Loved it. A charming, engaging and entertaining romance. This includes falling in love with a small town besides falling for the resident hunk. Delightful variety of characters. Sweet story. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. I really enjoyed this author's style of writing and look forward to reading her other books.

Lillian Mahoney is an entrepreneur. She has been building her business for years. She is on the brink of burning out, so her sister Erin kicks her out. She has now gone to the cabin Erin purchased in Blink, ME. A cute a charming town that is on the verge of becoming a ghost town. All she can see are the possibilities. She can breathe a little easier and she is making friends. Caleb Wright has done nothing but dream of building boats. He also in times of need will do woodworking projects around town. He sees Lillian as a money grubber but every time he turns around, she is doing something good for the community. What's a guy to do? Fall in love. Like every good relationship, a little compromise goes a long way.

Lillian is the brains behind the Living Sharpe LLC where she is essentially the babysitter of Niles Sharpe and making sure his public image stays intact. When things go awry one day on a national morning show with Niles, Lillian is encouraged by her sister to take some much needed time off at her sister’s coastal vacation home in Maine. The aesthetic matches that of the virgin river series in my opinion. Very warm type of read and that small town feel. The love interest in this story is definitely a grump. He believes Lillian has bad intentions when coming to the town but he eventually learns to see the type of caring person she really is.
Overall, this book was okay. I found myself struggling to get through it because it was so boring. Nothing really happens between the main two love interests. And there’s also not a lot of background plot to keep you interested either. Not sure I’ll pick up more from this author because it’s just not my type of read.

I would give it 4.5 stars but rounded up. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It was a quick, fun read and I fell in love with the people in Blink, Maine. I'm a sucker for big city going to small town living (hello Hallmark) so I might be a tad biased. But, with so many stories/movies done with that theme I can still stay Accidentally Perfect is one of the better ones.

Lillian and Caleb had chemistry from the start but with a definite expiration date looming starting a relationship seems to be setting up each other for heartbreak. Accidentally Perfect took us through falling in love with each other, with the town and even changing your lifestyle when you're ready to move on from that chapter of your life. Both Lillian and Caleb are such good hearted people that you can't help but root for them to find their happy ever after - especially when it's mostly a battle of responsibilities vs love. "It was like New York and Blink were playing tug-of-war with her heart and were about to rip it in two."

I'm hoping this book is the start of a series as we're introduced to many characters - maybe a novella for Nile but I'm sensing a sequel for Tristan and so on.

I’ve been at a loss lately for reviewing books because I’m not exactly sure what to say. This book had all the right things going for it but it was very underwhelming. I didn’t really get invested at all. While the plot had great potential there were too many holes in the story. Too many random side-stories and not enough development. I was very bored and almost didn’t finish it. Maybe I read it at a bad time but this is not a book for me.

Thank you Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC.

🏘🏡🛥Whimsical, small town romance: yes from me👍

4.5🌟 stars
I am pretty much a pushover when it comes to small town settings with colorful, quirky characters and an enemies to lovers romance. This story hit both marks and seals the deal with its good pace and excellent writing. Plus, female lead Lillian's problem-rife arrival on the scene in tiny Blink, Maine was a really good way to start her small-town adventure. She's a capable and kind person and very relatable.

I also really appreciated Lillian's repeated frustration when everyone assumes she is either a grifter or an employee working for lifestyle star Niles, who she groomed for stardom and employs. It's all too believable, unfortunately, that he's assumed to be the boss and creator of her company's success.

The secondary characters are great. Caleb, Lillian's local romantic interest, is a bit of a creative, rugged man's man who has a teenage daughter "he doesn't understand" who made him more appealing to me. I love a story with a single dad who's a bit over his head with the parenting and soured on romance thanks to his previous partner. Caleb quickly joins the ranks of Lillian's fans despite his initial suspicions. The romance is sweet as blueberry pie, closed door and lovely, enhanced by Lillian's heartfelt growing attachment to the dying town's residents.

With a happy ending that spreads way past the main couple, this book was a positive, warm escape. Definitely recommended.

Thanks to Amara/Entangled Publishing for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This book had many things I love, but it had a small town and the grumpy sunshine trope which are two of my favorites. Accidentally Perfect was a whirlwind of a delight and I loved the small town makeover but stay the same vibes. It was warm and welcoming and I really loved how each character had an important role. Lillian and Caleb's character developments were great as well and I liked the events that led to their relationship. The friendships were also fun and enjoyable and this book is quite charming. Overall, it was a super cute read.

