The perfect gift for the Nutella lover in your life. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of recipes within this book and had a great time trying many of them. They were easy to follow and amazing to taste!
Impressive book on recipes created with Nutella. Mentioning the history of the gourmet, this book also contains some basic recipes for you to create scrumptious sweets made from the hazelnut chocolate spread. From the easiest (and also mouthwatering) to the complicated ones.
Nutella: 60 Classic Recipes: From Simple, Family Treats to Delicious Cakes & Desserts: Official Cookbook by Grégory Cohen is the Official Nutella® Cookbook. The hazelnut cocoa spread that is a staple of the breakfasts and snacks for some is taken to a new level here by Chef Grégory Cohen in 60 recipes. Discover a delicious array of cakes, pastries and desserts made with the classic store cupboard ingredient. Bakes include Nutella® mixed berry muffins, babka and orange cake, alongside delights such as Tarte Tatin, vanilla & praline éclairs and Yule log. With techniques and recipes to suit every level of expertise, this book will appeal to everyone with a shared love of the World-famous spread.
Nutella: 60 Classic Recipes gives readers exactly what the title promises. The recipes vary from things that I would be perfectly comfortable whipping up this weekend, some that I might pull out for my annual holiday treat trays, some I might pull out for special occasions, and some that I find a little to fussy and fancy for my kitchen. All that washes out to, there is something here for every fan of this ingredient. I found the instructions and information to be well organized and written, with photographs that were a great match. I like that imperial and metric measurement where included, so bakers of either preference can jump in without doing additional calculations. I do think that the recipes are geared a bit towards more experienced bakers, as some of the recipes could be challenging and more than a little intimidating to real beginners. However, I think some of these recipes might be doable for more novice bakers, but as someone that has spent a good amount of time baking some of these recipes are well beyond my comfort zone.
*received for free from netgalley for honest review* i didn't grow up eating nutella so there was a lot of cool recipes i've never heard of and lots of ones that i knew but they spiced up!
4 stars
This recipe book was very well set out with clear instructions, nice illustrations and although some recipes are a little tricky most are kid friendly.
We liked that it included some unusual ingredients for basic recipes and my Nutella mad daughter loved creating and eating these recipes!
The only downside was a few of the recipes only require Nutella spread on after the recipes made which didn’t seem in keeping with the rest of the book.
Many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
When you'd much rather make nutella into something rather than just eating it out of a jar with a spoon like the rest of us, this book is an excellent resource. So many different, delicious-sounding dessert recipes! Mmmm, nutella. These desserts will be delicious if you're patient, but if you're impatient, there's always just you and a spoon...
Ohhhh, Nutella... how wonderful you are! Being an Italian-American, I am a HUGE fan of Nutella. So, when I got the chance to review this book by Grégory Cohen I was super excited. As I went through the pages, my mind was blown how Mr. Cohen had incorporated Nutella into classic dessert recipes. The one that stood out to me the most was the nutella tiramisu. I make a great tiramisu but never ever thought about adding nutella. Now, this is the first one to add to my list. The reason I am giving this 4 stars vs 5 is because of the recipes are not your common dessert recipes, but classic French and Italian desserts aka fancy desserts. Most standard home cooks may not know or want to create these kinds of desserts.
I was able to preview a complete copy of Nutella: 60 Classic Recipes. I chose this cookbook because Nutella is such a fun spread, but I've never imagined using it in a recipe! I was intrigued by the idea of seeing Nutella used as something other than a spread on toast, and I was rewarded with beautiful photos of elegant-looking creations.
In addition to Nutella recipes and photographs, the book includes a history of Nutella, tips for utensils, cooking techniques, and directions for creating several pastries and cakes that will be used in the recipes. The book is divided into sections: Classics, Cookies and Cakes, Desserts for Guests, and Choux Pastries. An Ingredient Index and Recipe Index wrap up this cookbook perfectly.
I don't know that I would actually make any of these recipes - possibly the "chocolate and Nutella cereal bars" - but the images were truly beautiful and I was surprised to see how Nutella could be incorporated into a variety of dishes, whether fun or fancy.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this cookbook in exchange for my honest review.
Some really good mouthwatering recipes that can be tried for special occasions for Nutella lovers. I loved all the pictures that would trigger an appetite. The measurements and alternates mentioned would be of great help whole trying out the recipes.
A great range of nutella based recipes. I cant wait to try them all out. All recipes are well set out and easy to follow.
4☆ A Mouth-watering Baking Book for Nutella Lovers
This Scrumptious Cookbook is a Nutella Fan's ultimate dream. The pictures are mouth-watering and the recipes irresistible.
There is a little bit of Nutella History to wet your appetite, then it goes on to show you some great techniques such as making different pastry. Which was a great addition.
Firstly I want to give HUGE PRAISE for the inclusion of All different kinds of metric measurements so that you don't have to rack your head round conversions.
Oh and also another ☆ for inclusion of US and UK ingredients ie, all purpose flour & plain flour, Cornflour and Cornstarch listed in the ingredients.
