This is so delightful! It is very good for expanding vocabulary, maybe for 8 years old and up, depending on reading level. Some words are particularly expanded on and many are just used in context which was my favorite way to learn words as a kid. I really like the blend of stories and smaller words that little kids can understand along with longer, less common words that kids might not have heard. Also, the stories were so cute, and very good for reading out loud as an older person can enjoy the stories too, although I personally would probably get tongue tied when there is alliteration.

Hello! I absolutely love (!!!) the Further Adventures of Miss Petifour!! :) If I could give this book more than five stars in the official rating scheme, I would do. I love everything about this book...it is cleverly and brilliantly written, and the incorporation of cats as main characters in this book is super cute! Miss Petifour has an amazing and intricate brain...all of her connections to connections in the moment remind me of me! The formatting and illustrations are lovely, and it is wonderful how the author plays on words so expertly. Particular words are emphasized here and there intentionally or just because, and the stories are perfect for adults or children. The 'tail to paws' image in the book sticks with me. I just loved this book and have warm feelings from having read it! I highly recommend this book and was granted an ARC from NetGalley. Thank you! This is all my honest review. :)

Miss Petitfour enjoys having adventures that are "just the right size" for a "single, magical day." With her sixteen cats and the aid of a tablecloth as a makeshift balloon, Miss Petitfour soars — which is to say, she rises high in the air and flies — over her charmingly eccentric village, encountering adventures along the way. One never knows where the wind will take her in this delightfully seasonal collection of magical outings: perhaps to the aid of dearly loved friends and neighbors, including a hapless handyman and an onion-loving baby, or to a coconut-confetti parade, or in search of keys, lucky charms or even simply the perfect tablecloth for her next flight. A witty, whimsical, beautifully illustrated collection of tales that celebrate language, storytelling and all the pleasures of life, large and small!

This was a delightful read filled with joy and adventure that warmed my heart. I just couldn’t wait to see what Miss Petitfour and her friendly felines got up to next.

Filled with excitement, fun and adventure this beautifully illustrated book is sure to be a fan for all ages.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour was a very charming series of short stories, though I wish I had been able to read the physical copy rather than the ebook. The ebook wasn't able to capture the illustrations, typography, and spacing as well as a physical book could, I'm sure. Harkening back to Mary Poppins and The Phantom Tollbooth, Miss Petitfour's stories teach children words and literary devices in and amongst the whimsical, nonsensical stories. I found some of the self-admitted digressions and broken fourth walls a bit tedious, even if they were teaching moments, but overall enjoyed the silly meanderings of Miss Petitfour and her cats.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour is a whimsical and delightful, cozy read - perfect for lazy days.
I loved how each of the cats was introduced at the beginning of the book (and there's a lot of them) and the collection of stories within this book about Miss Petitfour and her adventures is so fun and beautifully illustrated.
I lobed the authors word play through this book and found it a fantastic book to expand on vocabulary for children. I'd say this book is aimed at aged 10+ due to the vocabulary used.
Children are bound to fall in love with Miss Petitfour and her cats. If you love quirky characters and reads, this is definitely a book you need to get!

A charming sequel with all the whimsy and word play that made me fall in love with the first book. Emma Block’s delightful illustrations perfectly bring the story to life.

What whimsical and delightful story created for all ages but I think ages 5 through 9 would like it best. Miss Petitfour lives in a delightful house in a delightful town with extraordinary characters who make each other delightful happy, and Miss Petitfour has a lot of cats that make her life truly entertaining. Plus while the story is entertaining and pure fun, the story will teach you a bit of grammar that will make you feel smart at the end.
The illustrations are wonderful

I want to Penguin Random House Canada and Netgalley for an advance copy of this delightful book

This is a delightful sequel, and its whimsy and quiet joy in the everyday was so soothing to read. I do think the first entry in the series is a bit stronger, but this book was certainly still very fun. In theory, I appreciate the didactic parts (teaching readers about puns, synonyms, digressions, etc.), though I do think the throwback approach to this might not work super well for all young readers.

‘The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour’ was such a charming addition to the series. The adventures of the titular Miss Petitfour and her funny cats introduce young readers to new words and really build an impressive vocabulary. I highly recommend this for any young readers in your life. Or adults who enjoy a bit of whimsy :-)

A sweet and quirky story with characters you easily find yourself endeared to. I jumped into this series thanks to NetGalley and Random House Canada allowing me to review it pre-release. While I love the characters and the concept I found the story a little slow with not enough on the storyline. Children will love the cats, the characters, and the illustrations.

