still a good read for warm & happy feelings!
This book is a quick read about family dynamics...love...loss...death of a loved one...new friends...old friends...old loves and new ones...families who have lost yet rebounded...these themes run through this book...a good one about a divorced couple and their three daughters...the setting is unique in that there is a campground that is glamourous...this book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review...although the story is sometimes confusing...which character goes with which significant other...and the loss of the one family member is never really addressed to the extent I thought it should have been, it is a good book. Enjoy.
I enjoyed this book. It was romantic and heartfelt. I am grateful that i got to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Cape Sanctuary lives up to its name by coming a true sanctuary for the Porter family. Following her parents' divorce, Cami remained with her father in Los Angeles, while her younger twin sisters moved with their mother to Cape Sanctuary. Now, some fifteen years later, everyone's life is in turmoil following Lily's accidental drowning. Although the glam camp she had envisioned has become a successful enterprise under their mother's care, an unexpected complication is putting its existence in jeopardy .Pulling together to stave off the eviction order threatened by their neighbor's son, realigns the family, sets new priorities , and heals old wounds.
Rae Anne Thayer gives life to each character as she explors who each one has become over the intervening years and how each one is facing life's realities.
A thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking book.
