Facing Might Fears About Animals helps children identify how fears of animals they will encounter every day will impact their lives and how to manage their fears and anxiety. I was terrified of dogs into my 20's and wish someone had walked me through these steps when I was much younger. Activities to reduce fears via exposure to animals are suggested and children can rank them in order of their personal anxiety around the activity and start with easiest. Images are a good way to evoke a certain mood or feeling, and I think the sparsity of images may work in opposition to the book's goals considering this is a very emotional topic for some children.
