This has got to be the strangest set of books I have ever read. At first I thought I had picked up a collection rather than a novel as each chapter was so separate, although I loved the conclusion at the end of each chapter and wanted more. The second book dragged and I nearly gave up. The third book final started to make sense - if you had managed to hold onto some of the many, crazy threads. The author has an amazing, complex and diverse mind - but I'm not sure mine is quite up to speed! I loved some of the storylines and wanted some of them to carry on, especially the spell book at the start. But it left me feeling not quite clever enough.
