I love fated mates, and this book was exquisite!
What a fun way to begin a story! Aye aye aye! It pulled me right in and I couldn't put the book down throughout the read!
Lucien, hot and steamy King of Vampires, has lived for ten thousand years, and isn't finding the joy of sex that he once did. That was, until he lays eyes on Phoebe, whom he knows is his fated mate. He grovels and pulls her in, and no matter how hesitant she was, they find each other and their love is like no other.
This was a steamy and fun read, and I loved it so much. I cannot wait for the next one!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in return for an honest review.
It was alright. Fun concept. Not my favorite writing style. I did really enjoy the vampire aspect. I didn’t connect to the characters as much as I wanted to.
I was given an ARC by Netgalley, in exchange for an honest book review.
This book had me hooked from the beginning. Thank goodness I started reading over a weekend!
If you are looking for a fated mate/lovers fantasy romance, love vampires, witches and Lycans, this is the book for you! Apart from the hate to love story it also has betrayal, secrets, deceit, vengeance and corruption.
Phoebe, the main female lead is a powerful and strong witch. Lucian, a ten-thousand-year-old “bored” vampire king who is also very powerful. Both characters struggle with trust, due to circumstances in their past, but find a “pull” that can’t be denied. You know how it is going end but is the getting there which makes for a great read.
This was an easy read and I highly recommend this book.
Not a bad plot idea, but the writing is not engaging. Mostly internal monologue and telling instead of showing; very little action, interaction, or dialog. And the writing is very repetitive: paragraphs, sentences, word choice. Lots of random little world-building thrown in. Basically reads like fanfic.

A Woman Fleeing Persecution...
Wow! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
From a Thousands year old vampire king getting everything he ever wants Until her the spice level is 🌶 🌶️🌶️
Plenty of Action from start to finish, I'm ready for book 2 now please
This was phenomenal!!! There is so much awesomeness in these pages. The characters were beautifully written the story had just the slightest twist so as not like every other vampire story. I can not wait to read more.... there has to be more, so many unanswered questions at the end.
This really was not for me and I was unable to finish.
The story line was ridiculous and very unbelievable which made it hard to get into.
I think this story has great potential. I loved the references to many supernatural beings and their history. I enjoyed the other characters like Erik and his wolves - I think they’ll have great stories of their own.
The pacing of the book was odd. It started to feel very intense and rushed towards the end.
While I like both main characters, I do feel like at times their relationship lacked chemistry and the sex scenes became very mundane - I was expecting a much more vibrant and spicy scene when they finally got together but it was very brief. As for them falling in love, I’m 100% confident they fell in lust but the love part needed a bit more oomph for me to be convinced.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and would read the next book. I think it’s a series that could really go places.
I enjoyed reading this book overall. I was invested in the main characters. There was a plot. I followed the world building. Sometimes these elements are not seen in romance book and I thought it had a good mixture. At times I felt the interactions between characters seemed a bit thin and rushed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and quick paranormal romance book.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I picked this book up thinking it was going to go a certain way. Then of course Lucien and Phoebe had other ideas altogether. It is like they need each other but use every excuse to try to stay away from each other. Then only to be forced back together. It was interesting and I wonder what the next book will hold.
This was a steamy read, perfect for late-night! I can't say it was one of my favorite books but it definitely was entertaining, especially if you like a good vampire story.
I would recommend it to other fantasy readers who are looking for a little spice in their lives.
I received this book free from NetGalley for my honest opinion.
This was a late night read for me on my Kindle, and thankfully it was dark because I blushed quite a few times. This was a fun storyline that was extremely steamy. Friendly reminder, this is a fantasy so sometimes things can be a bit.... different. In this book, different was good.
I was really hopeful for this book, but it just wasn't for me. I struggled to connect with the characters and I found the plot to be a little predictable. Additionally, the writing style just wasn't my favorite. Overall, I definitely think there is an audience for this story but it just wasn't me.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for giving me the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Netgalley for a ARC of this book.
I tried to read it. I really did, but I couldn't get through the first chapter. In the opening chapter Lucien Silvano describes how he isn't impressed with anything anymore because he has lived too long.... and there is some pretty impressive and surprising things going on at the time. But then he meets Phoebe Atreus, a witch on the the run, and is supposed to be impressed and deeply in love with her... instantly.. yes I know MATE..
*Insert eye roll* Okay yea.. sure. Anyways. I usually love books like this, but this one.. I just couldn't.
