Best Man Indeed
The Shellington Series, Book 2
by K. L. McLoughlin
Sean and Becca spend the night together after their friends wedding where he was the best man and she was maid of honour. Although there is a strong attraction between them he doesn’t fill the biggest hurdle on Becca’s list of eligibility which is being Jewish but Sean is all about the long game and has infinite patience. His ultimate aim is to win Becca round.
An enjoyable read with a wide range of characters and humour.
This is the first book I've read of this series and it was a nice story of stepping outside of one's comfortzone and revaluating. Becca has her checklist that she looks for in guys and and Sean does not meet the biggest criteria--he is not Jewish. Sean, however, does everything he can to prove to her that he is still an acceptable match despite not checking off her boxes. Sean is such a sweet guy that he really makes up for Becca's shortcomings. It's a nice story, not too heavy and the issues that come up between Sean and Becca make the story so relatable.
I liked this book about Becca and Sean, although I did find Becca herself difficult to understand. The overall storyline was enjoyable, and the family members had me hooked!
Becca and Sean spend the night together. They are attracted to each other but their lives are really different. Can they forget about all their differences in order to be a couple?
This is the second book in this series. And I liked it a lot more than the first one.
I had this idea about Becca and reading her story I found out that she was not as I had thought. I liked that about her.
It's a sweet book, no big dramas and you will read it very fast.
Just fabulous. I picked this book thinking I’d have a nice romantic escapism and got that and so much more. A really proper look at the challenges of mature relationships and what happens when there are really big barriers to a future together. Religion doesn’t have to be a barrier, perceived or otherwise, but Becca and her family and really worried it might be and so she sees her family with a Jew. Sean is just in love and wants to make it all work and we follow the emotional investment that both put in to seeing whether their friendship will deepen and go the distance to marriage.
