Former Navy SEAL Maxwell Peters is by the book. Rules are his bread and butter. Violet Schroeder is a coworker and the daughter of an infamous jewel thief-falling for her is 100% against the rules.
Violet has been after her father for years. When a mission with Maxwell comes to her attention she sense the perfect opportunity to her father from a betrayal years before.
When Violet volunteers for the mission Maxwell resists. How can he trust her when there is no one who knows jewels and how to steal them better than her?
Now the two must board a luxury cruise and pretend to be husband and wife. As the two get closer to the target they both must figure out how to navigate the pretend kisses that are becoming all too real. With a threat looming could the two figure out their issues.
I love a good military romance. There is nothing like a wild FMC that loosens up the stodgy MMC. This book gives all of that and more. If you love a dual pov, enemies to lovers, and bad girl vs good guy this book is for you.
Maxwell is a character that comes off as extremely uptight no nonsense stick in the mud. He is also very judgmental which was kind of annoying but as the story progresses he gets looser. He is the epitome of a military man.
Violet is certainly laid back and more go with the flow. There were times I wanted her to fight back against Maxwells judgements. Violet is a caring character and it comes across that she has truly reformed.
The two could not be more opposite and that does come across. With that it works so well for the characters between the wonderful writing and story the personalities mesh to great chemistry. For a small book this is a slow burn.
As for the story I love the anticipation of Violet’s dads new partner, and how they were going to attempt the jewel heist. I would be remiss to mention the secondary characters they were GREAT! I love that even when the “mission” ends we still see these characters.
I liked this book and I have even downloaded the next book in the series!

Maxwell Peter’s a former Seal and one of the owners of the security company which has been hired to go abroad on a cruise ship to catch a jewel thief. His other two partner wants him to work with Violet Schroder a former jewel thief who thinks her father will try and steal the jewel. She is after her father because he left her to take the fall after one of the heists and she has had a thing for him ever since. Maxwell wants to work alone and especially not with Violet who he still looks at as a thief and does not follow along with any plan. She on the other hand enjoys ribbing Maxwell because he is so much of a rule follower and you cannot color outside of the lines. This makes for a very good book and is so all the way to the very last page.

Max and Olive not only get to go on a luxurious cruise together working undercover but they pretend to be husband and wife. They end up crossing that line which makes it all the better to read. The best is who is the bad guy and where is the other one hiding out. The friendships they make on the cruise is also nice. A great first book to a new series.

This is a great book. The two main characters are Violet and Maxwell. They both work at a security company owned by Maxwell and two other partners. Violet and Maxwell go undercover on a cruise ship, due to the displays of very expensive jewelry. They are trying to not let Violet’s father nicknamed the ghost steal any of the jewelry. They become very good friends with one of the passengers, who happens to own one of the expensive jewelry on the the cruise ship. They finally catch Violet’s father and return the jewelry that he stole. They declare their love.

SEAL's Beautiful Thief was a marvelous start to a series. I absolutely adored the chemistry between Violet and Maxwell, they were absolutely adorable. I loved the character development as the story progressed and the friendships that they developed along the way. The passion, the intrigue, and the closure ***chef's kiss***

I devoured this engaging book about a SEAL-turned-security-company co-owner and a former thief-turned-security-company consultant. So why only four stars? I felt that parts of the story were missing.

Violet was raised by a master-thief father who threw her to the wolves to save his own skin. She paid the price by serving a three-year sentence, all of which happened before the start of this book. By the time the book does begin, she has already met the Sentinel Security team and gotten herself a consultant gig. It's unclear exactly how that happened; in fact, the story reads as if it is not the first book in the series and that Violet and Maxwell were secondary characters in a previous book. They weren't, at least not as far as I know. Anyway, it's clear that slightly stick-up-the-butt Maxwell disapproves of the sharp-witted ex-con, but it's equally clear that the two strike sparks off each other. When a job takes Maxwell on a luxury cruise to protect an extravagantly expensive ruby necklace, Violet insists on coming along; she knows that her father will be coming for the gem.

The two go undercover, posing as a young married couple. Their job is merely to keep the ruby from being stolen, Maxwell keeps pointing out to Violet, who is just as interested in putting her father away for good. As they act the part of near newlyweds, their attraction to one another builds, but when it finally does boil over, it happens rather unexpectedly. I'd hoped for even a bit more tension, especially on Maxwell's part. I feel like he needed to get further past his distrust before he could succumb to passion.

Professionally, the two begin to disagree over their course of action, which of course leads to a certain degree of danger. However, that danger is resolved pretty quickly, which is disappointing. Violet and Maxwell get their HEA, but I wanted them to go through a little more together, and I wanted more of a declaration between them.

All that said, the story is well written and run to read, and I really appreciate the opportunity to read it!

