This is a cute book that I think kids will find funny. The illustrations are done well and the storyline is easy to follow.
This book was so silly and so much fun. I know there are a few of these books, and I have never wanted to read them before. However, in Ohio, a teacher or principle was fired for reading one of these books aloud to the school during assembly. So I had to read it. This book was so much fun. Is it potty humor, absolutely? But that is what makes it approachable. There is no reason these books should be banned. They should be celebrated for helping kids want to read!
I loved reading My Butt is so silly, it was laugh out loud funny. Definitely a great read for the whole family.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Almost all kids I know loves butt jokes, so I would imagine them loving this book. My 6 years old, her eyes widened when she saw the square butt and said: WHAT out loud. She really liked the book, thought it was funny and silly.
What a fun book for a kid that loves to giggle when they hear the word "butt"! My Butt is so Silly!, by Dawn McMillan and Ross Kinnaird, is a fun, quick read that will prompt many giggles for little kids and the fun adults reading it to them! Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with an ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
My kid and I love this series, and this is another silly and enjoyable entry!
Do they always make sense? No. Does it matter? NO! These are funny and cute books that make kids laugh and that is literally the best sound in the world.
WIN.
My kids adore all these "my butt is..." books. They're funny, quirky, and quick reads. This all started when my youngest was born and had an extra crack, to her butt crack. Come to find out its a familial trait on my husband's side (thankfully skipped him). All is well and grown as it's supposed to know, but these books came to be part of her growing up--being passed back and forth between families as the joke continues about "weird butts".
McMillan writes in a great kid appropriate way that's fun and hilarious!
I think there's only so far you can take a joke. That distance might be a little greater if you're a kid that likes talking about butts.
I read I Broke My Butt! a couple of years ago, and while I didn't love it, I thought it was pretty silly and kids would likely enjoy it. My Butt Is SO SILLY! has the same problem as I Broke My Butt! (namely, the horribly executed metre of the rhyming text), and also introduces a level of absurdity that doesn't even make sense. How did the kid's butt end up square?!
As far as I can tell, this butt has a mind of its own. It never stops moving. At times, it made me uncomfortable, because it almost seemed like the kid had a disorder like dystonia, and making fun of medical conditions isn't funny.
Fans of the other books will probably like this one, too. But, as an adult reader, I wasn't that impressed. I liked I Broke My Butt! a lot more.
Another fun book from McMillian! This series is hilarious and always gets the laughs at story time. This newest one is every bit as good as the others and keeps the same humor and rhythm. These are always on our procurement list as soon as they come out.
My Butt is SO SILLY! is another fun installment in this series. It's laugh out loud funny with silly drawings. I really like the rhyming scheme with words that may be new too young children. If your child likes crude humor, they will love this one!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Dawn McMillan author of "I Need a New Butt", "I Broke My Butt!", and "My Butt is So Noisy!" has another hilarious book to add to the collection. This time it's a butt that seems to have a mind of its own and won't stop moving, changing shape and having a good time.
Kids will laugh out loud as they engage with the antics of this rogue, out-of-control bottom. It keeps on having playful adventures causing mayhem and its host embarrassment.
Readers will find this delightful book full of imagination and hilarity. The illustrations are a hoot and spot on to tickle a kid's sense of humour. What will that butt be up to next? The book is a sure winner with both young and old. Who doesn't need a good laugh? It is perfect for a read-aloud session, for a classroom setting and for a school library, no ifs-ands-or butts about it! I highly recommend "My Butt is SO SILLY!"