This is a darling children’s book. It teaches about homophones, rhymes, palindromes, and more. The illustrations are whimsical and the story is humorous and entertaining. I’m not a big cat person but despite the abundance of cats I really enjoyed the book. My only annoyance was the excessive use of long hyphenated last names. At times it became tiresome. Other than that, it was a wonderful, enjoyable collection of short stories centering around Miss Petitfour and her cars.

#thefurtheradventuresofmisspetitfour is an absolutely wonderful and delightful collection of childrens' stories. I read this book with my middle child and he absolutely loved the imagery in this book and the clowder of cats owned by Miss Petifour. For me this book brings back childhood memories is Mary Poppins and Pippi Longstocking. This a must read for the young and the young at heart 💓 📚🤓❤️

This book brought happiness to my life. I LIKE IT!

This book is sweet, fun, cozy type of thing. The writing style is arranged for young kids, so I think around 5-6 years old and can be older, which is perfect because this is a middle grade book, BUT for adult who usually love middle grade or read quite a lot of middle grade books, I don't think all of them can digest it well. This book is perfect for adults who want to wake up their inner child. It reminds you of how fun to be kids, how magical their point of view are, and sometimes we just have to chill!

Oh dear, being a pet lover, especially to this adorable feline 🐈 just make me more excited than ever. Requested, then, getting super anxious waiting whether @netgalley @penguinrandomca going to give me, their green light or not😂. Alhamdulillah, I got to read it (thank you so much for the approval!!) and became an immediate lover of the author's writing style. And oh, I need to mention the cute illustrations works like wonders!! Well done 👏🏻💗

I rarely pick a book looking for escapism but dear, I needed it so badly!! (With life getting more hectic and chaotic.) Well, back to the book, I loved that it's not only taken me on fantastical adventures (expect more than one! on hunts for onions, finding the meaning on the missing 🔑, snowball fight, a well-created plan turns chaotic😂, food falls out from the skies hilariously and much more –not to ruin the fun, of course!!). I learn about maps, some delectable delicacies 😋 (send me some Cinnamon roll and fish pies, anyone!! 🤤), big words small words, etc. But most importantly, weeeee, off I went with Miss Petitfour and the gangs of feline🚀

The author also does her best to explain what is what in a jolly yet tender voice, with her, continuously repeating “that is to say..." hehe, I understand it and thus, love it. Do not assume adult knows all, okay!😹. You get what I mean right? Frankly, it makes learning more amusing; like sitting in a classroom full of eager and exciting children who wanted to take part because it was simply cosy; tremendously cosy and there's me who invisibly sit around, giggling, head tilt left and right hoping I'm not missing a thing of what's being said😂. I can even imagine my friend, Mayah, reading it out aloud. Aha! 🤭

The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour will comes out on 30 August. But, do keep an eye on it. No regret! And while at it, I'm adding the first book to my wishlist ❤😆

Absolutely delightful. The stories and illustrations complement each other. This would make an excellent read-aloud option and/gift. Just a joyful read.

This is a very cute book and my 8 year old daughter loved it. She asked if there were any other books with Miss Petitfour, so I guess we'll be getting the other book as well! We both loves the adorable illustrations and the cute and clever cat names. We also loved reading the descriptions of the sweet treats. It inspired my daughter to come up with some fun things she wants to bake. Just a very lovely, cozy little book! Definitely recommend for kids in 1st-3rd grade.

A book with a myriad of felines and a Mary Poppins-infused world? Well that sounds like something I would enjoy.

I find the overall aesthetics extremely lovely, the illustrations are all very sweet and endearing, and the pastel tones very appeasing. The book is clearly worth contemplating.

As for the content, it’s most definitely quirky, with lots of plays on words and fun characters. I mean, all those cats are just too precious.

It is just too bad that the all-out eccentricity wasn’t combined with a compelling story to follow. A lot of work clearly went into the writing style, but the beautiful musicality of words takes over at the expense of the action that isn’t engaging enough.

So, all in all, a bit of mixed review. Thanks to Penguin Random House Canada for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This book reminds me a lot of Mary Poppins, but Mary Poppins with many many cats. Cute stories, older kids will like,
