The Friendship Pact by Jill Shalvis Light reading, a good book. Tae was snarky and prickly throughout. Riggs, Jake's brother, seemed to enjoy baiting Tae which got to be a bit repetitive after awhile. Enjoyed reading about April more so than Tae and Riggs.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
3.5 enthusiastic stars with potential for an update to 4 after a re-read.
First of all, many, many thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for providing this ARC in exchange for my objective review. I'm SO grateful!
So, my immediate reaction was "Woo hoo" as one of my favorite supporting characters from Shalvis' "Heartbreaker Bay" series made an appearance. I love Jake and was so glad to read more about him. I also enjoyed reading about this book's main characters. The dialogue was snarky, the love scenes were romantic and not too detailed (PG-13), the family relationships were heartwarming with an interesting take on the mother-daughter relationship.
An added bonus point to Shalvis for properly mocking the "man bun". Yay!
Shalvis' new "Sunrise Cove" series promises to be one of my favorites and I highly recommend this book for an entertaining read and a great HEA.
PG-13 love scenes and some profanity.
Jill Shalvis will always be an auto read author! Her books are just pure and incredibly powerful.
I loved being in Sunshine Cove with Tae, April and Riggs.
Jill Shalvis always puts a smile on my face and never cease to amaze me.
Her beautiful writing just stays with you long after your done reading.
Shalvis is quite the storyteller and I was delighted to find myself quickly drawn into Tae's story.
The Friendship Pact is a phenomenal, gorgeous, stunning novel.
A true story about love, family and friendship.
It was touching, it was heartwarming and full feels.
If you haven't read a story by her, seriously check her out.... She has written some amazing novels and series!

Great page turning emotions read. Great for variety ages. Would recommend to buy and would buy a physical copy
Great dialogue, and characters. So Sweet 💗
A heartwarming story that centers on family, friendship and forgiveness. I enjoyed the characters and the relationship between Tae and her Mom.
Secrets have been kept and when they come to light ....well, I recommend you read this one.
I’m usually not that into second chance romances but Shalvis never disappoints. I loved Grub. I have a dog very similar. I adored Tae’s relationship with her mother and her neighbors.
At first I wasn’t feeling the romance as much as I would’ve liked but it really took off in the library and just kept getting better from there.
The plot lines blended well and it never felt like one part of the story took away from another part. I’ll keep that spoiler free but the two interconnected really well. I LOVE Riggs and Jake’s dynamic. Overall this is just a great read.
Jill Shalvis has done it again! She creates characters that are multi dimensional, who can be prickly, comforting, and lovable. Both Tae and Riggs have these qualities. They both have their eyes on a certain path where they see their lives going and it’s not in the same direction. One craves security and one needs to run from their emotions. When certain secrets come to life, so does their past together. They’re in for a bumpy ride, but so well worth it!
Thanks William Morrow and NetGalley for the ARC of this book
A big fan of Jill Shavis, and while did enjoy the book, it wasn't one of my faves.
The Friendship Pact is a complex story about trust in self, in situations, and in other people. Mother and daughter, April and Tae, and brothers Riggs, and Jake have a lot of baggage and guilt weighing them down making it difficult to have more than superficial relationships with most people. The beauty in this story is how talented author, Jill Shalvis guides her characters through the rapids to calm waters, while showcasing the needs of our wounded vets and disadvantaged children. Characters often make you want to shake them, but the realistic situations and dialogue make this a hard book to put down unfinished. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the story lines. I love reading the books that Jill Shalvis writes. She did a great job with this one. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
A case of mistaken identity brings Tae and Riggs together again, and not in a good way. Tae wants to avoid him at all costs, but that turns out to be harder than she imagined because Riggs is in town briefly to help his brother, Jake. Tae happens to be working on a project for Jake. They can’t avoid each other forever. Neither one is interested in a relationship, yet they keep being drawn to each other. Can they get a second chance to get it right this time?
The characters are great. There’s drama, humor, romance, family dynamics, multiple story lines, healing, new friendships, and a lot of fun.
I loved reading about the Adrenaline HQ adventure company activities for athletes with disabilities, wounded warriors, and at-risk kids.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Sunrise Cove with a powerful, moving story about a young woman on a quest to find the truth about her father who learns the meaning of true love along the way.
I really enjoy Jill Shalvis, but this book wasn't a hit for me. I had trouble staying interested in the book and it was not a book I had trouble putting down.
So this is an OK book, but not great for me!
3 stars
This was a fantastic romantic read. Jill Shalvis writes some of the easiest, sweet romances. There is a lways conflict and communication skills to learn, but I feel that her books are always a special story that tells of people finding new romance and old friends through circumstances.
I truly enjoy Jill shalvis's books and The friendship pact was a great book. I loved the characters and the storyline.
I LOVE JILL SHALVIS. Normally I have trouble with unlikeable protagonists, but Tae was the exception. She toed that fine line between being really irritating and making me want to root for her.
This is another great book from Jill Shalvis. I love every book she writes. The two main characters are Tae and Riggs. They have each other since high school. There is a mutual attraction. Tae is an event planner, she is helping Rigg’s brother with an event for his and Rigg’s company. They have some issues to work through, but they get them worked out together and fall in love.
An engaging love story that beautifully incorporates the issue of wounded veterans, adding depth and character to what is already a sweet romance. I look forward to recommending this book.
There's just something so engaging about Jill Shalvis' work - I was in a bit of a reading slump, and I know that this would pull me out of it.
The Friendship Pact focuses on Tae and April, a mother-daughter duo who have been through it. April had Tae when she was 15 years old, and there were some very hard times growing up. Tae is now a successful event coordinator, April is working at AHQ, and they're both happy and secure for the first time in a long time. But a blast from the past, separate ones for April and Tae, rock the stable lives they've built for themselves.
It was sweet, it was fun, and I'd highly recommend it.
I enjoyed this new book by Jill Shalvis. However it is missing something! All of her past titles have always included some humor and I feel as if this one didn't include any humor. Other than that, the story was pretty good bu I also felt it was drawn out a bit, probably could of cut the number of pages in half. As always I feel a lot of book reviews depend on the mood of the reader so I may read this again and see if I get a different opinion on it.
