This book had a wonderful high fantasy world but the writing style fell flat for me. Otherwise it held my interest and had a beautiful world! I would recommend this to others if they are into high fantasy.
Perfect fantasy romance read for those who are a fan of faes, an stories such as acotar and the cruel prince. Fell in love with this fantasy it had such a great story and romance that had me kicking my feet in the air!
Thank you NetGalley!
I am truly conflicted. I feel like the characters and elements of the story and the writing style show real promise, but the story itself unfortunately fell flat for me and I was left hoping for more. I guess overall I liked the world, I just needed a little bit more world building and character development to really feel emotionally connected to the story. I will definitely try more from this author in hopes it works for me.
I liked the premise, but the characters just were not it for me. It was too much, too soon, and very unlikeable.
Umm...soo...yeah, I read this. It has a pretty cover. I was told that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, so what I am going to say is that this book had potential, it just needed to be worked on more. The overall plot, world, characters, and idea of this book has a lot of potential that I can see being amazing, but it all needs to be fleshed out more.
This book sounded interesting at the start, but as the story went on I just lost interested and it became difficult to finish in a timely manner. The characters were very flat and basic for me. I often found them annoying. And I wish the author would have explained things better and added more backstory. I’m rather disappointed with this one.
The premise of this book was really great. It grabbed my attention quickly, unfortunately- it did not keep it. The characters did not feel real enough for me and it felt hard to connect to. I will say that I believe this author has promise, and will be able to fix these issues in future writings.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get invested into this book at all. I felt like a lot of necessary background details were left out, which was sad because the premise sounded really great. Hats off to the author for a great world building, but the characters and their unique development was just lacking and uninteresting. The romance also fell a bit flat for me, and it was marketed as a forbidden romance novel, but none of the elements of that trope were present. I got bored with Corvus and Saphyr’s relationship early on and found myself skimming a lot.
Although not for me- it might just be the book you need!
I can't say much about the story, only that now wasn't the right time to read it and that's why I decided to put it on the back burner and probably pick it up again in the future
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I love the way this book was put together. The world-building was doing brilliantly and helped to bring the rest of the story to life even more. Usually when the world is so well done the characters often suffer, but that was not the case at all. It kept me on the edge of my seat about what was going to happen next. It was a great way to series. I am looking forward to seeing where the plot goes.
I really wanted to like this book. The premise was promising. I even got over halfway through, but it was a struggle. I ended up with no finishing the book for the following reasons: the writing style felt immature and wasn't engaging for me and the plot as it unfolded just felt forced and underdeveloped. I think the writer has a lot of potential, but Immortal Souls wasn't for me.
personally this wasn’t for me, i felt like it had a lot of potential but the plot and the characters just were not great.
I felt like it could have been wrote better
At first I thought there was multiple points of view.
Wasn't really any likeable characters
I really enjoyed the writing style of this book but I found the world building and the characters really let the book down for me. I feel like there’s a fine line and it’s difficult to get it right because it’s the most difficult part of writing a book. I feel like a lot of initial information was left out and then quickly added in for the plot line to make sense. I like it but didn’t enjoy it.
Thank you to the publisher and author as well as netgalley for allowing me access to this eARC of this book and allowing me to give feedback and read books in exchange for a review.
This is a young adult fantasy novel with fae, treaties and forbidden royal romance which is enough for me. But it goes on this is a fast pacing story with relatable characters and a beautifully described fantasy world that I felt so far deep in I was almost living in the story. I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Thank You to NetGalley and Phoenix Vieira for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an hornest review.
"Immortal Souls" by Phoenix Vieira is the first book of a fantasy series and my first novel by this author.
I found it very difficult to get into the story. As reader you enter this story by driving directly into action and I had no idea what was going on. There is just too much happening at once which only leads to confusion. Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the characters or the story. Corvus was a very impulsive and emotionally driven character and was just too much for me. Saphyr was just pale and has absolutely no personality.
However, I liked the writing style of Phoenix Vieira very much and I also found her basic idea super! Unfortunately, I did not like the implementation.
I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley
Wonderful world building. Romance and fantasy in a beautiful package.
I really enjoyed this book. The pacing was spot on, and I loved the character's depths and how they interacted with everyone. It was such a fast, fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get lost in a great story for a while!
All in all, this is a solid read. With the writing style and content though, I would rate this is more of a younger YA fantasy. Were I in my early teens I would’ve absolutely devoured this book. To be honest, even in my 20’s I did appreciate the flow as it was easy to keep up with even with my ADHD. I think the storyline and plot were very well thought out and most of the plot twists were not predictable as happens frequently with YA fantasy. I do wish the characters could have been more fleshed out. I love that the characters are flawed without being demonized for it, I just wish we could’ve seen more of it.
Fast read, perfect for young adult fantasy fans. Humans, mythical creatures plus love, greed, treason, fights. Read to find out who has immortal soul 😃
