I am a long time fan of the authors writing and so when this book came out I was so excited to read. But I never connected with the characters so its taken me forever to read it. This book is a stand alone but it combines a few of the authors series.

The main character in this story is Victoria Hollingsworth who is the sister of Miles and who we see got together with Charity from the Book "The Best Thing". Vicki is paired with her bodyguard Tyler who works for Sam's security company and we met Sam and Lia in the authors previous series in "The Wrong Man."

Vicki has a bodyguard but she doesn't need it. Her life is pretty boring. She is a florist and she just lives a pretty normal life. Tyler is pretty bored too but he enjoys taking care of her, shall we say. I honestly was terribly bored with this couple. The story does pick up as they travel for a family wedding and we get to see characters from the previous books. But at that point I was just skimming.

I loved Vicki's character but Tyler is a very closed off person. I love that the way he treats her eventually makes her totally write him off and thats when the book finally got interesting. I really liked her but him not so much. Add that to the boring parts in the earlier part of the story and I have to say this story is one I did not love.

I really enjoyed this book by Natasha Anders. It was very well done and interesting. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I loved this contemporary romance about a young London socialite and her American bodyguard. Allie is spoiled, over-indulged and over-protected by her big brothers, but she's also caring, fun, often funny and madly in love. Ty's a brooding tough guy security type who's lost way too many people and wraps himself up in his professional relationship with his charge to keep from getting emotionally close.
Together, they are the stuff of a story that is funny, smart, sometimes tragic and always engaging. It's the kind of emotional roller-coaster, feel-good story I love to read

First of all: I am a fan of this trope. I like surly, protective males who you have to warm up to. I identify with the bubbly, goody two-shoes female protagonist of the book. And I love florals and florist shops. All things this book as going for it. Still, some parts of it felt a little TOO obvious and contrived. It was definitely a slow-burn, but even when they finally got together, I don't feel like we were given enough reason to like Ty. Just because he's hot? Not enough. And once they got together, they seemed to annoy each other more than anything else. I needed more attraction in the opposites attract scenario.

This is a cute body guard romance and a pretty easy read. Ty is the big, brooding protector and Vicki is his sweet, caring charge. They definitely had an opposites attract vibe, with Vicki encouraging Ty to let go of some of his past tragedy and start living in the present. I didn't mind them as a couple, but the chemistry was kind of lacking. Also, it seems weird that he would be her bodyguard for over a year with no attraction and then she gets drunk one night and suddenly he wants her.

The pacing was a bit slow and made the book feel a bit long. I was hoping there would be a big kidnapping attempt or some sort of action, but it was more about the drama of Vicki and Ty getting together instead. Overall this was an alright romance and I hope others enjoy it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley for the copy

3.5 stars for me

This was an easy read. Ty is the good guy bodyguard grump and Victoria is definitely crushing in a massive way. One explosive encounter and he is all in. OTT/JP and definitely plenty of steam. I hadn’t read the earlier book and easily kept up with the story.

Who doesn't love a good bodyguard romance? Victoria is a talented florist and the sister of a very rich, self-made man. After her shop was broken in to and she was injured in the process , he hired her a personal bodyguard. As a result, Ty has been protecting Victoria for the last 18 months. Things have been extremely quiet and during that time Ty has tried very hard not to see Victoria as anything other than a principal. He has very firmly kept things professional and hasn't even been particularly friendly. Victoria hated the intrusion into her life at first - and didn't exactly make things easy on him.

Both Ty and Victoria have a lot of baggage. Victoria had had a lifetime of people not taking her seriously and didn't have an easy time growing up. Ty has lost everyone he has ever gotten close to and keeps everyone at a distance. He's nearing the end of his assignment and moving on to a different role in the company when he and Victoria get together - and that time limit seems to give him the permission he needs to take things with them in a decidedly more personal direction.

Ty and Victoria are definitely fire together. But it is almost painful to watch Ty lie to himself about what they can be and can't. It was refreshing however, to see Ty go through the work and do some therapy before he and Victoria fine their happily ever after.

Overall I liked this book a lot - I didn't love the pacing of it - and got very frustrated with Ty in particular. I also just really wanted them to talk to each other and not make assumptions all the freaking time.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

An imperfect heroine who doesn't need protection helps thaw her stoic bodyguard. Patience through the first half gets you to a happily ever after. I liked that he accepted therapy to work through past trauma. CW: mentions a past eating disorder and parent death.

A sensuous and frustrating relationship that has all the right pieces but they can’t seem to get them to fit right! A well developed plot with the characters that make it unique, I couldn't put this fun read down.

What a lovely romance with one of my favorite tropes. I just enjoyed the story and the writing so much. I hope to read more by this author as soon as possible.

Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. This was really cute. I really enjoyed the whole bodyguard romance and the writing was really good. I read this all in one sitting. All opinions are my own.

It was only meant to be a job. Ty knows that things have changed between him & Vicki and he has no idea what to do. He is meant to be her protection but he knows that things have started to change with their relationship. He can't give her what she wants and he knows that he will hurt her when he walks away. Vicki knew the risks with getting involved with Ty she just didn't expect to fall for him. Where to from here for them? Do they stand a chance at doing this right? A good read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review

I LOVED this book,, I could not put it down. I was so intrigued to see what would happen between Vicki and Tyler. The chemistry between them was through the roof and all the way through I wanted to hug Tyler. He has been through so much and I love how much Vicki is able to help him throughout the course of the book. This was such a quick and easy read that I managed to read the whole thing in a day,

This is the first book in the unprofessionally yours series that I have read however it won't be the last. This is the first book by Natasha Anders that I have read and I'm looking forward to trying her others,

“The only one I can truly blame for the way I feel right now, is me. Because I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, and I still allowed myself to fall in love with you.”

