Siobhan is a bubbly Dublin based life coach who regularly hops across to London. Miranda is a tree-surgeon working with her merry band of male colleagues (and Rip the spaniel). Jane volunteers in a Winchester charity shop and is wedded to a routine designed to avoid her having to make decisions. The one thing they all have in common is that they are left waiting on a hotly anticipated date who doesn't show.

Deftly weaving between the plots concerning the 3 characters, Beth O'Leary does a fantastic job of keeping the tale zipping along. As the pieces start to fall together, the story is an absolute delight. With no exception, the characters are fantastic and will keep you guessing. I both loved and will be recommending this book. It's right up there with The Switch - which has been my favourite Beth O'Leary to date.

This is an interesting concept that has you loving and hating each character at any given moment, especially 'boyfriend' Joseph Carter. But I really enjoyed the way this was written and laid out, and I didn't guess how it would end at all. It is ultimately a portrayal of love, friendship, grief and how these things intertwine, put together in a very clever way.

I am so grateful to have been given an advanced reading copy of this book. Beth O’Leary is one of my absolut favourite authors!

This book was a little disappointing in my opinion. I didn’t get into it until half way through and that first half was a lot of me forcing myself to read it purely because I love the author and was hoping it would pull through. Having three different characters and timelines to follow was a lot. And while it was articulated well at first, once the time twist came along it was so hard to keep track of what year I was in and definitely could’ve been done better. There were a couple of tropes throughout that weren’t for me but other than the confusion the rest of the book was good. It was interesting to see how three women were all connected and as the story unfolds it really is magical, just slightly confusing too

It’s Valentine’s Day and three women have been stood up by the same man.

Siobhan has a breakfast date with Joseph, Miranda has a lunch date with Carter, and Jane has convinced her friend Joseph Carter to be her fake boyfriend at an engagement party.

But Joseph Carter has not shown up to any of these dates. What could possibly have happened to him?

I have loved every book that Beth O’Leary has written and this one might just be my favourite.

This was a really compelling read and very different than I initially expected. I don’t want to give spoilers, but I’ll say the story is so much more interesting and satisfying than first impressions.

The plot centres around three ‘no-shows’ as the title suggests, 3 women who are stood up on Valentines Day. Though there is plenty of romance it’s actually much more about friendship, in both obvious and surprising forms. The perfect book to read on a wet day outside - I loved it.

I did find the ending tied things up a little too neatly, particularly with minor characters, but this didn’t affect my enjoyment of the novel too much.

This is a lovely story. Three women all dating the same man, but don't make any presumptions because all is not as it seems. A story of redemption and love.

I enjoy Beth’s writing, and this is no exception. It was nice and easy to read, however I did find that I’m hoping and multi POV a little confusing at times. The story was clever and the characters were so bold and vivid, they felt real like I could text them. I definitely had a favourite character… However all of them were so well created.

I was a little taken back by the fact there were no content warnings at the beginning of the book. There is mention of mental health, self inflicted pain, and also miscarriage during the first trimester. As someone who is pregnant however I’m my third trimester, this would have been really good to know. If I read this and was in my first trimester there is no doubt that I would have been affected by what I read. I feel content warnings need to be added for all the above to the final copies being sold.

I read everything Beth O’Leary has released, and I will continue to read everything she releases. This is a book for everyone to enjoy.

I was delighted to be offered the chance to read an advance copy of Beth O'Leary's latest book, having loved all 3 of her previous books.

The story centres around three women; Siobhan, Miranda and Jane, and their relationship with what we soon come to realise is the same man. As always, O'Leary deftly weaves the stories together, giving us just enough information to ensure we draw exactly the conclusions she wants us to and drawing us in deeper to the story. Her characters are written with warmth and depth, making sure we root for them and feel invested in their worlds.

I'm struggling to say more without giving away the ending, but suffice to say, for me, it's yet another triumph for Beth O'Leary and another book I struggled to put down.

Beth O’Leary has written in my opinion her best book since the Flatshare. I am a fan of her writing, I loved the switch but I was a bit lost on the road trip. However The No Show was a complete surprise. And I devoured every page.

I enjoyed the three stories of Miranda, Siobhan and Jane. And one man, Joseph Carter. I was mesmerised how each girl had a different view of the same man, and how much he meant to each girl.

The outline of the book suggests a romantic story with dare I say a predictable ending but fans of romantic fiction would love this anyway. I know I would.

But what we have here is a very deep, interesting and surprising outcome. It’s a reflection of modern dating and how when you think your life is heading in one direction something so small or significant can change your perception in a heartbeat.

