I definitely think I am just not the target reader for this book. I have unfortunately outgrown the allure of character like Derek who hold double standards and treat characters like Mara like they can walk all over them. I think that this book was definitely filled with angst and I liked Mara, but I just did not like Derek and I found myself not rooting for them. I will try other books by this author in the future because I think this might be a situation of wrong character wrong reader, but overall this unfortunately just did not work for me even though it had elements that I liked.

I love second chance romances and this one was definitely a great one! I will definitely be reading more from Dangerfield in the future.

I feel like Netgalley misadvertised this one. Because if this was described as it was on Goodreads, I wouldn't have picked it up. On Netgalley, it appeared to be a cute contemporary romance, which the cover only strengthened. No mention of the kink was made, which was one of my main problems with the book.

And im not saying that the kink was badly written, it just wasn't my thing. It wasn't what i was expecting, and not what I wanted to read.

But the main, glaring problem was our male main character, Derek. He was a jerk. A total, domineering jerk. And not in a hot way. No, he was just a jerk. Mara deserved better.

Honestly, I don't feel like giving this book any more of my time, so that's the end of my review. This wasn't my type of book, and not an author I look to continue reading from.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review

I love a second chance romance and this one hits all the marks in my cards. Steamy to the point of my kindle catching fire, great chemistry and characters with quite a few stubborn moments from her part, but all within reason for not getting her heart broken again.

Looking forward to read more by the author

Totally didn’t realize this was part of a series until I was pretty far into it and had a feeling like perhaps I wasn’t getting the full picture. There feels like spice on nearly every page. Although the Daddy Kink isn’t for me- it didn’t kill the story for me. Mara and Derek were high school sweethearts that reunited after 10 years apart- although it seems Derek never grew up. Anytime he makes a mistake, it needs to be painfully spelled out.

2.5 stars, rounded up.
While this book had some fantastically steamy scenes, funny side characters, and even an adorable puppy, I had more issues with it than not.
This is the story of Derek and Mara's second chance romance. They were high school sweethearts, separated when Derek moved away to become a professional athlete and left Mara behind in their hometown. This story takes place 10 years later when they are unexpectedly reunited. Mara is reluctant at first, and then moves on to saying they can just be f*ck buddies, then finally gets worn down by Derek's constant pressure to get back together.
So, Derek is an asshole. Just, across the board, a total twat. Mara deserves better.
I didn't understand why there was a need for secrecy regarding Mara's wealth. It wasn't even a dramatic reveal. It just seemed silly.
And the biggest issue, for me, was how their daddy kink came into play. I have no issue with two consenting adults role playing or anything. It was just cringeworthy that they supposedly started this in high school. I just fine it hard to believe, too. Perhaps that's just me, though.
All this being said, I would read something else by this author, but I would want to try a different series.

I am a big fan of Eve Dangerfield and was disappointed with the earlier title in this series. So, I started this title with trepidation and almost gave up. I was super turned off by the brand name dropping and the vast wealth of the heroine, to be honest I don't like a billionaire HERO either. But I'm glad I stuck it out because this was a return to the addictive, steamy romance I expect from Dangerfield.

There is age play between the hero and heroine, which may or may not be your thing. I feel like it's well done, and made sense for the characters. Some may characterize it as erotica because of this, I'm on the fence.

The book as a whole was somewhat uneven, but between the pacing, the chemistry between the leads, and the bone deep feels it gave me I'd give it 4 stars.

I was really happy to see this author back doing what she does, but this was not he return to form I was hoping for. I like an alpha hero as much if not more than the next person, but Derek was not it. His sense of entitlement to a whole person was a little bit icky. His behaviour at the end is also abominable. It is called out by the other characters, but he just spends the whole book making one stupid mistake after the other until I don't see them together as a couple anymore. I wish Mara hadn't forgiven him - she's a wonderful heroine who deserves so much better, like Derek's friend who's starring in the next book.

I just really wasn't a fan of the MMC, Derek. He came off as a jerk, and it wasn't doing it for me. Oh well.

Sadly this book just didn't capture me. I only got to about the 25% mark and I feel like I waited a bit too late for a redeeming quality on this book. The characters just didn't jive for me. It's so disappointing since I've only heard great things about this author. I will read a book by her again because I want to be proved wrong.