About the book: bodyguard, slow burn, no strings attached relationship, grumpy x sunshine.

3 stars— whyyy don't I read bodyguard romances more often? You really can't go wrong with this trope. Plus, it's Natasha Anders —who's always a go to author of mine— so it was kind of a given that I would enjoy this book.

Vicki's overprotective brother hires a bodyguard for her, after an unfortunate robbery shakes everyone in her family up and makes them worried for her safety. Tyler Chambers has been the perfect bodyguard —always alert, always professional. At least until temptation becomes too hard to resist. Vicki and him had been circling around each other pretty much since the beginning of this arrangement, the only thing preventing them from crossing the line Tyler's professionalism. Vicki, on the other hand, seemed to do everything in her power to drive him out of his mind, to crack the invisible walls he'd built around himself. When she finally succeeds, the outcome is not what she expected: he wants her, but this thing between them could only work under his conditions. As he makes it clear, this thing between them has an expiration date. And while they'll be enjoying each other's company, they'll have to follow some simple rules.. No feelings, no fooling around during work hours, no expectations.

“I see you, Ty,” she assured. “I’ve always seen you.”

It was a good book, enjoyable and fast paced. While it took me a while to really get into it, I finally did around the 25% mark. That's when the book started to really look good for me, and up until the 80% mark I looved it! I slightly lost my interest after that —everything seemed to move on too fast but too slow at the same time... Am I making any sense? I hope so. Anyway, the important thing is that I enjoyed it and I could see myself re-reading it again in the future.

Gotta love some bodyguard romance!

This had it all! The drama, the passion, the slow burn, the spice!! Gotta love that spice! I love bodyguard romances, they're very entertaining to read in my opinion and I really enjoy them, just like I enjoyed this! This is the first book I've read of the series but I didn't feel lost at all!

Thank you to Netgalley and Natasha Anders for the earc in return for an honest review.

I liked Victoria and Ty's story but I didn't love it. Normally I love this trope and I enjoyed my time between the pages of Protect Me Not. Victoria is the kind of heroine you can root for, she's sweet and honest and loves her family so much she lets her brother give her a bodyguard she's not all that thrilled about. Ty has secrets and a seeming inability to move on from the past. What starts off as casual becomes something more and with a few problems, they manage to figure it out.

I honestly really enjoyed this one. It had the perfect amount of angst and fluff.
We actually got to learn about both Victoria and Tyler and their backstories. We saw the relationship developing over time.

What was one of my favorite parts about this story though was all the little details that both Victoria and Tyler remembered about each other. This is something that I just enjoy seeing because it shows the level of care and acknowledgment that so many romances don't have. They had a little bit of history together and the feelings grew and it wasn't just insta-love which I am so tired of seeing.
This was an actual story where we get to see them grow together and apart. They communicated over time with one another and did help each other move along with their futures.

I'm still getting comfortable with spicy in books, so I'm not going to start commenting on that just yet as I do just skip over some of it. (that's my own personal preference) The spiciness didn't take anything away from the rest of the story which I appreciated. It did help develop it more and showed that level of care between the two as the book went on.

I'm looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I loved this book. It is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand a lone, There was so much chemistry between the main character. When they finally gave in it felt like the pages of the book combusted. These two were perfect for each other. I love their story. I plan on going back and reading the first book now. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

I found this book to be quite slow, the plot was a bit thin with nothing much happening. Read up to chapter nine, but couldn’t get into this story.

Protect Me Not is the second book in the (Un)Professionally Yours series by Natasha Anders. I did not read the first book, and do not think that the lack negatively impacted my reading experience.

Victoria Hollingsworth does not need a surly, uncommunicative bodyguard cramping her style, following her everywhere, and intimidating any would-be male callers. She’s a florist for goodness sake, not a princess or a pop star. Having a massive, mysterious bodyguard always hovering is an inconvenience. And yet… there he is, Tyler Chambers, her unwanted protector, ultra-serious, no-nonsense, and off-the-charts hot. Vicki doesn’t want, or need, him as a bodyguard. Yet, disturbingly, he may be everything she wants, and needs, in a man.Ty hates his current long-term assignment. It’s mind-numbingly tedious. Vicki Hollingsworth is a pain in the butt who talks too much, laughs a lot, and frequently tests his patience. And her life isn’t exactly filled with intrigue and action. Ty is ready for this job to be over. He has just a couple of months left before reassignment. He’s mere weeks away from being out of here. The last thing he needs is to find his cute-as-a-button charge irresistibly attractive. She’s not his type. Wholesome, adorable, and sweet, Vicki is the kind of woman who needs long-term commitment. And all Ty has to offer is a few short weeks of far-from-wholesome pleasure. How much chaos can one little florist introduce into his regimented life?

Protect Me Not is a contemporary romance. I liked the connection and back and forth between the characters, and thought a great deal was done right with the characters. Vicki is a little too trusting and naive but also seems aware of her privilege and the love of those in her life. Tyler has problems with letting people in, but also seems to be aware of it on some level, but not necessarily ready to make adjustments. I liked the honest discussions that are had, even when they know they are lying to themselves on some level. I think the way Tyler's walls ad past are handled, and how the support system is always there and playing their role even what it is not blatantly obvious. I enjoyed the secondary characters, and the hints as to who might be the next pairing off in the series that are included here. I enjoyed the read, and I thought the slow burn and forbidden romance aspects were very well done, although I will admit to getting a little bored and eager for an ending at some point. I did like that emotional issues had to be recognized and dealt with rather than ignored, which is too often the case, particularly for male characters.

Protect Me Not is a solid romance with well written characters.
