Feel-good and utterly delightful!
I really loved this book, it has everything you could want in a charming sea-sidey romance, I adore the setting and the characters, Cressida Cupcake (love the name) is a real and relatable woman who could be anyone's best friend, I adored her journey, I laughed and sighed throughout. Plus add in an adorable if cheeky doggo and I was hooked.
A definite must-read, perfect escapism whenever you need it!

This book was one of my perfect escapism reads, . Having spent many a summer in Cornwall but not recently I love to visit even via story, this captured my attention for that reason , but also I love a romantic read and a Jane Linfoot book. I was so happy to return to St Aidan, I love this community and it’s wonderful characters and it has baking in it, see perfect read. You want a great summer book, read this.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sadly, I didn't like the book as much as i thought i would. The writing just didn't catch me and the plot wasn't mine :(

The book was very well written and flowed well. The plot was great. Everything I thought it would be from the description . Lovely cover. Beautiful idyllic location to set the tone.

I’m not a great reader of novels described as ‘heartwarming’, particularly with cheerful pastel-coloured covers. But as an impulse read for a winter day when I was feeling under the weather and in need of comfort, ‘Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen’ by Jane Linfoot proved to be a bit of a surprise.
Second in the Little Cornish Kitchen series, I hesitate to call this a ‘cosy romance’ but it is fun, flirty and funny. Novels set in Cornwall are almost a genre of their own and the fictional seaside village of St Aidan with its pastel-coloured houses set on steep windy streets leading to the beach is ideal for a ‘community’ novel with a strong list of characters.
There are lots of alliterations, hashtags and cute names starting with Cressida Cupcake, the social media name for hit online baker Cressy Hobson. Dog and apartment-sitting for her brother Charlie [owner of the Little Cornish Kitchen Cafe and star of the first book in Linfoot’s series, one of a collection set in St Aidan] Cressy will be at Seaspray Cottage for six weeks. She’s glad to escape London and the embarrassing fallout after an online baking disaster. She’s trending on social media as #CrappyCupcake, her book deal has fallen through, her blog sponsors have disappeared and she is short of cash. But when confronted with her sister-in-law’s circle of best friends, she hides the truth and is determined to work things out on her own.
Inevitably she is soon pulled into the community and joins the fundraising plans for the financially-struggling Kittiwake Court community care home. Cressy’s private baking parties take off, as do her sales of bake boxes via the local Facebook group. Add in a meeting with her handsome teenage crush, assorted sheep to be fed and eggs to be collected, a collection of adorable cats and dogs, various cute children and babies, and the scene is set for Cressy to lurch from disaster to triumph to embarrassment and disaster again and again. There are serious themes too – miscarriage and infertility being the main two – but in general there’s a light hand when it comes to the reality of seaside living, seasonal unemployment, online hate, poverty and the struggles of an ageing population. This is romantic comedy, a getaway from the real world. In this pastel-coloured village, reality is pushed firmly to one side.
Not my normal reading but great for the time when a Bakewell tart blondie is preferable to a single digestive. Oh, and if you enjoy baking there are some great recipes at the end.

I always eagerly await Jane Linfoots new releases. She has a lovely way of setting the scene so vividly you feel like you are there alongside the characters and who wouldn't want to live in St Aidens?! Her characters spring to life before you and you feel every emotion.
Cressy is taking a break from her everyday life after suffering a humiliating experience. She's in St Aiden licking her wounds and her youthful past is catching up with her and providing a much welcome distraction.
Foody references and recipes combine to make this a delicious experience.

What’s better than a great big slice of cake and a pot of tea? A new novel by Jane Linfoot, of course and she is back with her latest deliciously romantic treat, Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen.

Cressida Cupcake is an internet sensation with the world at her feet – until an embarrassing baking-related incident on TV reverses her fortunes and turns her into a complete pariah! Desperately needing to lie low for a while, Cressida packs her bags and heads off to the charming Cornish town of St Aidan where she will be dog-sitting for her brother. But short of funds and with her options very thin on the ground, Cressida cannot help but wonder what the future holds for her. Luckily for her though, the Little Cornish Kitchen just happens to be needing Cressida’s particular skills…

It isn’t just cupcakes and cream teas that are occupying Cressida’s every waking moment as life in St Aidan is anything but boring or predictable. When she isn’t giving Mary Berry a run for her money, Cressida finds herself getting up to all sorts of mischief – from saving a retirement home to chasing sheep and avoiding romance and a particular face from her past she isn’t keen on getting reacquainted with! Ten years ago, Cressida had lost her heart to Ross Bradbury and she is adamant that she will not make the same mistake a decade on. If only Ross wasn’t still so drop dead gorgeous…

St Aidan soon weaves its own magic on Cressida, but it also forces her to stop running from her feelings and to take a chance on her own happiness and confront her emotions head on – or else risk letting the only man she has ever loved slip through her fingers all over again…

Jane Linfoot’s books are like the literary equivalent of a warm hug and a catch-up with one of your best friends. Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen is a spellbinding romantic tale set in a beautiful Cornish village I’d move to in a heartbeat. Full of glorious characters you cannot help but love, mouth-watering descriptions of food that will have you salivating and a gorgeous love story that will make your heart sing, Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen is another uplifting charmer by Jane Linfoot.

Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen by Jane Linfoot. This is book in the Little Cornish Kitchen series and I am a big fan of the author. The main character Cressida was an internet sensation and then things went very wrong. Cressida ends up as a result escaping to Cornwall to house and pet sit for her brother, however Cornwall and Cressida have a past, with some tough memories attached and of which she will have to face. As I’ve said I love this author and was very excited to be able to read this, however and it hurts me to say this but this wasn’t the authors best. It felt like it took forever to read (and in many respects it did, it being half term and a 5 year old to entertain), it was slow going in its story and in places just dragged on. I expected it to be a bit predictable and it was, as I was expected it, it shouldn’t bother me, but I can’t put into words how something felt like it was missing something, it lacked something that normally this author has in her books. It missed that hook that gets you, the reader turning those pages despite of its predictability. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t all bad, the feel of the community, the strong female characters and although i am a bit biased, the author again succeeds in capturing Cornwall between the pages of her books. The end for me finally gave me that feeling that was missing throughout the book, that warm feeling that makes you fall in love with the characters and makes you feel happy for the way everything turned out, if that makes sense. Sadly this obviously wasn’t my favourite of the authors books, I’ll admit at times I thought about putting it down and moving on to the next book, however that’s not me and I like the author to much to do that. I know that the author has a 3 instalment to this series coming out in the winter and however much I wasn’t a fan of this book, I will be wanting to read the next instalment. If you are new to this author you can read them as stand alone books and despite the negativity of this review I do highly recommend this author, if not this book and despite being able to read them as stand alone books, i would start at the beginning of the series , to see how good this author is. Sadly I would give it 3 stars at a push.

Jane Linfoot is a fantastic author. This is a book that should come with a warning- it will make you crave cake.

This has been a cozy read with superb characters. Linfoot has transported me and the Cornish Kitchen is a place I have loved.

This is a unique and easy read which is extremely well written. I have devoured page after page in just one sitting. This book has reminded me why I adore this author. This has been a great read which I can say nothing negative about.

St Aidan: a cosy Cornish village where friendships are made for life and it’s always cocktail hour somewhere…

What can I say other than it was a feel-good , light-hearted read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The setting of a Cornish village called St. Aidan, sounded breathtaking! It was heartwarming, full of friendship and community, the perfect read on a cold March day.

This is a wonderful story and I'll definitely be reading more by this author.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Harpers Collins UK and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the minute I picked up this book I couldn’t put it down.

Cressida Cupcake had an unfortunate time on a baking TV show and her career is in a bit of a delicate state. Luckily she’s hiding out at her brother and sister in law’s house while she gets herself together and works on her upcoming book.

I loved Cressy and I loved the setting of St. Aidan. The characters there are such wonderful people to read about, and there are other books to tie in with this one. However, you don’t need to have read anything else before this book which is lovely.

Unfortunately for Cressy, the one person she never wanted to see again, her ex Ross, is also in St. Aidan. This provides some wonderful sexual tension and fun situations the two find themselves in. The whole book is fun really though, and I liked reading about Cressy finding herself in a place she wasn’t expecting to.

I do think this book works better if you read the others first, it doesn't hold up as a standalone in my opinion. But its a well written book with some interesting characters, just maybe needed a bit of a recap at the start or a way of helping the reader know what is going on.

This story was even better than I expected going in. What a delight!

I expected it to be a light, fluffy romp through Cornwall and I was pleasantly surprised that it had so much more depth.

There was a lot of character growth, an amazing ensemble bunch of characters that you can't help but fall in love with. Oh, and then there is the food! I feel like every copy of this book should come with a treat box, much like Cressy sells.

There were some downsides - Cressy could be annoying at times. I couldn't understand her high maintenance needs to be absolutely perfect. I guess it's just something I can't personally relate to and it didn't click with me.

It was also a bit heart wrenching at times. I went in for a fluffy read and then bam - a traumatic history and a miscarriage. I wasn't prepared for that. It didn't put me off - just a bit of a shock. It was darker than I expected.

Overall, dark bits aside, it was a fun read. Would've been nice to be a tad spicier but that's personal preference. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Cressy Hobson, otherwise known as the blog sensation Cressida Cupcake, escapes to the sleepy village of St Aidan to house sit for her brother - the perfect escape from London and her disastrous tv bake off. Planning to hide out until her brother returns, Cressy soon finds herself turning to the locals when her funding is cut from her blog sponsors. Not expecting to gel with any of the locals, she soon finds herself busier than ever. The only problem? A blast from the past in her childhood crush Ross Bradbury.

This was such a sweet novel. I loved reading about Cressy’s baking (which had me salivating!), the friendships that Cressy developed (how amazing are strong female friendships?!) and her support for and from the locals. It’s exactly the perfect escapism book that I love to delve into!

Thanks to @netgalley and @onemorechapterhc for the review copy!
