The Sea Glass Saloon is a popular stop in the cozy beachside community of Emerald Cove, Florida. Despite the cold January days, patrons still gather to visit with friends and quench their thirst. There to greet them are Chloe Jackson, the protagonist—waitress/bartender/co-owner; Vivi Jo Slidell, co-owner and mother of Chloe’s deceased best friend, Boone; and Joaquin—head bartender and all-around likeable guy. In the beginning of book three, the day starts off strange and keeps getting stranger for Chloe until she’s forced to take a break and decides to go for a run. When she encounters local Deputy Biffle investigating a body found floating in a nearby lake area; to her horror, Chloe realizes it’s her ex-fiancé, Perry Franklin, whom she’s had no contact with for over a year.
Author Harris pens an amazing tangled web of deceit in a plot that had me in awe at how unscrupulous some people turn out to be. Chloe’s ex-fiancé has a whole different side to him and a life that Chloe had never imagined in her time with him. Now, someone has targeted Chloe and her boyfriend, Rip Barnett, in an attempt to frame them for the murder. There are red herrings galore to try to throw readers off the trail of the real murderer. I found the story fun, with great pacing, and humor, which I always enjoy! I really like this cast of characters and always think of the TV show, Cheers, but in a lovely beach setting! I highly recommend this cozy mystery.
I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. all opinions are my own. Thank you.
I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While the third book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. Chloe Jackson moved to the small beach town of Emerald Coast, Florida, when her dear friend, Boone, was killed in Afghanistan and left her his house and partial ownership in a bar. The first two books dealt with her arrival, negotiations with Boone’s remaining family and a murder or two. In this installment, Chloe is surprised when she suddenly receives multiple gifts from a secret admirer who knows her preferences. It’s not her new significant other, Rip, so who could it be?
On her daily run, she’s appalled to find the body of her ex-fiancée, Perry, who should still be alive and in Chicago, clutching her picture in his dead hand. Circumstances implicate Rip and Chloe is determined to find out why Perry was in Emerald Cove, who killed him and clear Rip’s name from the suspect list.
A well written cozy with lots of suspects and threads to keep you guessing. I look forward to the next in this series.

Unputdownable whether you've read the earlier ones or not!
Earlier: When her best friend died in Afghanistan, Chicago children's librarian Chloe got herself down to the Florida panhandle to fulfill the promise she made after learning that he was not only in love with her but left his house, boat, and his share of the Sea Glass Saloon to her, making her part owner with his prickly aunt (who keeps trying to find dates for her).
Now: her Chicago past comes to haunt her by being stalked by the fiance she rejected over a year and a half ago. From there the publisher's blurb tells much without giving anything away. Loved it!
I was happy to get this ARC because I really loved the first two books in the series, so I can't really say this is an unbiased review.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
Florida cozy mysteries are fun to read. Essential to the plots are a mysterious death in a small town tourist village. The protagonist is often a small business owner or restaurant employee in a eatery catering to tourists, especially bars or coffee shops. Three Shots to the Wind by Sherry Harris, the third installment in the Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon mysteries, is a great addition to the genre. Chloe is a former children's librarian from Chicago who has relocated to Emerald Cove in the Florida Panhandle. Three Shots to the Wind involves the death of Chloe's former fiance and brings in Chloe's two brothers from Chicago to protect her while the local police department solves the crime--with, of course, Chloe's amateur sleuthing.
What a great series! I haven't read the first one but I'll do so now. I loved Chloe - she is smart and doesn't try my patience. She has a respectful relationship with the sheriff. Her friends are also charming. And what amazing descriptions of her house and beach and ocean. I'm in the desert here and really miss the beach. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me read this advance copy.
This was a great addition to this series. There is a lot going on in the book. I was glad to see that the relationship with Vivi seems to be improving. I had my suspicions about the perpetrator and was close. I will be looking for the next book.
Book 3 doesn't disappoint! A plane flying a banner, a delusional ex-fiancé (who it doesn't seem she really knew at all), roller derby, proper family honor, one-night stands...what could be better? There's plenty going on here, and I like seeing the evolution of Chloe's relationships with Vivi, Rip, and Joaquin. The mystery works out neatly, and even though I'm a native Floridian who doesn't really love Florida, I can't wait to visit Emerald Cove again!

I enjoyed this book. It's got interesting characters and a fast and easy story. I was definitely surprised by who the bad guy was. #ThreeShotstotheWind #NetGalley
Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of THREE SHOTS TO THE WIND (Book 3 of the Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon Mysteries), by Sherry Harris, in exchange for an honest review. Chloe Jackson is surprised and worried when a secret admirer starts sending her gifts, especially when an airplane flies overhead with a marriage proposal without her admirer identifying himself. Chloe soon figures out her ex-fiancé from Chicago is responsible for the gifts. However, Chloe no longer needs to worry about his unwanted advances because he was murdered. Soon, Rip Barnett, Chloe’s new relationship. becomes the prime suspect in the killing, so Chloe investigates her late ex-fiancé to find out who would kill a visiting tourist. As it turns out, Chloe never truly knew her ex-fiancé, and he had a lot more local connections than anyone would expect.
I like this book and this series. I recommend this book to fans of cozy mysteries.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. This is a mystery with believable characters. The protagonist is a former librarian who inherits interest in a bar. The dynamics of her life trying to solve the murder of her ex is intriguing. Although the story moves slowly at times, it comes to a satisfying conclusion. There were so many characters who might have killed the man, that I had to stop and concentrate fully on them instead of just enjoying the story. That being said, it is a good read, and I hope to read more from this author. Try it…
This is the third book in the series and it doesn’t disappoint. Chloe Jackson is shocked when she finds her ex fiancé dead on the beach. She learns he isn’t who she thought he was. Great book!

