This is the first book I read from Robin Lee Hatcher and it will not be the last! The writing in this book was superb. I enjoyed the way in which the author moved from past to present and back again throughout the book. This story gave me all the feels. Hopefully someone will consider turning this into a movie someday. This book was a romance story but also made it feel like it was based on a true story.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

A beautiful story of God's mercy that doesn't leave out the need for genuine repentance, this novel captures the drama of a scarlet-letter sin, the man who covers it with grace, and the revelation of the truth, while also bringing in a double storyline of a modern day young woman and her own moral struggle.

After finishing I'll Be Seeing You by Robin Lee Hatcher, I was basically sure of two things. First, that despite it only being April, this is undoubtedly going to be one of the best books I read the entire year. And secondly, that no matter what words I use in my review, it will never be enough to do this beautiful story justice.

I've been a fan of this author's books for a lot of years, and I truly think she is the absolute queen of the dual timeline genre. She has a masterful talent at being able to pull readers into the story happening in both the present and the past, and this was truly one of those stories where I just wanted the real world to cease to exist for a couple of hours so I wouldn't have had to put this book down.

I really enjoyed the way that not only does this book take place in the present, and in the past in the years during World War Two, it also gives multiple characters POV's in both time periods. It helped the story become something even more hearing from all the various characters that were involved in the occurring events.

A story wrapped up in faith, family, history, redemption, and of course, Biblical wisdom, I loved every moment of it, and never wanted to see it come to an end. I loved the focus on what redemption actually means, and how much meaning and importance is tied up in forgiveness. I enjoyed Daisy as a character especially, and how she's been determined for so many years to live her life in a way that honors her Lord and Savior above everything else.

The plot point about Brianna coming to Daisy in the present about a project for her college history class was an interesting addition, and I enjoyed how it gave Daisy a chance to both share her past with her much younger relative, but also encourage her to think twice about making the same mistakes in her younger years that she did.

I absolutely loved this one, and it's definitely another stand out from Robin Lee Hatcher in the Christian fiction genre. It's truly unlike anything I'd ever read before, and is honestly the author at her very best.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I can't possibly recommend this one enough, and I'm so thankful to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to advance read and review it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Thomas Nelson) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review.

This story occurs in two time lines, the present and flashbacks to WWII. A Great Granddaughter is interviewing her Great Grandmother for a college course. The flashbacks follow the Great grandmothers life and the present follow the Great Granddaughter. This is a story about family, faith, love, loss and forgiveness. Thank you to net galley for an advanced copy.

Brianna wants to be independent of her parents and do what she likes. She is enthralled with the charming Greg. Her great-grandmother Daisy asks what he character is like. He’s nice and he’s fun and he likes her. What more could she hope for? Her sense of entitlement worries Daisy.
Daisy came of age during WWII. She loved Brandan, but he loved her sister Lillian. Lillian was a piece of work, selfish, manipulative, expecting to force Brandan to do her will. Then one night everythging changed, with repercussions for all three of them. Daisy learned that God is a God of grace and mercy. She prays her great-granddaughter does not make the same mistakes.
By the end, Brianna has learned hard lessons of her own, and now listens to godly advice.
Themes incluide forgivieness and when is it okay to lie?

I was a bit leery of the storyline when I could tell right away that this book featured a heroine who was in love with her sister's boyfriend. But, this split-time tale drew me in, and before I knew it, I was engrossed in both Daisy's and Brianna's lives, past and present.

I'll Be Seeing You has some very poignant lessons about the consequences of our decisions, and the power of forgiveness. Thus, I was able to gloss over spots in the WWII timeframe where the language didn't feel exactly historically accurate.

Content Note: due to some of the subject matter, I would recommend this book for older teens and up.

A thoughtful dual timeline story focused on a relationship between generations. The World War Two homefront setting will especially interest fans of that era.

There is a lot of biblical wisdom passed down from a family matriarch to her great granddaughter, tucked into the characters' conversations and recollections. The strong Christian message is uplifting and encouraging for all ages. I loved how Daisy (or GeeGee) recalls her past wistfully and sees herself in Brianna, recalling God's grace to her and His lovingkindness shown over the years despite her mistakes. She made me miss my own grandmother and be thankful for her godly example. I could pray along with Daisy, "Have I run a good race, Lord? Am I finishing well?"
Daisy's story is one that many can relate to and is similar to the struggle Brianna has, with her desires to be loved by someone who tempts us to compromise our convictions. The power of prayer is demonstrated, and the application of Scripture to helping overcome temptations, find forgiveness, and move forward. Todd is a great underdog hero and a wonderful example of a godly man; the unsung hero who is so often overlooked. I was cheering for him all along.
This would be a good read for Christian teens and up. Recommend! 4.5 stars

I love timeslip books, and WWII-era reads, so this one hit both those marks. The faith element is woven throughout but is not overwhelming. Characters were well-drawn and realistic. Hatcher seamlessly weaves the two time periods together to craft an engaging, heartfelt read. Themes of faith, forgiveness, and redemption are key.

