Okay the spiciness starts early in this book; I was not prepared. LOL, Which is probably why I, was a little confused at the start too, I couldn't concentrate on the world building while sexy time was happening. LOL Once I gathered my pearls and really started paying attention, I was really intrigued by the world Setta Jay created. It has elements of fantasy books done in the past and at the same time I thought it was really original. I also loved Uri's and Alex's relationship and how instead of fighting the bonding, like most do in a paranormal romance, they jumped right into it and boy was it sizzling. I will for sure read the rest of the series.

This was a deeper book then I thought it would be, more intense and sexually with a great storyline that gets more complex as it goes.

wowza, what a start to a series! a bit intense so I definitely recommend taking the time to read the disclaimer. Beginning is slow burn but once the two MC's meet, its a wild time.

The cover of this and the name make it seem like straight up erotica, but it is paranormal romance with a vampire-like MMC and a demigoddess FMC. There is, indeed, a plot. There is also a lot of banging, and the sexybits are done very well.

I 5-starred this mostly because it's taken what is very common of this genre and done it well, some of which include:
1. A group of friends/family or whatever who eventually all branch off into their own stories.
You learn enough about the side characters during the book to actually be interested in what will happen to them in their upcoming book.
2. Instalust.
We have instalust but not instalove. The emotions come later in the game.
3. Fated mates.
This trope can really suck, but it's done well here in part because there is no instalove.

I also find that the plots of those books generally fucking suck, and they, on the whole, bring absolutely nothing to the table. The plot here isn't amazing, but it isn't super boring or eye-rolly. Few things are more insulting than reading a book with a shit plot hoping to at least get some graphic slapping of bits together only to be highly disappointed.

On which note, it also doesn't bait and switch you. I have read countless paranormal romances that would seem as if they are going to be rife with sexybits; they have the cover with the abs and the disclaimer that there will be lots of steam, and then the sexybits are either nonexistent, sparse and sort of underwhelming, or outright disappointing. There are sexybits in spades here, they start right from the get-go and are generously peppered throughout the book, and they are done well. Read this before bed ladies, and that 'headache' might just cure itself if you're picking up what I'm putting down.

Don't let the 5 stars fool you. This is not some miracle of modern literature. It leaves a bit to be desired in terms of the plot and character development. It still refers to the men as males because of course it does. Can we not have fantasy races that are called men? Just because it's a man doesn't mean it has to be a HU-man ffs. On that note, avoid if you are averse to growly dominant men and all kinds of scenting of arousal.

Oh my god the SPICE… This is the second book I’ve read by this author and she does not disappoint as a spicy author. The intensity of the characters were great and the book was addictive!

This one is an interesting one, i really enjoyed the premise and feel it was executed well. The steamy scenes were well written and didn’t overpower the plot. The characters were interesting, and you became invested in them. I really enjoyed this one.

Holy Cow!!!! This is one smoking hot story. Plenty of sex with Demi-Gods, Gods, and Guardians.
Alex is a Demi-Godess who can hop into others minds. Uri is a Guardian who has been obsessed with Alex but never approached her. When she mind hops and finds women being experimented on and raped, she finally goes to Uri. Her brother Erik is in a sort of cationic state, they figure out one of the females is his mate.
What they didn’t expect was to be hit with the mating frenzy. While trying to get their mating bond solidified, they go in to rescue the women and try to capture the evil that is kidnapping and experimenting on these women.

This book was interesting. I wasn't the biggest fan of the writing style but I did like the characters.

It took a long time to get going. The plot and character list was very complicated and took a lot of sorting out, I understand that it's the start of a series and a whole new world, but I don't need to hear about it all at the start! Sometimes less is more. Once the book settles down to be more about Uri and Alex it became much more readable and enjoyable. As a series it has potential, as a single book, not so good.

I will say I liked this book a ton more than the last one I tried. This is like immortals and guardians and demi gods fucking and fighting through eternity in hunt for their mates and overall shenanigans. It was too long and drawn out for me but I will say the start of this book is quite fantastic and started ad a a4.5 star book so maybe it's me

Ecstasy Unbound: The Guardians of the Realms Book 1 is an exotic paranormal romance written by Setta Jay. The book centers around Urian one of 12 guardians assigned to ensure the safety of humans. He's spend the past 100 years playing a voyeuristic game with a godess named Alexandra. With all the gods being exiled to another realm Alex and her bothers have to remain hidden. Despite the pull both Uri and Alex know there can never be more than their game. When Alex reached our to Uri when her brother needs help what follows next can only be described are pure carnal delight. Yummy alpha male meets lonely lusty godess and they feel a passion most only dream of!
Setta Jay creates an entire new world of realms filled with Immortals, beast from hell, and humans. The characters are refreshingly relatable and an interesting plot with plenty of action beyond the bedroom.
My only complaint is there was a lot of back story that was repeated throughout the book. Even though the backstory was interesting the repeated intro of the past took away from the flow for me...I wish that maybe a few chapters at the beginning of the book explained the backstory then turned to the present.
In general I quite enjoyed the book with all the plot action and the super steamy primal sex scenes. I found myself tearing through the pages to the very end and anticipating the next book. I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars due to the repeated back story through the story that affected my focus.
This book is definitely for adults only with very detailed sex scenes. Warning there are also some adult themes of sexual abuse, rape, and torture.