My only niggle is that if you are new to baking then the step by step methods don't give much details. In some cases this is actually not a bad thing as one recipe doesn't always need huge paragraphs to explain what to do. But as I can imagine this book is going to be pretty popular it could of done with a bit more tweaking.
Some of the ingredients could work out costly but for me if I was to bake from this book it would probably be a special occasion.
The only other thing is some of the equipment could work out costing if you haven't got them already, such as Madeleine tins, cake tins, ramekins.
There are soo many mouth-watering delights within this book. There is something for everyone.
A few examples are, Nutella Banana Bread, Chocolate and Nutella Fondants, Mini Doughnuts with Nutella Centre, Nutella Babka, Sesame Financiers with Nutella Centres, Nutella Marble Madeleines, Nutella Pastry Boats, Cannelés with Nutella Centres, Hazelnut Praline and Nutella Macarons, Mango-Passion Fruit and Nutella Éclairs Nutella Soufflés, to name a few.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this gorgeous book and look forward to trying some of the recipes out.
It will definitely make a fantastic gift.
Just one ickle bit of advice, don't read it on an empty tummy as the pictures truly will get your tummy rumbling!
Thank you to Quarto Publishing & Netgalley for my copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Growing up in Europe, Nutella was a main staple in my diet. Breakfast, lunches, snacks, and ok, let’s be real, even dinner sometimes. I might even have been guilty of sneaking spoofulls of this sweet goodness. Then I grew up and moved onto grown up foods. Until one day, my own sweet Little surprised me with crepes for Mother’s Day and remembering that I’d once confessed how much I loved Nutella as a Little, she smothered my crepe in my forgotten favorite treat. Suddenly I found myself craving it, but perhaps in more grownup style. Whatever that means. Then this book. So many amazing dishes and treats I’d see in restaurants and bakeries are now easily at my disposal. Delicacies I never thought I’d be able to create are brought to life in this fantastic book. Technique, style, and how-to’s are readily shared. The pictures are inspiring and remind me what I’m working towards. An inspiring cookbook that pays tribute to the best sweet treat for indulgence.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Nutella: 60 Classic Recipes is a mouthwatering recipe book full of the most amazing looking treats all with Nutella in the recipe!
I love the selection of recipes within this book - something for basically everyone and so many different ideas of using Nutella too.
The beginning of the book gives you a short story of how Nutella was made and how it became the spread it is today which I found really interesting. It was a story I didn't know too!
I received the ebook version of this book to read and review and most of the photographs were blurry which I was disappointed in - I'm sure the physical book is perfect though!
Looking forward to trying almost all of these recipes!

Who doesn’t love Nutella? Although it’s great spread on bread or toast, it’s also wonderful as an ingredient in luscious desserts and pastries. Nutella: 60 Classic Recipes: From simple, family treats to delicious cakes & desserts: Official Cookbook by French celebrity chef, Grégory Cohen. It is an official cookbook from the Nutella company, and like official company cookbooks, uses Nutella to its advantage. These desserts are so good, bakers will purchase Nutella over and over again to make these desserts.
One of the early chapters in this excellent cookbook includes basics to use Nutella with: cream puffs, sponge cake, shortbread crust, etc. Another chapter covers basic techniques, as well as suggested utensils to make it easier to put beautiful Nutella desserts together. The remaining chapters include mouthwatering recipes that every baker will want to make, including fruit desserts, muffins, cakes, pies, puddings, and choux desserts.
The photographs in this cookbook are beautiful, and make it difficult to decide what to make next. My queue includes Nutella profiteroles, Chocolate and Nutella mousse, and Nutella Black Forest Gateau. These recipes are perfect for a fancy dessert for guests, but families will love them too. The recipes are written in a traditional form with a list of ingredients and numbered instructions that are succinct and easy-to-follow. The cookbook also includes an ingredient index to help bakers find recipes using ingredients they already have on hand.
Anyone who loves Nutella will definitely want to add this fun cookbook to their cookbook collection.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
This cookbook is amazing I never knew that you could make so many different recipes using nutella
Everything looks so delicious and actually seems that I would be able to make the recipes without too much hassle.
The book is well laid out and easy to follow with chapters including
basics
classics
cookies and small cakes
Desserts for guests, to name a few
I really enjoyed reading the history of nutella and learned a lot about the company
I've got my eye on a few recipes to try out but especially the banana and nutella pie, it looks delicious!
When I saw a cookbook of Nutella recipes, I jumped for joy! And, this cookbook did not disappoint. It begins with a set of illustrated recipes for the basic cake and pastry aspects of the recipes that follow. I especially appreciated the photos that went with each step of the basic recipes. Then, the rest of the book is filled with awesome recipes from basic mousse and truffles to more unexpected flavor combinations such as Poached Pears with Nutella Centers and Orange and Nutella Cake. The Black Forest Gateau is a work of art, and the Nutella Tiramisu made my mouth water! Macarons, eclairs and other French pastries are included. If you like Nutella, you'll love this cookbook. Recipes are easy to follow and include both metric and US/English measurements. Each recipe is accompanied by at least one enticing photo of the finished product. I'm going to get several copies for my Nutella-loving friends!
Who knew so many delicious treats could be made from Nutella? I didn't and now I can't wait to start creating!