I have been reading and loving Robin Lee Hatcher’s books for years. I’ll Be Seeing You is a dual timeline story that I was so completely invested in that I hated to see it end. It’s full of complex family relationships, romance, mistakes, grief, grace, and redemption.

I loved Daisy and her life story and how her relationship grew with Brianna, her great granddaughter, in the telling of it. I loved every character and their complexity and their growth throughout the story. I also love how Ms. Hatcher always weaves in faith so beautifully and naturally.

This is a wonderful story. One that I won’t soon forget. I really need to catch up on Ms. Hatcher’s books that I’ve missed. Highly recommended!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Wow! What a great story about forgiveness and how once choice can completely change the trajectory of your life. It not only changed her life, but the life of lots of people around her. This book is also a good look into what life was like in the U.S. after Pearl Harbor. I love the college assignment that Brianna has that is connecting her with her great-grandmother and learning about history. I don't think that enough people are taking the time to really learn anything anymore. To learn and and remember it. This was a fantastic read!

Brianna hates history, but has to take a class in college. 50% of her grade is determined by one assignment - interviewing the oldest member of your family.
Brianna visits her great grandmother, Daisy, who shares her story of life just prior to and during World War 2. Being a Christian is central to both of their lives, but Daisy tells of the consequences of a major mistake she made as a teenager, and the life altering, long reaching impacts a moment of weakness made.
I lived many things about this book! It’s refreshing to read a book without obscenities. This is a deep story that doesn’t pretend that living a Christian life is easy, but instead reminds us that we are not alone in our decisions. Highly recommended.

Brianna is a college student who decides to interview her great-grandmother, Daisy, for an assignment. We get to hear about Daisy's life during WWII and also Brianna' budding romance with a new man in her church.

The is a story told in multiple POVs and in dual timelines. This works really well and keeps the story moving quickly. Robin Lee Hatcher is a good writer, especially in driving the plot, but I didn't really connect with the characters. I enjoyed Daisy's POV but Brianna was a little annoying, although I think that was on purpose. She was really young and had a lot to learn, and I think her character had grown nicely by the end of the book.

This was an interesting look into sisterhood, friendships, romance, and God's forgiveness. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys women's fiction and Christian romance.

I'll Be Seeing You is an inspirational multigenerational novel spanning decades from the 1940's to the present. The comparison of the actions of the 98 year old greatgrandmother Daisy and her greatgranddaughter Brianna is remarkable and so important in our world of lack of morals today. The Book emphasizes how God is still working in lives today.

A book that is told, from a narrative in the 1940's during World War II. Daisy Abbott has been in love with her sisters boyfriend, since she was 14.
Brandon Gallagher, is a pilot, enlisted and ready to be sent to fight. One decision changes everything.
There is a second narrative in the present, told from a young college age, Brianna Kinnear. Her grandmother shares what it was like to live during World War II.
A book about decisions, consequences and forgiveness.

This is a dual time frame story. But it flows better because an elderly great grandmother is remembering her young years during WWII with her great granddaughter in recent times.
Set in Boise, I’m trying to imagine what the town looked like in the 1940’s. As an Idaho native, Boise is way too big for my liking and much smaller Idaho towns are easier to envision decades ago.
There is history, along with the reality of sins consequences, even after we repent and are forgiven.
A book well worth reading.

This is one of the most thought provoking novels that I have ever read!

I really love Brianna, Daisy, Adam, Hannah, and Todd. I think that my favorite character though is Professor Meyer. He is mentioned but never actually in any of the dialogue. But the assignment that he gave to his college history class was absolutely fantastic! I sort of wish that I had had a teacher that gave that type of assignment. It took a student who hated history and turned her around.

I was completely caught up in the plot of this book. Both time periods were captivating. They way that they related to each other was wonderful. I was extremely happy to see how both Brianna and Daisy grew and matured. It was wonderful to see the growth in their relationships with God.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, through NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.

I''ll Be Seeing You is a dual timeline story. One story takes place in the early years of WWII. The Abbott family consists of a mother and father and two daughters Daisy and Lillian. Daisy has been infatuated with Brandon since she was 14. She's not close to 20. Problem in that her sister Lillian is dating Brandan and hopes they will marry before he enlists in the military. I loved this storyline . Daisy made many mistakes and I loved seeing how she grew through her mistakes. I loved all the characters in that timeline. Todd was an amazing individual. The only person I took an extreme dislike to was her sister. She was spoiled and thought only of herself.
The second timeline is the present time. Daisy is 98 years old but still has a mind as sharp as tacks. She hopes her great granddaughter Brianne will not make the same mistakes that she did and gives her Godly advice. She also prays to God to protect her great granddaughter's heart.

Thomas Nelson and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