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks

This is the first in the Sentinel Security Books and a great start to the series. This is the story of Max, a former Navy SEAL and Valerie, an ex-thief who is currently working on contract with Sentinel Security which Max owns with his other two partners. Max and Valerie are complete opposites. He being a strict, by the books kind of guy, while she likes to bend the rules more often than not. They both go on an assignment together undercover as husband and wife. He doesn't really trust Valerie because of her criminal background, but she is reformed and determined to prove it. As they work together, the sparks fly and the attraction grows. As their investigation progresses, so does the danger. This story definitely kept me intrigued and turning the pages to find out what happens next. A very well-written story that was entertaining and kept my interest till the end.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Her father is a wanted jewel thief. She wants to capture him. They are on a luxury cruise to protect the jewel. They are hot for each other. The story was very exciting and well written.

I like this author so i jumped at the change to get this book. Maxwell and Violet are working together to protect a jewell. Violet being a forerunner jewelry thief has other ideas and motives as to why she’s helping. I enjoyed this book a lot. There isn’t many of her books that I’ve disliked.

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book

Maxwell Peters is by the book, and follows each and every rule, and for him having to work with Violet Schroeder is problematic. Ex con and now investigator Violet knows how to work exactly how to work in the shadows, she now uses her skills for good. After her father's cruel betrayal, Violet finally has the chance to be the one to catch him by pairing up undercover with Maxwell on a security gig on a cruise ship. As the job becomes more difficult and dangerous their relationship begins to change.

This was a great read, and I struggled to put it down. Each of the characters were enjoyable to read about, they didn't have a massively overcomplicated back story and nor were they flat. I enjoyed reading about the changes in their relationships and how they progressed through the book.

I received an advanced copy of the SEAL's Beautiful Thief from netgalley for review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first in a series, but reads well as a stand alone. This is an enemy to lovers type book. I loved Violet but boy does Max have an attitude. LOL Ramona was a sweetie. This for me, was not realistic but oh so much fun. I absolutely hate cruises but I liked the book anyway. 4 stars

It was high time for another of my Leslie North’ fixes. Due to my high to read pile I hadn’t read the last few series of her. But the title of this one caught my eye, so I dove right in.

This was a refreshing story where the main character, Violet used to be a thief. Trained and conditioned by her father, since a child, she became very good at her profession. But after her father let her take the fall in a heist gone wrong, she has made amends. Probably one and a half year in prison will do that to you. She is currently employed by a security firm, where her latest assignment is on a cruise ship to guard a very special gemstone. And since her father always bragged about stealing that gem, she is convinced her father will try to steal it on the cruise. One tiny problem: Violet has to pose as a happily married couple with her colleague stick-in-his-arse-Maxwell. That will be a challenge. Straight laced ex-SEAL Maxwell doesn’t trust Violet. Although she was worked successfully on several cases for Maxwell’s firm, he is still not convinced: one a thief, always a thief. Too bad that Violet is the only one who can identify ‘the Ghost’ But while working undercover, Maxwell and Violet have a lot of sparks flying.

And Maxwell even begins to like the feisty Violet. But then there start to be some attacks on Violet. Now things start to become personal. could it be that Violet’s father is behind this? Or are there other suspects? As usual for Leslie: there is more than meets the eye. Fun, suspense and a lot of romance. What’s not to love? Thank you Netgalley for providing the arc. Four out of five stars from me and I’ll be awaiting the next one in this series.

4.5/5 stars!

After her thief father betrayed her, the heroine sought vengeance when she learns about an upcoming mission in protecting a coveted necklace at a cruise. The hero doesn't want the heroine to be in the mission, but as his partners overruled his misgivings, he partners with the heroine as married couple in the cruise. Said mission brings the two closer amidst danger at the cruise.

I really enjoyed reading this first book in this Sentinel Security trilogy. I liked the couple together and as individuals. I also liked the friends they met during the cruise and the glimpses of the heroes for the rest of the trilogy. Not too much drama and angst but enough to keep it interesting. Would have liked more details in some parts of the story but it's a personal preference of mine. Overall an enjoyable Leslie North book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series in the future.

**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and thoughts in the review are my own.**

I absolutely loved reading, Seal's Beautiful Thief. It is during a luxurious cruise that Maxwell and Violet are on protection duty and find love along the way. I have enjoyed the cruises that I've gone on so much. This was a wonderful taste of what their time was like. I appreciated it so much.

Seal's beautiful thief by Leslie North.
Sentinel Security Book One.
If it’s not by the book, former Navy SEAL Maxwell Peters isn’t interested. He’s a rule-following kind of guy. Falling for investigator Violet Schroeder—the daughter of an infamous jewel thief—is definitely against his rules.
A brilliant read. I loved how Maxwell and Violet were together. I loved the ending and I can't wait for next book. I love Leslie's books. 5*.