It is my first Eve Dangerfield book and it was quite a change, the way she writes intrigued me and as I began to enter the story I was more and more hooked, it was impossible to put it down
.
Mara left her past behind, stopped waiting for her first love and over the years reinvented herself into a strong, successful and independent woman, the least she expects is to meet Derek after so many years and that he would look at her as if not a minute had passed
.
Derek can't believe that after so many years he finds Mara again and despite his crazy sex life he is willing to put everything aside and do everything possible to get her back.
.
What Derek wants is very different from what Mara wants and finally there is a writer who does justice to what a woman who achieved so much wants, Dangerfield gives a unique nuance to Mara, reclaiming her own identity without neglecting her insecurities and the pain of her past, she owns it and does not change it for anything or anyone
.
In this book you will find a strong, independent and powerful woman. An alpha deportist man who has a lot to learn and give up to achieve what he wants and all that in the beautiful Australia. A second chance romance where the power is totally equal and leaves you wishing that both characters meet and get their happy ending
.
Trigger Warning, there are bdsm and role play scenes that are very well written and perfectly intertwine with trust, respect to grow the relationship between both characters in a smooth and perfect way
.
My first Eve Dangerfield but for sure no the last. I really enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to read the next one
.
Thanks to Eve Dangerfield and Expresso Book Tours for give me this great book in exchange for my honest opinion I really enjoyed it

High school sweethearts who were opposites in every way, get together. They break up since Derek got a contract to play ball and left Mara thinking she will wait for him. Problem is Derek wasn’t a good boy while gone. 10 years later they meet up again. This time Mara isn’t so quick to trust Derek with her heart again. This was a lot back and forth with some kink it you’re into that which I don’t mind, but wanted to warn. It was an interesting read and the first by this author for me.

OMG, I loved this book so much

This book is about Mara and her ex-high school boyfriend Dereck, aka her Daddy. after their break up, mara became a multi-millionaire and Dereck a football player. One day they meet again and all their hidden feelings are exposed

I enjoyed every second of this book, their rekindling, their love, and definitely their sexy moments.
I read the book in one sitting.
I recommend this book to everyone

Thank you, NetGalley and the publishers for this copy, I'm giving my review voluntarily.

Okay, to be honest, I really didn't like this book.

I chose the book because of the cover and didn't go into the description because I like to read the book when I know as little as possible about it. Sometimes the description says more than I would like to know. It was my mistake for not reading it more carefully.
I had a lot of issues with this book, here are some of them:
1. The cover of the book was supposed to have a picture of an actual person/couple. As far as I've seen, these are usually the books that are kinky. The cover makes it feel like the book will be very fluffy, but it really isn't.

2. Did the book have a plot at all? I do not think so. I can't understand what the intention was for this book. I think it should be just a smut romance without any backstory. Just straight forward.

3. I wasn't a fan of Derek's character. He is just an asshole through the whole book.

4. Yeah, I don't get why the reveal of the reason why Mara was rich was so late in the book. It didn't made a sense at all. And I don't get the how she earns money if she buys a lot of buildings for a lot of money and works in a non-profit organization. (Maybe I just don't know how the organisation works at all. I'm not familiar with it.)
Not all was bad, I did enjoyed some of the sex scenes and first 20% of the book.

I hope someone else will enjoy this book far more than I did!
Thank you for the experience!

This was my first Eve Dangerfield book, and while I do appreciate how steamy it was, daddy kink isn't my particular jam. Both Mara and Derek's pasts were kept secret for too long, and once Mara's was revealed, I didn't understand why she was so adamant about keeping how she made her money secret. Derek was deeply immature and his eventual grovel was definitely not enough for me; Mara is a bit more mature, but she runs away every time things got hard or uncomfortable, which got tiresome. Both of them desperately need therapy (to be clear, not because of their kink, but because both have been severely traumatized by their childhoods and have not found good coping strategies), but the story seems to suggest that their love for each other will be enough to save them, which seems like a disaster waiting to happen. 2.5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a conflicting one. Return All is about a second-chance romance between our heroine, Mara, and our hero, Derek. They both grew up in this small town and were the high school sweetheart. Then they got separate and ten years later, Derek is this famous football player while Mara is this rich girl and no one knew how she got rich. Here is what I liked and what put me off:

Liked:
-the chemistry between Mara and Derek!
-the daddy kink

Disliked:
-I didn't vibe with the author's writing (a lot of "!" at the end of the sentences, and I know the author is Aussie but some choice of words just made me cringe, i.e. "missus", "bloke", "footy", etc. I don't know it just sounded weird and childish for me and I know some Aussie and they absolutely don't speak like that).
-the constant brand names threw in (I get it... she is rich but you don't need to say every single brand that exist in the world for every single piece of clothing... it was just overdone)
-all characters were in the late twenties but acted very immature
-the reveal about how she got rich wasn't that impactful... it was like "oh really? that's it?" very anticlimactic.
-Derek didn't grovelling in my opinion. He broke the daddy/little girl's trust and just expect her to come back and never address it.

This book isn’t for me. I got to about 20% but trying to read it was unbearable. The characters are awful, each one more pretentious and unlikeable than the last. I didn’t like anything about it and DNF.

I was given this book by NetGalley for free for my honest review.

I truly enjoyed this book and read it all in one sitting. The two main characters had me wanting to bang my head against the wall multiple times. Mara not wanting to share anything with Derek or even give him a chance outside of a sexual relationship. Derek for the things he recognizes in himself and his thoughts later on in the book. I won’t go into detail as not to spoil it. Overall the author did a good job of providing details on why they acted the way they did. I completely understood even if I felt like I would have handled things differently in their situations.

Overall I give this 4 stars!
