This series just continues to hit hard with the betrayals from those who should have people’s backs, the hatred from those who should love, and the snap judgments from those who should really know better by now. Granted, tensions are high and danger is choking everyone, but a few folks needed a reminder to rein in their tempers and assumptions a time or two.
Overall, I enjoyed Finn and Destiny immensely. There’s the requisite drama, the shock over who really holds the secrets and the power, and then the moment of feeling that this can’t possibly all work out okay. And for some, it doesn’t. But those few truly deserved what they get in the end, and even if it’s painful to witness, it’s true to the life that these families live. The fact that Destiny doesn’t shy away from Finn or life proves that she’s absolutely meant to be a part of this family, and she’s welcomed to the life she should have with open arms by one and all. Eventually.
And best yet, we’re closer to Jade and her vengeance than ever before. I can’t wait to see how she gets her chance at payback!
Once again this author has written another outstanding book to add to and enhance this series.
The continuing mafia/clann plot is just as dramatic and intense along with the sparks flying between new couple Liam & Destiny. All the female characters in this series are strong and kickass and Destiny is no exception with a sarcastic wit and razor sharp tongue.
I highly recommend this series to all mafia romance lovers.
Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion. This book was really, really good. It was filled with suspense and romance. I did have a concerning thought with the age difference of the main characters but it is fictional. Overall, this was a great suspenseful romance. A must read!
5*
Finn is very protective of Mackenna their bond formed when he helped her.
He's been looking for answers since his father's murder and he was shot and now has a name.
Destiny has realised her father isn't a man to be trusted, but her saviour comes as a surprise.
Another great addition to the series.
I really enjoyed this one and I’m thinking I really need to go back and read the first two books. Bloody Union and Unexpected Union. Since this is turning into an addictive series.
Anyway I liked both Finn and Destiny. She’s another strong female and the perfect match for him. She gave as good as she got and together they work.
If I’m being honest this had a couple of bits I didn’t like and it should have been a 3* read. But I moved past my issues and really enjoyed it.
And while I’m looking forward to the next book. I know going in it’s not going to be an easy read.
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
Another great story in this series, with a very strong heroine Destiny who is a good match for Finn. They have to deal with not just one attack against the family but two.
Lots of twists in this book and a few more gruesome bloodthirsty descriptions of torture than in the previous stories, but that is Finn’s trademark.
This is another solid book in this series! While we’ve seen Finn in precious books, we didn’t have a lot of details on him. After the last book and how devastated he was, it was no surprise to me that he sought Destiny out. While she was supposed to be a pawn, he gets much more than he bargained for with a heroine who is explosive and matches his personality.
There were a lot of shocks with a big traitor plot that really surprised me.
My favorite aspect of this series is the variety in which this family finds their partners. Every story feels completely different, yet completely in tune with the larger family values. It’s really neat to follow because it can be hard to find a series where the differences still work as a whole.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