I really enjoyed this story. It had everything love, action, betrayal, lots of heat, suspense. Most importantly it had a story you wanted to follow, it kept me turning the pages. I read this twice and it still kept me bound to my seat.
The secondary character's are fabulous! You have a lycran king and his wolf guards who are incredibly entertaining and can't wait to read more about them,
Lucien the vampire King was okay. The problem I had with him was his on going problem everyone leaves me. ... two people and one grew up and keeps coming back. It was kind of immature for a thousand year old vampire King. Just my opinion. I liked him if not for that I would have loved him.
Phoebe is a strong witch and honesty I would have loved her if she wasn't so wishy-washy. Yes, Lucien is sexy but you lose all sense because he is. No just no. I wanted to shake her and say pick a lane!
However the store was strong enough for me to look past these thing's and really enjoy it,
Definitely recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book for a honest review.
Queen of Vampire Hearts by Jeanette Rose was very good. I could not put it down and finished it in a day. The world building was great, the plot was well developed, the characters were interesting, the emotions Phoebe and Lucien experienced felt real and believable, and oh man the steam 🔥. I’ve never read Jeanette Rose’s work before but you can bet that I will be looking at her body of work and watching/waiting for what’s coming next.

Fire. When you read this, you'll be on fire. Steamy sex scenes, palatable passion coming right off the pages. Throw in some action and self searching, you have a winner. Fiery so be warned.
MY REVIEW
I am not sure where to start with this, this book started off really good and kept my attention, but after a while it was a little hard to stick with.
Lucien is a really old vampire that has pretty much done and seen everything possible, but he's bored. He's always seeking a new challenge so when he find Phoebe and is instantly attracted to her in a way he's never been attracted to anyone he's surprised.
He knows right away she's meant for him and is his queen. Lucien has waited many years and never really thought about finding his mate. So Phoebe is definitely a shock to him.
Phoebe has been on the run for as long as she can remember because she was betrayed by someone she thought she could trust. Now she trusts no one. When she meets Lucien and has and insane attraction to him, she knows she needs to get away, but Lucien is having none of that.
Phoebe and Lucien are together and this is where I was really interested to see where the story went, but this is also where I became a little disappointed.
Phoebe and Lucien can't seem to have any conversations, every time they're together all they can seem to do is have sex. And this wasn’t really a big thing at first but it just seemed like all there was between them was sex and miscommunication or no communication.
I became increasingly frustrated with their lack of communication that it made it hard to keep reading.
Omg and there respective inner conversations was just too much. They kept going back and forth to themselves about the same thing this made the book drag. And I was kind of over it.
But I decided to keep reading and I started skimming through the endless sex scenes and inner musings to finally get to the end.
Now I wont say that this book was bad but there were parts that could have been cut out and it would have been more digestible.
I did enjoy Phoebe and Lucien’s characters and how they fit together, I just didn’t care for the fighting or f**king scenes. It’s seems like it went into just sex really quickly. Now if the characters would have had some sort of conversations I would have rejoiced.
I did love the paranormal aspects and how that worked into the story. And I really like these characters. I just wished there was less inner musings and sex and more relationship between the two.
Witches, Lycans, and Vampires, oh my!
Wrapped up my February reads with Queen of Vampire Hearts, the debut paranormal urban fantasy romance by @fatedloves!
I feel like Vampires are having a *moment* and making a comeback recently which I wholeheartedly support as an elder millennial.
This book is perfect if you enjoy:
-Boss Bitch Witches
-10,000 year age gaps
-Fated Mates
-Forced proximity via kidnapping
-Drinking on Bourbon Street
-David Boreanaz (#iykyk)
-Dual POVs
Our FMC, Phoebe, is a witch who has been on the run from the Witches Council for the last 10 years. That’s right folks she is over 30 👏👏👏. We love to see it! She’s also powerful, smart, and has a black cat familiar.
Our MMC, Lucien, is the King of the Vampires and generally bored with his immortal existence. So what better time for him to meet his fated mate, who doesn’t want anything to do with him? Now he is very stressed and pressed to get her to fall in love with him. What could go wrong?!
This book has a satisfying conclusion but sets the stage for book two, which I am now eagerly awaiting!
Grabs your attention from the start and it was not what I envisioned when I started. There were a few parts that leaned towards bdsm but it never got too deep in my opinion. I can't wait to read the next book
