A Fatal Family feast is a cozy mystery. It is easy to recommend to readers. I enjoyed this book very much.

I really loved this book in a new to my series and author. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters and location really add to the plot. This book keeps you guessing until the end.

Lynn Cahoon never disappoints when it comes to an intriguing mystery. A wedding, a crazy murderer, and so much more. I love the characters, they are becoming some of my favorites. Of course, Angie and Felicia are both great at finding clues, with a lot of help from their friends. This book was full of surprises and adventure, sprinkled with some romance. I hope there will be another book in this series so we can see what type of mystery Angie and her friends find themselves involved in.

It's time for Felicia and Estebe's wedding. While that should be a happy occasion, it's anything but that. Felicia's family and former fiancée come to town, and it quickly escalates into an unpleasant affair. This book was well crafted, and the characters are well developed. I loved the storyline and the mystery.

Lynn Cahoon has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The Farm to Fork series is one of my absolute favorites and I look forward to each new book. A Fatal Family Feast did not disappoint! It had a good storyline, characters you can't help but love and a good mystery woven throughout.

Although I love this series, this one was not one of my favorites. It took a bit longer for this one to capture my full interest. I love the characters and their relationships but I found that I really didn't care for Felicia's family.

It was written well and the mystery was a page-turner.

This is my least favorite book in the series. I found the pace of the story much too slow and the solution to the murder much too obvious. Things were wrapped up at the end, and I hope for a bit more normal in the next installment.

Family can be challenging to say the least especially when it involves life changing events. Felicia hasn’t looked to her parents, especially her father, for permission much less their blessing with regards to her life choices for a number of years. So, Just because her betrothed, Estebe , is the old fashioned sort and requested his Mr. Williams’ blessing it doesn’t mean that he won’t meet Felicia at the altar on the blessed day. Emotions run high, and not even the ex-boyfriend aka Mr. Williams’ pick for Felicia is going to stand in the way. A dead body, the ex’s dead body, well that might be another story as Estebe is on the top of the suspect list. Angie and crew (of the County Seat restaurant) are ready and willing to chase the clues and red herrings while keeping the wedding plans on track. There are so many suspects and so many mentions of great foods. Of course, when the main character, Angie, runs a farm-to-fork restaurant how could there not be. Thank you to author Lynn Cahoon for including a recipe for Workday Quick and Easy Risotto; it was not only quick and easy but also quite tasty.

This delightful mystery is the start of a new chapter in the lives of Felicia, co-owner of the County Seat, and Estebe, the sous chef and a property investor. The County Seat is a Farm-to-Fork restaurant in southwest Idaho. Angie, the other owner of County Seat and the chef, loves being part of the family they created with their exemplary staff. I really enjoy the eclectic characters, how they each contribute to the business, Angie’s pets, a Saint Bernard and personality plus goat, and the one-of-a-kind mystery.

Estebe and Felicia are getting married, and tension runs high when Felicia’s family and Jason, her ex-fiancé arrive. The Williams family made their displeasure in her choices of the past few years clear. She left the east coast years ago to attend college in Boise, then chose to live in Idaho and run a restaurant with her best friend instead of returning to her parents and learning her father’s business. She is marrying a chef instead of Jason, the man her father chose for her many years ago. Her father refuses to walk her down the aisle and may not attend the wedding, which will take place at The County Seat.

Jason invited Felicia to have coffee with him. Angie went with her and listened as Jason urged Felicia to return to Boston. Estebe’s cousin Javier ran into them and heard Jason trying to get her to leave. He has words with Jason, and he and the girls leave. When they got back to County Seat, Estebe was preparing lunch for them and her surprise guests. Her parents did come to town, but the luncheon isn’t as pleasant as Estebe hoped. He is hurt and unhappy; he has never met anyone quite like Royce and MaryEllen, who are close to having a relationship with him. They are planning to stay through the week and be there for the wedding.

Later that evening, Jason was found murdered in an alley. Days before the wedding, the assigned police detective had attended school with Estebe and still held a resentment against him. Despite Estebe’s verifiable alibis, the detective chose Estebe as the only suspect in Jason’s murder.

Felicia’s half-brother, Carter, came to town. Carter has been working for their father for several years. Carter and her mom tried to talk Felicia into returning to Boston. Especially with Jason gone, her parents need her. Again, she refused to leave her fiancé, her home, her business. The day of her shower, they stopped by to give her and Estebe a gift, as they decided to leave early to reorganize the family business.

As Felicia’s best friend who has helped solve several murders, Angie must find the bad guy fast, so that nothing will keep Felicia and Estebe from getting married. To find who killed someone who lived all their life across the country is difficult. For her best friend’s happiness, Angie will do everything possible, even as she struggles to stay out of the vengeful path of a temporary chef she had to let go.

The author is excellent at creating and defining three-dimensional characters that as a reader, I became engaged with the first book I read from this series. One doesn’t have to be a foodie to appreciate the men and women who work at County Seat. The characters, while passionate about cooking or providing fresh produce to the public, have rich, full lives.

I was fascinated with the searching process and information Angie found about Jason and some of the people in his past. Some of the tie-ins she found were things the local police weren’t even considering. The tale kept me guessing throughout, even as I strongly considered a couple people that Angie was looking at. Plot twists brought surprises and changes, but it still appeared that, even if Estebe and Felicia were able to marry, they might have to postpone their honeymoon. The ending was very satisfactory, with no outstanding loose ends. I highly recommend this cozy mystery and others in the series!

I was actually surprised at the ending of this book very well written.