This is a must read for Beth O’Leary fans, romance readers and bookworms in general. If readers enjoyed The Cows & So Lucky by Dawn O’Porter then The No Show will be just want you didn’t know you needed in your life this April!

This book was so good. Beth O'Leary is an incredible author and her fourth book did not disappoint.

The characters were unique and different enough that I did not get confused with the changing perspectives. I honestly thought that I knew how this book would play out, I thought that they were all being dated at the same time, yet I still loved Joseph and I couldn't figure out how he could play them all like that. The twist was wonderful and heartbreaking. The right character died (even though I didn't want her too) - it hurt the most.

I will be recommending this to my customers at the bookshop as a great romance read with deeper issues twisting throughout. I can't fault this book and look forward to talking about it with my customers.

Beth O'Leary does it again! Every time I start one of this author's books I always think that I won't enjoy quite as much as the last one, and yet I always do. I don't want to give anything away as I feel this is a book best approached with no knowledge but I will say that it is a bittersweet romance, with fabulous, interesting and believable characters and a story that will keep reading until your eyes hurt! Such a clever book that brings something fresh and original to the genre and one which I think a lot of people will love.

The No Show is our first #TsundukoSquad read of the year and it’s a good one. Our discussions were all about Joseph and him as a central character in the three women’s lives and he definitely caused some discussion! I’ve loved Beth O’Learys previous stories and this is just as good - a slow build up to that great reveal keeps you gripped through every page, fully invested in every character. A def page turner and one is recommend.

This book has me feeling everything! Such a spectrum of emotions to go through in just one book.

Beth O’Leary has cemented herself as a must read for me, no doubt about it.

I loved this book! Genuinely! It was so unconventional, quirky and original (seriously - a tree surgeon?!) It had me grimacing, laughing, yelling and sympathising in equal measure. I may even have shed a tear (are men allowed to do that?) It’s romantic fiction with a twist of genius that is a million miles away from an often clichéd genre; way deeper and far more intuitive than your average rom-com. A definite recommendation for my book club and the Upper Sixth!

My first Beth O'Leary and I can see why everyone loves her books.

It's hard to talk about this one without spoilers so I'll say it was intriguing & I enjoyed the different characters, even when I was questioning their actions I still felt like I liked them & wanted them to be happy. I loved the cherry picker scene & the ending. I got a bit watery eyed at one point too.

This is a fast paced story which begins with three different women being stood up by the same man on Valentine's Day. At first this causes a little bit of confusion as to what he is doing with three women at the same time but it is gradually cleared up to create a unique, funny and romantic story about love and grief. At first I didn't like Joseph due to what was assumed his infidelity but his character development improved throughout the book and I also liked each woman; Siobhan, Miranda and Jane as they all had a distinctive voice and personality. A fun, quick read with a twist!

I enjoyed this book more as it progressed. Initially I found it tricky to keep the details of the three separate women. Joseph initially seemed to be a very unlikeable character. I loved the way the plot came together to reveal Joseph’s heartbreak and road to recovery. I preferred Beth O’Leary’s previous two books but appreciated this different approach to a novel and the way it kept me guessing.

I really enjoyed this book - I have read each novel written by Beth O’Leary but I suspect this will become my favourite.

This is a very clever rom-com which delighted me - it is original, creative, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once.

The characters are well drawn and felt real - I enjoyed getting to know them all and learning their back stories.

The book starts off on a light note but does get darker and more intense as it progresses.

One I will be recommending.

Wow! I always adored Beth’s writing and this is certainly no exception. Joseph Carter is the main man here and be prepared to simultaneously adore and despise him when he stands up 3 different dates on Valentines! Usually with 3 ‘love rivals’ you always root for your favourite but all 3 are just diamonds.. so we don’t blame Joseph too much for wanting them all! Siobhan is a feisty, gorgeous life coach, Miranda the tree surgeon with a cracking sense of humor and Jane the sweet charity shop worker. This book drew me in because everyone has an air of mystery and you just know something isn’t quite right with them all but.. you’ve no idea what!!

This beautiful book took me on an emotional rollercoaster and tissues are certainly required.

Huge thanks to the publicists for granting my wish! I loved The Road Trip and The Flatshare, but I found this one too long and unwieldy with some disturbing content towards the end. I think I am in the minority here, as Goodreads loves it and there seems to be no negative feedback there. I struggled to relate to the main female characters, with the exception of Miranda Rosso, the sassy tree surgeon, who I could have read a whole book about. Beth O'Leary has been great at exploring difficult things in her earlier books but I would have appreciated a lighter touch and a slightly shorter book.