Chloe Jackson is working at the Sea Glass bar just like any other day. But soon this day becomes one to remember, and not for all the right reasons. It seems someone is trying to woo and romance Chloe, but she’s not quite sure who it is at first, but after the plane fly over with a banner declaring their love for Chloe, then a delivery of her favorite flowers and wine, she knows it’s her ex. When the day ends with her ex dead and her current flame the prime suspect, Chloe vows to find the real killer.
Even with her brothers showing up to protect her, Chloe finds ways to keep sleuthing. It seems a lot of women who had relationships with her ex, Perry, are also in town…then there’s a little family secret Chloe stumbles on and the field of suspects gets even bigger. Can Chloe clear Rip of the accusations before he’s charged for something he didn’t do and set Perry to rest? She hopes so, and she hopes to do it while remaining on this side with Rip.
A great series. I really enjoy Sherry Harris’ work and faithfully read all of her series. She’s that good! If you haven’t read one of her books yet, this is a great way to start. While a series, each one can be read as a standalone, though you’ll want to read the others once you’re done. Settle in and enjoy some warm weather in Florida’s panhandle and throw in a tropical drink and you’re set.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle by Kensington Books and #NetGalley for my honest opinion. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
The third in an established cozy mystery series is just as delightful, entertaining, suspenseful and intriguing as the two prior. If you like Sherry Harris you’ll enjoy this addition to her collection.
Chloe Jackson is back in the third book in this charming series by Sherry Harris.
I began reading Three Shots to the Wind immediately and I didn't put it down until I finished.
I was immediately intrigued when Chloe began to receive odd gifts, sender unknown, until she discovers a body, which sends her world into a tailspin.
When bits of truth begin to surface, Chloe starts to piece the puzzle together, but will she solve the mystery in time?
Fans of this author will be excited to read this latest book by such a talented author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

I love the Chloe Jackson, Sea Glass Saloon series by Sherry Harris and this 3rd book is my favorite! It has everything I love about cozy mysteries - likable interesting characters, an intriguing mystery, family, friendship, humor, and a little romance. Chloe is part owner of the Sea Glass Saloon which is a beach bar in Florida. The major owner is Vivi and Joquin works there too. Chloe's ex- fiance, Perry,, is in town for a work convention. It's kind of odd that he has been there for a while and Chloe didn't run into him, but that is minor. Perry gets in a fight with her current boyfriend Rip. When Perry ends up dead, Rip is a suspect. Chloe's two brothers show up to keep an eye on her.. They add some humor.. Some secrets are revealed which keeps the story interesting. It was hard to put down! It is well written and is a very enjoyable cozy mystery! #NetGalley #ThreeShotsToTheWind #SherryHarris #KensingtonBooks
Three Shots to the Wind by Sherry Harris is the third in the Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon Mystery series. Chloe is surprised - to say the least - to be the recipient of an outpouring of admiration in the form of skywriting, flowers and wine from a secret admirer. When she discovers the dead body of her ex-fiancée, she learns that there was a lot that she didn’t know about him.
This is definitely one of my very favorite mystery series. The characters are so relatable and three dimensional that I feel like I’m meeting up with old friends when I begin each new book. The plot is always thoughtful and realistic with any number of twists and turns. The “tell” - for me - of a well-written mystery is that I remember the characters and background between books, and that is definitely the case with this series. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.). If you haven’t read the Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon Mysteries and you love cozies, do not hesitate! Start this series today.
Loved reading this book. The series is very good and the author. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend doing so
Good book! This wasn't A hard core mystery thriller but it did have suspense, intrigue, and some great investigative action! The storyline was very interesting, there wasn't blood and morbid things happening , there was murder and good investigation! I would definitely recommend this book, as its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
Three Shots to the Wind by Sherry Harris is a great cozy mystery that is the third book in the Chloe Jackson, Sea Glass Saloon Mystery series. I am really liking this series.
I have to say that after getting know the character cast and getting some backgrounds and foundations established, this series is really blossoming. I enjoy Chloe, her inner monologues, the general wit, sarcasm, banter, and one-liners. The cheekiness balances out nicely with the murder/mysteries. I also enjoy Chloe and Rip together.
I also enjoyed this murder/mystery involving her ex. Chloe gets roped into finding the culprit and solving the mystery, when initial eyes look towards her newly founded romantic interest….can she solve the murder, mystery, and find the truth before her safety comes into question?
I enjoyed finding out and I look forward to seeing where else this series will be taking us in the future.
4/5 stars