I really enjoyed this book by Marissa Clarke. I love small town, slow burn romances. They are favorites tropes of mine. I've recently found this author. She writes well with great storylines and wonderful characters. Caleb, Lillian and his daughter are so easy to love. I had too many interruptions while reading this book and plan to reread when I can take a day to enjoy it in one sitting!

Thank you Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. This is my voluntary and honest review.

This book was really good. I didn't know the author, but I will look for more books by her. The main character, Lillian was stressed out by Niles who was the face of her business. In reality, she did all the work. It had grown by leaps and bounds. When Niles made a huge mistake and blamed her, she went to this tiny town called Blink to regroup. Her sister had bought a cottage there but hadn't ever been. She found the town very sweet but dying as the curmugeon Roger bought all the property when people moved on and wouldn't sell. He had his reasons, but it took awhile to get to them. I loved it when her show came to town and literally everyone loved the lttle town and little by little, things started to change. Lillian's relationship with Caleb was also so sweet. They were very different but good for each other.
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Accidentally Perfect by Marissa Clarke
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A love a good romance with a HEA. This was the first book I’ve read by Clarke, but won’t be my last. The story takes place mostly in a tiny coastal town in Maine that is slowly dying. I loved the setting and it makes me want to visit Maine.

The main character, Lily, is a workaholic from NYC who goes to Maine to relax and recenter after a disaster at work. In Maine, Lily meets Caleb who loves his small town and helps anyone that needs it. Did I mention he is a single dad?

Obviously, the two fall in love, but Lily can’t leave her job…you’ve seen Hallmark movies so you get it.

I liked that this was a quick fun read. A good book to read after an emotionally draining book for sure. There’s really no spice so it’s also a clean romance book if you prefer that.

Thank you Entangled Publishing, NetGalley and Marissa Clarke for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book publishes February 22, 2022!

So often, we hear of people wanting to start over or maybe we find ourselves wishing we could start over, and Accidentally Perfect gives a realistic view of what that might be like.

Forced to take a vacation or leave of absence, wealthy lifestyle guru (founder and head of large well-known company) Lillian is heading off to her sister's unseen vacation cottage in the little town (or maybe hamlet) of Blink, Maine. Having lived her life in New York or wealthy regions surrounding it, Lillian is completely unprepared for a small town where everyone knows everyone else and their business, Slowly she learns to breathe and discovers a nicer, more relaxed person is hiding inside her. Of course, the large company cannot survive without her and she is asked to give up all she has discovered and become in order to return to NYC and the "real world."

The reason I say this is realistic is simply because this is a case of a wealthy person who changes her living situation, and she can actually afford to do so. She is able to order new furniture and food with the swipe of her phone. She can afford to still live comfortably even if at a slower pace. So often, stories of someone starting over are of someone who suddenly buys the farmhouse unseen then moves there after a struggle to divorce and the reader is told there is little money. Yet, somehow, this person manages to completely redo a house and live a rather comfortable life. At least, in Accidentally Perfect, the story line is spot on---the main character has that NY uptightness which is seen immediately by the residents of the small town, making her rather suspicious. But, she also comes with money which affords her the ability to make herself comfortable in a new situation.

I did enjoy this book and could see it actually happening. It featured the catastrophic results of what social media can do and how viewers of TV shows can be fooled into believing anything the producers want them to believe.

I did receive this book from #NetGalley. #AccidentallyPerfect #MarissaClarke

I found this book to be a lot more charming than I was expecting. Yes, I read the blurb and I definitely caught the fish out of water and the fairy tale disaster and setting of the book. So I was expecting that...but I don't think I was expecting this one to feel as light and fun as it did.

Don't get me wrong, Lillian and Caleb aren't perfect at the beginning, in fact he is more than a little suspicious of her. But they work that out and they both find the things about one another that they really like,. and admire.

