I chose this Amazon Original Story for my first holiday read of the year, and it did not disappoint!

Oh. What. Fun. Is a quick, lighthearted read about the magical holiday spirit… and the moms behind it 😉

I laughed several times while reading this, and I definitely could relate to feeling burnt out and exhausted after the season is over!

I definitely recommend this short story to get you into the spirit, and as a good reminder to thank those in our lives that make this season bright!

❄️ Oh. What. Fun. Will be available on November 30th!❄️

This was a cute and quick read, and a great way to start me on my stack of holiday books.

The writing was excellent and I lived the humor that was brought to the story.

I also loved Claire, as I believe everyone of her family did, but they tend to overlook her almost.
They know she will be there to make Christmas the best, and for the most part she wants to,
but I also felt that she wanted someone to acknowledge her work.

The characters other than Claire were fairly basic, however I thought the inclusion of Angel was
fun, especially when they find out what a thief he is.

I think this is the perfect book for anyone to kick up their feet up and read, maybe take away a bit of
that holiday stress we so often feel.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this laugh-out-loud short story that I devoured in one sitting. Just in time for the holidays, a doting mother and grandmother disappears, leaving her family feeling concerned and... guilty? Did she plan this escape from their constant expectations and demands? Did her three grown children drive away the queen of Christmas planning?

This quick read is perfect for anyone who gets wrapped up (pun intended😂) in the hectic hust!e and bustle of the holiday season!

Really cute story that fully captured the chaos of Christmas with a large family. Their mom was so relatable to so many moms around Christmas time and it makes you realize to check up on your loved ones all year. Make sure people feel valued and appreciated and don’t take even the smallest acts for granted.

A Slice Of Festive Escapism…
Short and sweet festive fun in this entertaining and enjoyable quick read. Home for the holidays and for Christmas cheer, the Clauster family gather for the festivities at the family home but not everything this year will be quite as balanced as it normally is. Rather joyous entertainment and a slice of festive escapism.

One I have to say I adore Baker's books. She can write like it's no one's business.
And this Christmas short story was just what I needed!

The characters that will have you smiling and laughing throughout the book.
I truly connected with the characters here, And I think most truly will.
Feeling the pressure, overwhelmed and etc.
Her storytelling was phenomenal and she did it again with such passion here I was completely hooked while reading.
This funny Christmas story will surely capture the readers heart and take them on a journey with this family!

If you are looking for a cute, whimsical book to get you in the mood for Christmas, this short story by the author of The Husbands might fit the bill! I was a little confused who the narrator was at the beginning, but I became more engaged with and intrigued by the story mid-way through. Perfect for one-sitting with a mug of hot cocoa!

Thank you very much to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for the advanced reader’s copy of this book.

Need a reason to ho-ho-ho before Thanksgiving whilst avoiding street corners? Chandler Baker’s short story might be perfect for you.

Claire is the patriarch of the family, and is always THRILLED when her family comes home for Christmas. There’s her children, children’s spouses, and even a couple grandchildren. It’s hard to keep track.

Anyhoo, Claire always makes the week of Christmas perfect...but her family doesn’t seem to treat her like the gift that she is.

Then, on Christmas Eve Eve Eve, the family is allowed to open one present. Tickets to Disney on Ice?! #HowFetch

Claire’s family fails to realize she’s not with them at the concert for the longest time. So where is she?

This is a cute short story from Baker, who usually writes darker tales. It’s pretty standard for the most part, but the denouement and events leading up to it caused me to smile...and gave me some early Xmas vibes. Overall, a fun seasonal read that’s probably best served after Thanksgiving.

Welcome to the Clauster family Christmas.

Claire Clauster knows how to make Christmas the most magical time of year. Cooking lavish dinners, wrapping endless presents, mailing the perfect Christmas cards all while smiling and humming Christmas carols. She loves the holidays.

At least that's what her family thinks.

What she has become is burnt out and exhausted. Wanting for just on person to recognize all she does and to show her the littlest bit of appreciation.

It doesn't happen.

So instead she gets the family tickets for Disney on Ice. For the next few hours they are entertained by the likes of Mickey and Elsa but it is only soon after the performance ends that anyone realizes Claire is not there.

She is not at home, she is not out shopping, she is not out with her girlfriends. She has simply disappeared. The family, now panicking, realize they have to work together to figure out where she went.

"What a Clausterfuck!"

This was a short, snappy, and cute little holiday story that I am so happy to have read. Not sure of the actual page count but it takes about an hour to read. For anyone that has ever felt overwhelmed by the holidays (Me!) then this is a story for you. 4 stars!

3.5 ⭐️
This was such a quick and entertaining read. I have to say, though, that the structure of this book three me off and I didn’t always have a good grasp on the timeline or who was speaking.. that is the main reason for the 3.5 rating. However, I did read the arc from netgalley so the formatting of this book could have changed.
I found this to be such a cute little, almost mystery?, Christmas story and I related so much to Claire and her being the one who plans and makes everything happen every year.. mastermind behind the scenes of joyous occasions and all.
I would recommend this for a quick fun holiday read and will be checking out more from this author.

This is a fun and entertaining short story from Chandler that will resonate for many women at Christmas. Adults Tyler, with his boyfriend, Angel, Channing, with her husband, Doug, and their 4 year old twins, Lark and Sable, and Sammy, who has just broken up with his girlfriend, arrive home looking forward to their traditional family Christmas. Their mother, Claire, can be relied on to whip up a magical festive spirit effortlessly, and what's more they know she wants to do it. If they were to help, they would just get in the way, so they let her just get on with it, barely acknowledging the hard work it all involves, leaving Claire exhausted and so desperately tired. Dad is the fun and goofy one, who entertains and makes everyone laugh. So amidst the chaos and craziness of the festive season, Claire is expected to care for the twins as well as be responsible for a mountain of other tasks such as wrapping up presents, so its perhaps no surprise she shows signs of ditziness. Everything comes to a head when everyone is at Disney on Ice, tickets organised by Claire, when it comes to their attention that Claire is not there and they hadn't even noticed. What could have possibly happened to her? Many thanks to Amazon Original Stories for an ARC.

Claire Clauster is my spirit animal. Christmas brings out a special kind of crazy in mothers, and Chandler Baker did an amazing job highlighting the humor in it all. “ Being a mother is the most wonderful gift. But, you know, where’s the gift receipt? I’d like to make a return, please.” Haven’t we all felt this way at one point or another? We’d be hard pressed to find anyone who said no. Claire goes frantic over the holidays making sure her family has the best Christmas all while inching closer to the deep end. When the family’s big holiday gift goes wrong, the family is left wondering what will become of Christmas. What will become of their mother- the tape that holds their wrapping paper together.
This book had me wishing I could take Claire for a cup of coffee, after the new year of course.

This holiday-themed short story confused me. Baker doesn't give much introduction to the story or the family - the reader is thrown right into the narrative. The writing style is hectic (mirroring how the Christmas season goes for many families), but it felt really jarring to me. My main issue with the story is that it didn't give me the heartwarming Christmas feelings I wanted to feel. Instead, I got to experience the pain of a dysfunctional family.

If you want a nontraditional Christmas story, you may enjoy this one more than I did!

⭐⭐⭐

This was a very fun Christmas read! It follows The Clauster family the week of Christmas. Mom's favorite day is Christmas! She loves giving presents and cooking for her family. She even loves doing the Elf on a shelf for her twin gran daughters!

She's doing it all for everyone but will anybody notice what she hints at all year? what she wants for her!? I recommend reading this to get into the holiday spirit!

Oh.What.fun also hits home if you're also a mom!
