Vicki’s two older brothers were so protective of her, especially her oldest Miles. I admired Vicki because even though her family was rich, she opened her own florist shop to make her own money. I know she had to have been scared when there were some robberies around her, but it had to be overkill to have a bodyguard for her! But then, if she didn’t need a bodyguard she would have never met Ty. I couldn’t believe how Ty almost seemed like a robot and had to be so professional all the time. The more though I learned about Ty’s past I understood better why he closed himself off to everyone. I loved Vicki and how sweet and caring she was. I think she was the best thing to happen to Ty even if he didn’t know it. Their relationship had many ups and downs. I was given a book from NetGallery and voluntarily wrote a review.
I loved this story! The characters are fantastic, very complex. Each have their own struggles and I loved Vicki's patience with Ty. Even when he didn't deserve it. There is humor, angst, heartbreak, sexy romance, friendship, and family in this story. It truly is something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the pacing. It definitely isn't an insta-love, instead building is a believable way that keeps you so invested! This was my first time reading this author and it won't be my last.
Victoria Hollingsworth owns a flower shop and likes to have an independent life. However, being from a wealthy and influential family, her older brother Miles insists that she have a 24/7 bodyguard, which makes her very angry.
Tyler Chambers is Vic's bodyguard. He doesn't like having to protect Miles' spoiled sister, but Miles is good friends with Sam Brand, owner of Brand Executive Protection Services.
Vic doesn't help much, making herself an easy target and making Tyler's job difficult, but deep down, they both hide a strong attraction they feel. And in the days that follow, as Vic's mother, Enid's wedding day approaches, and the discovery of a secret, any attempt at a more serious relationship could end.
Who would take the first step towards reconciliation?
4 stars
She is a cute drunk. But what was in the beer?
It sounds like Colby and Chase should get together.
I guess idle hands are hands.
Haha, she saluted!
Well, spa retreat beats cell phone.
Aww, so cute!
Buh-bye, Teddy.
This is going to end badly.
Haha, suck it, groom!
Her soft heart is at fault, if anything.
It's a blessing that she actually likes her future sister-in-law.
Preach, Chance.
Poor man.
I like that she doesn't fall all over herself to keep him.
OMG this book is amazing! I couldn’t put it down.
Florist Victoria Hollingsworth does not need a bodyguard following her everywhere. Ty hates his current long-term assignment. It’s mind-numbingly tedious. Vicki is a pain in the butt who talks too much, laughs a lot, and frequently tests his patience. Ty is ready for this job to be over. The last thing he needs is to find his charge irresistibly attractive. Wholesome, adorable, and sweet, Vicki is the kind of woman who needs long-term commitment. And all Ty has to offer is a few short weeks of far-from-wholesome pleasure.
These too!! I absolutely love the bodyguard trope and this book was not an exception. Vicki is a beautiful character. Strong, brave and resilient. And so sweet and patient. Ty has suffered so, so many losses. His parents, his brother, his best friend. He is incapable of loving again. Or so he thinks until Vicki. Together they are perfect. These are great, deep characters. Strong ones.
The chemistry is off the chart, but there’s also an emotional bond between them. And the sex! SIGH. The bond is real; you can absolutely feel it. You believe their fears, their trust issues.
The book is well written and I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend it.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
3.5 A new to me author and what a sexy fun read. I loved how the H had to fight his feeling for the h and how it all ended up. The bodyguard troupe is a favorite.
This book definitely exceeded my expectations. I like how much we got to know the main characters Vicky and Ty. They seemed very 'real' and likeable, and made a good match. I enjoyed the angst between them and how their chemistry came together. The plot was easy to follow and it was an entertaining light read.
I liked their discussion and decision making during the epilogue too.

Vicki and Ty perfected the dancing around that what they really felt wasn’t hate, but attraction I thought. When they finally realized what they could have only on a temporary basis, it was a covert operation so no one would know.
I loved the way Ty tried to ignore the feelings in his heart, trying to convince himself this was not going to happen. Meanwhile Vicki in all her cuteness went right ahead with Operation Fall in Love.
While this is the second book in the series, you can start reading the second book just fine, but really why would you? Natasha has written a great book and as a new reader, I am excited to go back and read all her books.
This book was good. The chemistry and tension from the start was consuming. The progression of their relationship was on point.
Loved, loved, loved this book.
Vikki's brother, Hugh, has hired a security team for her, and Tyler has been her main protector for over a year. During that time the physical attraction between the two is off the charts, and one night they decide to give in to it. But one night is not enough, and soon the couple are in a non-relationship relationship. Feelings are not supposed to factor in, but keeping them out is almost impossible. Can Tyler overcome his past to have a future with Vikki?
Characters are awesome, love the banter and their personalities. Plot was enjoyable and flowed so easy.

This is the second book in a series, I havent read the first one but didn't have any trouble following the story.
While I did give this book 3 starts it was more of a me issue, not an issue with the book itself. .. I used to be really into contemporary romance, especially bodyguard romances.. I hadn't read one in years but when I was asked to read this one, and it sounded like something I used to love to read I decided to see if I still had a love for this type of book.
However I think that Im just not into contemporary romance anymore.. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and just ended up skimming through a lot of the story..
But the parts I did read were well written, and I know if I would have read this book while I was really into this genre years ago I would have really enjoyed it. So if this sounds like something you would want to read I would definitely tell you to check it out.
After a robbery in her shop, Vicki ends up with a body guard hired by ber brother.. At the beginning of the story Tyler the bodyguard is bored.. he has been guarding Vicki for about a year now, and her life is pretty boring.. minus those times at the very beginning when she gave him a hard time about everything.. especially when he had to go check public restrooms before she can go in... But when Vicki reveals how safe she feels when Ty is around and they both begin a little bit of flirting..They had no idea that they really even liked each other.. . Then the chemistry between them skyrockets...
However as they are in a working relationshp as well things get complicated the way they do.. but everything works out in the end and they end up happily ever after.
This is the second book in the series, but functioned well as a stand-alone. The story revolves around Vickie, a woman receiving protection, and her personal bodyguard, Tyler. It’s never made clear what she needs guarding from, other than potential danger at her London florist shop, but the chemistry between Vickie and Tyler is pretty amazing. If you prefer your romances on the steamy side, this is the book for you. The sex scenes are graphic and abundant.
My only critiques of the novel are that Tyler is a bit more of a cold fish than is necessary, and the very important note that one is never an EX-Marine. Someone like Tyler would only refer to himself as a former Marine, or a retired one.

Oh, I felt for Vicki. She tried so hard to keep feelings out of the arrangement she and Tyler had, but she couldn’t. And who would be able to when he turned on the charm? I even felt for Tyler because he’d been through so much that he was certain he had nothing left of his heart to give to someone. So we have hurt and angst on both sides, some misery along with heartbreak, and a huge epiphany when Tyler reviews some of his recent excursions through a different lens…literally.
This was a decent story of love healing or at least forcing someone to understand their fears when hearts get involved. Tyler may have been a tad inconsistent, but his hot and cold routine was at least clearly explained. I can still be disappointed in him for it a few times though. And Vicki was sometimes too kind and forgiving for her own good, but she clearly understood that compassion goes further than anything else when dealing with other people and feelings, so I could identify with her along the way. Luckily, these two managed to figure out their issues independently and work on themselves before trying to truly become part of an “us”, and I can appreciate that.