I thought the ending was a little too easily tied up and I also thought that it went farther than it needed to. With cars, and planes, and the internet (especially the internet over the last couple of years) we have all managed to do our jobs from places we never thought we could...so the way the ending came together so quickly, and the fact that it wasn't necessary, did leave me a little frustrated at the end. But, not enough to say I didn't enjoy the story overall.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

I was sucked into the town of Blink and its residents. The fact that this is tagged as Hideaway Harbor #1 (it makes sense at the end of the book, I promise.) gives me great, IMPATIENT hope for a continuing series.

|Lillian Mahoney has built her lifestyle tv show and empire from the ground up. She has completely made it her life. Unfortunately, a gigantic portion of its success is due to its host, Niles Sharpe. Niles is basically the Milli Vanilli of show hots and it's a nightmare to make him keep up with his duties. One day on a live show, everything goes to crap, he unfairly blames her for the screw up on camera and we all know that there are phones recording everything everywhere these days. To cool things down, Lillian's sister sends her packing to a forced vacation in a cottage she had bought sight-unseen as an investment in the teeny tiny town of Blink, Maine.

Her journey and arrival there are just short of a complete catastrophe: her wallet is stolen, her car runs out of gas as soon as she arrives and she's wearing her NYC-business-woman attire, complete with impossibly high heels. To top it all up, she managed to (and she can't figure out how) piss off the town's resident hunk, Caleb Wright, single father of 16-year-old Bethany. But first impressions are frequently wrong and neither Caleb nor the town are what Lillian was expecting. Blink , Maine - population 204 just might have to update the sign to 205.

This is a small town, feel-good romance indeed. The dying little town and its quirky and lovable residents just beg you to fall in love with Blink and everyone in it.

Everything that happens is a little "Hallmark-y" but those movies are hugely successful for a reason. You really want Caleb and Lillian to find a way to each other.

With the rejuvenation of the town, I really hope we get to see what happens to the other residents in future books.

Side note: If you are looking for sweet, you found it. If you are looking for steam, this is as closed door as it gets. Shut tight and boarded up. ;) It was still fun though!

Accidently Perfect is a wonderful read. I enjoyed this one so much. Lillian is lovely and never realized she needed a break and step back from her job. Caleb is a single father in a small dying town. He is a talented builder who is a little grumpy. You feel Lillian slowly falling in love with this small the more time she spends there and gets to know the town people. There is such a wonderful pull between Caleb and Lillian. You get why Caleb doesn't want to leave his town. You get why Lillian falls for it so. I love how everything comes together. This is such a sweet and heartwarming small town read that will make you fall in love with Caleb and Lillian hard. I could not get enough of this. Talk about opposites! Lillian's life implodes so she takes her Ferragamo pumps and heads for the small town of Blink, Maine, where her sister owns a cabin, She meets Caleb- they meet cute too- and immediately annoys him. But of course, we all know those sparks are flying, Lillian has a lot to learn about life in Maine and in a community - there are some terrific characters- but mostly about herself. And Caleb needs to open his heart as well. It's not a spoiler than there will be a happy ending. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This would make a good Lifetime/Hallmark movie.

I absolutely adored Accidentally Perfect, alot more than I was expecting to, to be honest. Lillian needs to lie low for some time, thanks to a fit thrown by her shows host on live tv. Her sister owns a cottage in Blink, Maine and that seems like the best place to go to. She meets everyone at the diner including Caleb, a hot and grumpy guy who seems to get grumpier around her.
Accidentally Perfect is a wonderful read. I loved the small town feel and the sense of togetherness in the community, how they had each others backs. The romance built up was slow between Lillian and Caleb but no less potent.
I loved this book and I hope we get a chance to visit Blink again.

Hideaway Harbor Book One

WoW! I couldn't have loved this book more if I tried!

I love how sometimes a book that you don't expect to like sneaks up on you and sucks you in. Accidentally Perfect was like that for me.

The character development and chemistry between Lillian and Caleb is just phenomenal. It isn't love at first site and I liked that.
With well-rounded, relatable characters and fun people to follow along with in their journey. With characters you root for that has great emotions, this was just an amazing story.
I loved the small town of Blink, so realistic and refreshing.
Marissa Clarke has a way that draws her readers into the story and won't let them go until the gorgeous conclusion!

I can't await for book two!

Entangled: Amara,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Can't thank you enough!
I will post my review closer to pub date.

After a work blow up, Lillian was sent to Blink, Maine until things calm down. Although Blink is small and not what she expected Lillian keeps herself busy. This was a fun, heartwarming read. I loved Lillian and the colorful characters of Blink.