Angie Turner’s business partner, Felicia, is getting married but some of the plans are going awry. Felicia's family is not happy with her choice of bridegroom and send her former fiancé out to try to persuade her to return East and marry him. That won't be possible when the ex-fiancé turns up dead. The police believe that only the bridegroom had a reason to kill, so Angie and her gang have to hustle to find the real killer before the wedding day arrives.

A good story, great characters, and a fun read!

I honestly thought this was a book in one of Ms. Cahoon's other series, so that's on me for not reading the description better. I've only read one other book in this series, and it was only an okay read, so had I been paying attention, I wouldn't have requested this one.

This book was again, okay. I felt like the relative that only got an invite because they felt like they had to, in that I didn't know the characters or any back story, but I also didn't really feel the urge to go back and read the books I'd missed.

I'll read descriptions more carefully next time, instead of just jumping at anything by this author.

This was my first Angie Turner mystery, and I wasn't disappointed. It was an engaging mystery with likeable characters and a well written plot. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers.

A FATAL FAMILY FEAST, the sixth book in the Farm to Fork Mysteries by Lynn Cahoon, is an engaging, yet bittersweet read. Knowing that this delightfully sweet cozy mystery series was coming to an end when I started the book, I wanted to savor every word yet couldn’t help but turn the pages faster and faster to find out what happened next. The entire cast of characters—from protagonist Angie Turner, to her best friend and business partner, Felicia, to her sous chef (and Felicia’s fiancé), Estebe, to the entire staff at their County Seat restaurant—have felt like family. While there might be conflict leading up to a murder in each book, Ms. Cahoon has imbued the core cast of characters with admirable characteristics. With their sense of kindness and honor, it’s been a pleasure observing their interaction with each other and with their community. There are also Angie’s charming pets: her lovable Saint Bernard puppy, Dom, along with a rescue goat, and a barnyard chicken. They add some humor to the story and steal each scene they inhabit.

With the story centered around the upcoming nuptial of Felicia and Esteban, there is plenty to celebrate and plenty to stress over. Felicia is especially distraught when her family tries to break up her engagement right before the big day, by bringing in her ex-fiancé to woo her. And when the ex is found murdered, law enforcement fingers Esteban for the dastardly deed. With strong descriptive writing, the author makes the reader feel the tension that Angie and her friends are experiencing and the terror that Felicia’s happily ever after might not ever take place. Uniting their creative intellects, the friends piece together clues and hunt down long ago secrets that might have had a hand in the death. Expertly weaving the past into the present, the threads of the crime came together in a surprising way and, in the end, left this reader highly satisfied yet quite sad to say goodbye to such great friends.

Preparing for a wedding is hard especially when an ex shows up as a guest and then is found murdered. Angie’s job as Maid of Honor gets a little more complicated with a murder investigation added to her MOH duties.

This is a fast paced cozy mystery with plenty of action and suspects. Well placed misdirections and twists keep you guessing who did it. The characters are relatable and interesting. Definitely worth the read.

I love Lynn Cahoon's books so much. I like her writing and I love her characters. I love how she's able to have each series completely different. I love Angie and Felicia in this book. I loved getting to see their friendship. I had so much fun reading this one and I can't wait to see what's next!

This quick read Cozy has the perfect amount of suspects and plot twists. The characters are relatable and likeable. There is friendship, family and adorable pets. You even get a wedding, so there is romance.
You will not want to put it down.

The Farm-to-Fork Mystery series is one of my favorite cozy mystery series, and the latest addition does not disappoint. Some of my favorite parts came towards the end and would definitely be considered spoilers, so I will just say that there was just the right balance between the mystery part of the plot and the recurring characters part of the plot. It was great to be immersed in the lives of the County Seat staff again.

I have not read the earlier books from this articular series, but I have read Lynn Cahoon’s Kitchen Witch series.

Felicia and Esteban’s wedding seems to take on the role of the current social economic problems, i.e. police corruption and racial profiling. Felicia’s family is prejudiced against Esteban without ever having a legit conversation with him. Then Esteban is accused of murder by a biased cop. I would have liked more back story on this cop and a justified resolution, instead Sheriff Allan (and Angie and Ian) works in the background to rove Esteban’s innocence.

My main issue with the book was Ian. Maybe it’s because I’m new to the series but Ian just seemed very whiny. Every other sentence was about his lack of finances, but he doesn’t want to change his job. There was something just not right with these statements. There was also some condescending moments, not many but a couple, that made me cringe. Most individuals follow the clues. They don’t say “hey let’s ignore this big hint and follow our list instead.” That bothered me a lot.

The mystery was alright. I kinda figured out what was happening about half way through. Once a certain connection was made, it was like “Aha, that’s how it went.”

Overall I rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars. I’m going to start back at the beginning to better understand the characters.

A Fatal Family Feast is the 6th book in Lynn Cahoon’s Farm-to-Fork mystery series and we are once again following Angie and the crew at the County Seat as they plan for Felicia and Estebe's wedding.

The wedding is only a week away and there's a lot to do with having the ceremony at the restaurant and all the employees involved. THings can always get more complicated and the do when Felicia's estranged parents and ex-fiance arrive to try and talk her out of marrying Estebe.
Then Jason ends up dead and the police detective has it out for Estebe. There is a very good chance he'll be in jail for the wedding and it's up to Angie and her crew to find out who the real killer is.

Lot's of great side story in this installment as well. We get more character development for the people we love in this series. That is why even thought this book can stand alone, I'd recommend reading some of the other novels or novellas to really appreciate this book. The mystery is good, although I found it a bit far fetched and slow moving. Still, it was enjoyable and a nice addition to the series.
