Very insightful, explains in great detail each sign. Very useful for people who are dipping their toes in astrology. I'm giving it 3 stars because I picked it up to know my own birth chart, so I didn't really read the rest of the book.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc.

Astrology has always been a mystery to me. I have friends who are much more knowledgeable about it than I am, and I feel like I'm always struggling to keep up with the discussions when it comes up. I found this to be easy to read and informative, especially for a beginner. (Not sure if it would be very helpful for someone more experienced). Perfect if you're looking to learn more about astrology, probably best to avoid if you aren't a believer.

Never been much of a believer in Astrology and horoscopes, but this book did bring some new perspectives.

This one took me a minute to get through but that was just because there was so much interesting information! I know a fair amount about astrology but this was a great book of charts and graphics that has something new for everyone! I will definitely recommend this to patrons wanting to learn more.

A good overview of the basics of modern astrology. The book takes on a bit of a casual and trendy tone, which comes as no surprise given that there’s an accompanying app, but the information presented is solid and easy to digest for beginners.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

First off I love astrology and I thought this was a great beginner's book. I absolutely loved the illustrations and charts because I'm a visual person. This is not a book to rush through if you truly want to learn.

This is a fun introduction to astrology for the casual observer and "cosmically curious". I enjoyed the layout and found the insight interesting.

Astrology is a topic that has always intrigued me. I read my horoscope from time to time for fun. Do I follow it religiously? No. But I believe that it can help you learn more about yourself and others. So I want to digger deeper and learn more about astrology.

I read “What’s Your Sign?: A Guide to Astrology for the Cosmically Curious” as an ebook. But I believe that certain books are better consumed physically. There is just something in how you can hold it in your hands and flip through them as you please. This is one of those cases.

The concept of “What’s Your Sign?: A Guide to Astrology for the Cosmically Curious” is meant to read any part you want. You do not have to read it cover to cover unless you want to.

You are given the basics of astrology, which is beginner-friendly. The charts are a nice touch. In addition, it is written in a way that is not difficult to understand.

My only gripe with it is that it is one big walking advertisement for the Sanctuary app. Which I mean is understandable, since it is written by those people. I expected that there would be advisements every once in a while. But it was a lot. It seems that it was pushing you to use that app. Which again, I get. But there is a line between sprinkling it in there where people won’t even realize and blatantly obvious. If you can learn everything from the book in the app, what is the point of spending money on the book itself? It would be more worth it if “What’s Your Sign?: A Guide to Astrology for the Cosmically Curious” had something new that’s not in the app and can supplement one another. The upside is, at least everything is all in one place.

This is a good basic beginners guide to astrology. It's ecstatically pleasing, easy to understand and well laid out. As someone who studies astrology, i found it contained very basic information and didn't encompass the true heart and soul of meanings, even on that basic level. It seemed to focus more on filler sentences instead of ones of substance and information. The concept and idea of this was on point, but it missed the boat when it comes to explanations of the signs in particular. There are so many books on the basics, it would be refreshing to see books on the more intermediate or advanced levels.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I feel like interest in astrology has gained a renewed interest in previous years, so something like this book - a digestible guide regarding not only the different signs and their characteristics but all of the components that go into your birth chart. It is obvious because of references within the book that the author's have an app and suggest trying it out, but not to a point where it felt like they were pushing. This book was written in a easy to understand way and would be a great resource for anyone wanting to dip their toes into astrology and lean more.