I nearly DNF'ed this book less than one chapter in because I found the writing so repetitive. After googling the author and finding glowing praise for this series (in what I must assume was a self-published previous version, since this one only just came out) I decided to at least get to the second chapter before giving up on it. Fortunately, the main issue I had with the first chapter was a matter of that particular character's voice, so it only arose in the chapters written from his point of view. Figuring that out allowed me to get into the story and characters more, which I ended up enjoying quite a bit. I'm not a huge fan of the alpha-male animalistic Dom trope, but I very much enjoyed the pairing of the main male character, Uri, with a competent, powerful female lead. Alex is no innocent virgin, which is all too often what alphas are paired with. I like that she knows what she wants and is far too empowered - both sexually and in her standing as a demi-goddess - to let Uri steamroll her with no pushback.

The world Jay builds is also fascinating, though I would argue that it's a bit too richly layered. I kept forgetting the details regarding all the different types of immortals, and reading it as an ebook didn't make referring back to the glossary at the beginning easy. Fortunately, most of them weren't terribly important to remember in the moment, or a mention of what difference about them was important was usually given.

My main issue with the book is how repetitive it is, reiterating details in such a way that it doesn't come across as a "reminder", especially when entire paragraphs seem to have been copied and tweaked only a few chapters apart. The language was also repetitive, sometimes using the same noun three or four times in two sentences when there are synonyms that could have been used to add variety. This was also part of the issue with the voice in chapter one, mentioned above. I'm no prude when it comes to cursing. My favorite word is "fuck," so there has to be a distractingly liberal use for me to think there's too much cursing in a book.

All in all, I ended up liking it. If the rest of the books in the series is re-edited and re-released as this one was, I might check them out. I do like a solid plot and interesting characters in my sexy reads, and this one definitely hit both of those marks for me.

My second time reading this book. It was just as good as the first time. When a Demi-Goddess meets up with a Guardian, in order to save her brother, can she withstand his charm and yummy looks long enough to get what she needs to help him. Will he learn her secrets?

Alright so this was a bit of a surprise, from the description I wasn't expecting much in the way of plot but there's actually some decent world building going on and quite a bit of story. I mean a lot of it revolves around mates and sex, but it's engaging enough!

Love that Alex is a bad ass and happily puts Uri in his place for making decisions on her behalf. There's the usual 'soul mates' tropes that are rolled out, but I did like the idea of sharing power and them being stronger together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to read the rest of the series. The writing was well done, there was a good amount of action throughout the book and it held my attention. I was able to connect with the characters and became invested in their development.

The relationship between Alex and Uri is primal and beautiful. The author wrote their intimate scenes extremely well. I've read a decent amount of smut and the smut in this book is probably some of the best I've read. It was easy to follow the development of Alex and URIs relationship. I loved how protective Alex's brothers are of her. The dialogue between characters was done very well.

The first few chapters were a little confusing to me because I didn't realize there is a book before this one. As I kept reading everything was explained. The only thing I did not like was the overuse of curse words in the first 10-15 chapters. It didn't seem necessary and took away from the meaning of the words the character was saying. As the book went on the use of curse words died down and were not a distraction as much.

I'm not really sure how to feel about this book.
My first read of Setta's was "Mercenary Princess " which I LOVED! So I had high hopes for "Ecstay Unbound".

I really enjoyed the different pov and the world building but unfortunately that's where it stopped for me.

I feel very confused with the different races in regards to their powers, history and where they came from/belong.

I couldn't connect with the main characters as there were SO MANY characters to keep track of and to connect with that it made it all quite overwhelming.
Things slowly started to make sense in the end then it was cut quite short and ready to move on to Gregories story, while leaving all the other story lines half finished, I guess that's why it's a series, but it just felt lacking and fell short.

Sexy steamy romance with great dialogue and unique world building. I really enjoyed this book thanks netgalley.

Immortal beings dwell between three dimension, earth is one of them. This is a story of the champions protecting earth and the other realms from harm while others work under the radar. The underlying story arc being these immortals only pair with their one soul mate and then the mating begins. I would be intrigued to see where this goes, a lot happens in this one novel.

There is a lot of detail in this short book, there's a glossary at the beginning to define different beings. Unfortunately in the advance copy it didn't have Kindle X-ray feature so having to go back and forth with each new term was a bit distracting, maybe this is available on the purchased version, I hope so!
