The Last Karankawas was a wonderful, delightful story!
I really enjoyed this book. Both characters were compelling, I loved reading about their backstories and how they ended up where they did.
After spending only a few days with these characters, I feel like I know them.
The writing is phenomenal. It's definitely more character than plot driven.
It was raw and broken and poignant and utterly perfect.

Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I will post my review closer to pub date.
The Last Karankawas is a good book that talks about the experience of the South of the United States focusing on characters and stories about people of color who took a long time to conquer their home and a place that they felt minimally safe, something that rarely happens in the world of stories outside of the United States. idealism of white people in a high-profile country. I loved the cultural diversity although the real content within this fiction is far from what I experience properly but similar in some ways being a country person and latina. 3,5
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an eArc
This book blew me away! Highly recommend! Love this author's writing style and the characters stay with you long after you finish the book. Can't wait to read more by this author!
This is a beautiful story - one that will definitely be a front runner for Goodreads Book of the Year .... it just has that special quality to it.
For me - this was a book way outside my comfort zone. I prefer a psychological thriller or romcom and this was neither of those two. This has incredible depth, a touch of historical fiction and gives a spotlight to certain parts of American History that I had previously never heard of.
While I did like this book, I think I was the wrong target audience. This was good, but I just know that the right reader will appreciate it more than I did and think it is great!