I was really excited when I saw that Sanctuary were writing a book as I’ve been a fan of their app and Instagram for a long time. Unfortunately, this book missed the mark for me.
The biggest problem with the book for me was the lack of detail. I felt like the authors were talking a lot without saying very much, so to speak. I would have really liked to get more historical information about the practice of astrology as well as more information about things like houses and retrograde. I also don’t think they explained these concepts very well, as I’m honestly still confused about how houses affect the expression of signs. There was also an over-reliance on metaphors and reference to the signs’ characteristics, which I think most readers (myself included) are unfamiliar with.
The best part of the book, in my opinion, was the second half, which was full information about each sign. I liked how they talked about how a sign influences different parts of your life, like finances and relationships, as well as how each sign presents as sun, moon, and rising. Their discussion of my signs rang true for me, which makes sense given how I’ve always seen myself in their memes. The book is also gorgeous, continuing their signature style from their app and Instagram account. It would make an eye-catching coffee table book.
I’d recommend this book for people who are really interested in learning more about astrology, with the disclaimer that it’s a beginner book with limited detail. I won’t be buying this book, though I’d be interested if they ever wrote an extended edition where they expanded on concepts.

First of all, I love the Sanctuary Astrology app and their Instagram, so I was very excited about this book! Imagine my excitement when I saw it was available on NetGalley!

I haven’t read a lot of books about astrology to compare this to. This book was clear, well-organized, and a lot of fun to look at with its colors and visuals (including the Venn diagrams and pie charts their Instagram is known for). Terms and concepts are explained clearly at the beginning of the book, and it’s easy to flip to the sign-specific sections in the second part of the book. Fun and interesting information is given throughout the book that anyone can understand. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about astrology and how to apply it to their life!

What's Your Sign is a great intro to modern Astrology. You will learn the significancy of the elements of your birth chart and the way your Sun/Moon/Rising and the placement of the placements effects your personality and your mood. I would love to get a physical copy of this book to keep on my shelves as a reference for the future. Very fun read and would recommend to anyone interested in Astrology!

This is a really great beginners guide to astrology, and I thoroughly enjoyed the modernization of the descriptions of each of the signs. I also was impressed by the mentioning of birth charts, and how to read the different houses, aspects, and degrees. It's not a very deep guide, but the general overviews are helpful and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about astrology and reading their own charts!

A beautifully illustrated dive into what the signs are, how they're experienced by the individual and those around them, and how to achieve your best life that's in line with your astrological attributes.

This is a basic guide to astrology and is meant for beginners. It mainly covers the concept of a birth chart, the information needed to develop one, and the basics of how to interpret it, with a particular emphasis on Sun, Moon, and Ascending signs. There’s also a guide for each of the 12 signs and the characteristics they embody.

Okay, truth be told, I’ve never really been into astrology. I mean, I knew I was an Aquarius, but I didn’t really even know what that meant. When I stumbled across this book, I decided to try it just out of curiosity. The level of knowledge was perfect for someone like me who had only a vague understanding of what astrology is. I found the book interesting and easy to follow.

The book includes lots of helpful charts and graphics as well as fun stuff like bingo cards for each sign.

Pros: I feel like I’m often left out of conversations and memes because I do not know anything about astrology except for being able to answer the question posed in the title of this book. I love books like this that are introductions to a topic. I listened to the audio version of this book several weeks ago but felt like I might be missing out on the visual aspects of this book, so I wanted to read the print version as well. I’m so glad I did—not only is the book graphically and visually fun, the infographics are fantastic! I loved being able to jump around in the book to the signs that are in my birth chart. I recommend the ebook or a print copy of this book rather than the audiobook. (The audiobook is great, but the visuals of the book add so much.)

Cons: None that I can think of. I know that astrology is not for everyone, but I think readers will know whether this book is for them.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to listen to this book.

I thought this was a really great intro to Astrology! It went in to a lot of great detail and was super easy to read and follow. The only issue I had with this book was some of the writing style. It felt a little forced and like the author was trying a bit too hard to be relatable and #trendy. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this one.

I’ve been a fan of the Sanctuary Instagram account for their fun astrology themed memes, so I was intrigued to pick up this book. Whether you’re a total novice to astrology or someone likes reading their daily horoscopes but now wants to dip their toes more into the world of astrology, then you should definitely check out this book. What’s Your Sign breaks astrology down from its roots and how one can go beyond their Sun sign. It would recommend you look up your rising and moon signs before checking out this book you’ll be able to get so much more from it. Other than that, I love all the fun illustrations and the writing is definitely geared to the younger millennial crowd.
